RossMAN Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 With all the media exposure this year, BF is going to be even more popular next year. A few years ago you could get in line around 1-2AM and be guaranteed a spot in the first 10. This year I visited Best Buy at 11PM and there were already 50 people in line, no laptop for me! So when Black Friday 2006 rolls around, what's the earliest you'll get in line?
Rebirth Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Same like this this year 3:30 unless they open at 4:00am next year.
BobbyDouglas Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Without knowing the specific items for sale, nobody can tell you what time they are going to get in line. I think it all comes down to what the item is, the quantity for sale, and the number of people who want it.
ebony0421 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 If I were going to BB or CC for a tv or computer I would be there by 8 or so. I was there at 10pm this year and I don't think that is gonna work for bf2006.
cheg Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Between 2-3am for me depending on the deals they will have.
Kandy Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 well i was in line at the px at 145 and they opened at 3 and was in the top 50 people in the door. unless the doors open earlier or there is something i really MUST have... then I hope no earlier than this yr
grapico Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 6pm if laptop and free computer deals like again next year, and will probably be wanting to upgrade *my* system to a 64 bit processor and new motherboard with pci-e, this year even 9-10pm would not cut it here if you wanted one, needed to be there before 9pm to get one.
Daisimae Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 It depends on what we need. But, I do know that if I'm going for any high-demand items, I'll be in somebody's parking lot at 6pm with a tent, camp heater, food and drink warmer blankets, dvd player, iPod and four layers of clothing. My shopping buddy already asked for the day off.

allystl Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I'll be there @ 7pm. We got to one CC/BB at 10 and the line was already over 40+. But, the one right down the street was empty to 12:30. Go figure. I agree with Daisimae. I'll be super prepared!
DaleRider Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 We got to our respective stores (me CC, Deb BB) at 9:30....I was 11th in line, she was 27th. Guess next year is earlier by a bit......and I thought 9:30 was overdoing it as being too early.
RossMAN Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 It will be interesting to look back on this thread when BF 2006 arrives.
dissident Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 same time as this year, about 11PM to 11:30 at wal-mart supercenter pending they have another cheap laptop.
nickle831 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 :g_dance: well I won't be needing a computer next year so I probably will go around 3 or 4 depending on the deals. I got there at 11pm this year and I was about 100 people back. I got the gateway laptop for 572 this year, and I am glad that the cheaper ones ran out as I am loving this thing.
VonnegutFan Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I'm getting in-line at 5 p.m... Tuesday. :)
ryka Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Depends on what I need but if I don't need a computer or laptop probably 3a.m.
VonnegutFan Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Unless I seek refuge in the wilderness.
sheli Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Usually get up at 4am and run to kbtoy store. Probably do the same next year, the computers at dell are such a good deal year round that if i end up needing one I'll get one there instead of staying out al night in the cold....time is money too you know and the thought of 12+ hours out in the cold just to FIGHT for a computer is too miuch for me.
ilovecomputers Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 ill probably get in line when the store opens like this year i still got eveything i wanted :)
kmbrly Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Depending on what the sales are. For a good computer deal I'm not opposed to getting in line around 9pm or so. Has to be a really good deal for me though. LOL
alimfp Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 If there's a BIG electronic item like this year, then I'll be in line at 5pm. If it's just a big item, but not a laptop or anything - 1amish. :)
WAHCHING Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 since this year was my first BF and I went there at 4:30am and the shops open at 6am, and got a 15$ GC at robinsons.. and it was well worth it, so next BF im decided if the sales are good i might go 1 hour earlier.
Seedillume Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 With all the media exposure this year, BF is going to be even more popular next year. A few years ago you could get in line around 1-2AM and be guaranteed a spot in the first 10. This year I visited Best Buy at 11PM and there were already 50 people in line, no laptop for me!People in line said the same thing. At ONE of our Best Buys, #15 got there at 7:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. As far as the laptop, get the one of those $400 Dell laptops....hehe So when Black Friday 2006 rolls around, what's the earliest you'll get in line?I will get there the same time I did this year and get what I can get. I am not going alter my life for "stuff."
viper2ko Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 CC is ****ed up so never going there again, i heard best buy here in dover was veryy organized. Im goin there next year.
stiltman Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Well this year i was at my bb at 10 stright-up and we were 36 and 37. and was amazed WE GOT OUR LAPTOPS!!! :lolrun: :gd_purple :gd_not_ri :gd_shake: the last two! BUT NEXT YEAR WE WILL BE THERE AT 6:00!
Gporter34 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I went to WM at 6pm on Thursday and found out that was a good time to get in line for the laptop. I was first in line for it but by 1am they were all "spoken" for. lol If there is something I want bad enough and it is a good enough deal, I'll gladly do it again. I just hope that 6pm is early enough next year because I'm not willing to go any earlier than that unless it's a HUGE deal!!!
BFJedi Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I hope it is artic cold outside again next year. That seems to increase my chances of getting closer to the front of the line because it helps weed out the weak. :) That's not to say I wasn't fighting to stay warm in my rated-to-minus-10 sleeping bag and Jon-E fuel-driven hand warmer (I need to remember to buy a second one for next year). It was 12 degrees here on BF. It was 70 today. Central Kentucky weather makes no sense. I could conceivably line up at 10pm next year depending on the deal-o-meter.
threelittlecupcakes Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Depends on what is on sale. Hope to try the buy a couple days ahead of time - visit customer service desk for a price adjustment- idea. I will check the week prior at my local stores to make sure they do it.
