Brad Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Figured I'd see what the GD community feels about this.
bpr Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I doesn't really change anything for me and that goes for no matter who won. Same paycheck; same spending plan. 1
riven3d Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 wouldnt of mattered who had won, I will still spend the same amount, how much that is i dont know, that depends on what is out there I dont even know until i get in the store, i got in with a list of what I know i want and i usually walk out with more than that, i usually dont have a budget.
pinkchrome Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Doesn't change anything for me. Sent from my SM-G935V using GottaDeal mobile app
sbwolfer Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 It might have an effect on what I buy. Do they sell bomb shelter supplies on Black Friday? Gas masks? 3
Mimito1 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Election results won't change my shopping/buying habits on BF. 1
speeddiva Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Not this year, but we have decided to seriously cut back all of our spending in the coming years. I have zero expectations that social security will be there for me in 20 years. Time to buckle down.
magickallight Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 According to the news everyone is moving to Canada... seems like things cost more there - so I am staying put and spending will be the same. 4

I have been stocking up on my Looney's and Tooney's lately lol. I'm not referring to catoons either. 2

myboysnme Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I picked I will spend less and that is because my retirement fund may take a huge hit. But in reality I will still try to get everyone what they want.
jaymacfla Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I might just spend a wee bit more, hehehe 1
cllehto Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I think spending overall will be down due to the uncertainty of privitization of Social Security which the Republicans have wanted for a long time and worry about repeal of obamacare which will leave many with high health care costs.
tyreejames Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 My spending will remain pretty much the same as this money has already been set aside. Going forward, I will be making a conscious effort to cut back on spending for a multitude of reasons...
Elmck Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 The same this year maybe less than last year but I just didn't save enough
len_mullen Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 No change here. I am, however, shopping for a new vehicle and the election will mildly affect my decisions on this purchase.
jesusluvu Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Mostly the same, but a little retail therapy want hurt to much either.
provresgrp Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I think spending overall will be down due to the uncertainty of privitization of Social Security which the Republicans have wanted for a long time and worry about repeal of obamacare which will leave many with high health care costs. "Repeal of obamacare which will leave many with high health care costs" Ahh yes.Because everyone's costs have been dropping so substantially over the past few years./sarcasm 1
mcwalker Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 It won't change my spending this year. I am already trying to cut back a bit. I wouldn't expect the economic effects (whatever they are) to hit until next year, and especially a few years from now.
jmcdon00 Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 "Repeal of obamacare which will leave many with high health care costs" Ahh yes.Because everyone's costs have been dropping so substantially over the past few years./sarcasm Not trying to start a political debate, but millions of the poor are getting free health thanks to Obama Care and the expansion of medicaid. And millions more of low income workers are recieving subsidies through the exchanges. If they just revoke it without immediately replacing it millions of people will lose there insurance and have to pay more to replace it.
