I heard a rumor that BEST BUY plans to have another big sale (bigger than BLACK FRIDAY) the week of December 4, 2005 or December 11, 2005...

Anyone else hear about this?

Damn, my BBBs expire on the 5th. :(

Can you go ahead and purchase something before they expire and return it to the store later? If so, they'll probably give you a gift card and then you can use it for "the big sale".

where was this rumor reported at? A news site, forum, bb employee?

Oh and also im seeing on the main news sites (cnn, etc) that BF didn't go that well, was down 1percent from last year and this year their were bigger discounts. So maybe retailers are going to be doing big sales b4 xmas to boost this.

I don't have any BBB so I can't see the terms, but if somebody bought an item with BBB before they expire and then return that item after they expire (let's say the 4th when the big sale is ;) ) would they get an in-store gift card to use?

Yes, since the BBB's have no cash value the returned amount would be credited to a BB giftcard. :gd_devild

You really didnt think you were going to cash back did you? :rotflol:

Actually, I think when you use BBB they deduct the amount of BBB from the item itself. So if you use $15 in BBB on a $20 item, the item price on the receipt shows $5. If you return the item you would get the reduced price, $5, back.

I was told at Best Buy that if I return an item bought with BBB then I would get nothing back, because they treat them as coupons. I would only get credit for any cash I used over and above the amount of BBB. They told me I could not even return defective items that very day for an exchange or credit or anything other than the little bit of money I spent with the BBB's. I used all of mine on BF.

LOL, no, but I thought they would apply it to a gift card thereby recycling the BBB into a GC without an expire date. But... according to the terms -- thanks for the link -- that wouldn't work. And, according to their return terms, you have to have a receipt to get a refund (my next thought was to buy Geek Squad branded items with BBB and return them without a receipt for in-store credit).

Sorry... back on topic.
