Usually what I try to do is get personal stuff they use, you know---lotion, perfume, hair stuff, razors for the older girls, ect. Then something specific they can use for their hobbies. Same for the hubby and the dog gets toys and bones while the horses get carrots and other treats....yes they have stockings too! :insane::g_thumble

My kids don't have stockings (:: hangs head in shame::). Well, they did, but one year I packed them in the same box that also had my snowglobe in it. The snowglobe was packed in styrofoam in its original box, but I guess it got too hot or something over the summer and it busted. Everything in the box was mildewed and ruined. I have never replaced the stockings because I really don't have a good place to hang them up. The kids really haven't seemed to mind. They get plenty of stuff under the tree.

One day when I get a house with a fireplace, I will get new stockings!

My 4-yr old DD, Cailyn, usually gets her favorite candy (MM's), some glitter nail polish and lipgloss, a new box of Crayolas, Christmas activity book, stickers, tattoos, Christmas beanie baby, and a DVD.

I find alot of her stickers and small items here:

For the boys (7 & 4) we get a lot of Hot Wheels and put them in there, but that's because we could never figure anything out. This thread is going to help Santa put different things in there this year! :tongue1: I have no clue what we're going to do for our 10 month old since this is her first Christmas...she'll be exactly 11 months old as she was born on January 25th :D

My son's stocking this year will have a 4 pack of bubblegum, a yo-yo, a bottle of body spray, a giant hershey bar, a mini flashlight, and a pack of writing paper with a dog on it.

My daughter's stocking will have a 4 pack of bubblegum, a squishy ball, a mini flashlight, a hershey chapstick, a giant hershey bar and a bottle of love's baby soft.

I just hope it all fits! :)

I LOVE buying stuff for stockings! In fact, I think I'll be giving them, or at least goody bags, for my nieces, and maybe even parents!

I buy things all year to put in them, so many that some get set aside for Easter baskets.

For my 14 yo girl, she gets girly stuff, makeup, hair stuff, jewelry, sticky pads, cutesy socks, and pens. She has an obsession with cute pens. Last year I bought her so much stuff, that i was able to fill a small tote bag that I was already giving her with stuff too, and put that under the tree!

The boys get little toys, cards, and whatever else I can find. Maybe a toy sword, and probably books.

This year everyone is getting a flashlight and disposable camera. Also sometimes a gift card, and always candy!

DH gets tools, cable ties, Sharpies, and maybe a small gift.

I get little lotions, paper, pens, and this year I need some gloves, so I need to go buy those...

Toothbrushes, small toys, make up for the girls, gloves, hats, personal care stuff, and some candy.

DH is getting an odd variety this year, Wrenches ( they were free on BF after I bought a stud finder) and salt and pepper shaker hammer thingey ( I believe that is the technical name for it ;) ) for the grill so he quuits leaving my goos set outside, some Canadiana souvenier stuff from when I was there on business this year, and some other "treats" ;)

I love doing stockings! My mom still does one for everyone too even the adults.

The fur babies get soft foods, treats and toys.

my daughter's 9, and my son's 10. we usually put little toys, games, socks, chocolates, lipgloss, etc. one yeah we accidentaly put in a game for the ps2 i got them, oops, lol they saw it before even opening the game console, lol

We put a Gamecube game in our son's stocking. He found it and informed us he had a PS2. We 'played dumb' and said we would exchange it; until he unwrapped his Gamecube, LOL.

Anything cute and little that I can find. I picked up a cute little pen that lights up at Wal MArt today for my three year olds stocking

I picked up three of those pens for my kids' stockings, and they're 5, 9 and 14. :elmo:

I thought they were really cute and I know the kids will love 'em.

I put toiletries--new toothbrush, toothpaste, bandaids, shampoo, etc., plus markers, some candy and maybe a pair of mittens. I tried to start a tradition where I put an apple and an orange (always in the toe!) but that didn't go over too big so I gave up on it. Mine are 7 and 5.

For the past few years I would go to my children elementary school and shop at the end of their Holiday Shop once all the kids were done. They always had neat things really inexpensive. With this I would go to the dollar store and get candy, playdo, and other small gifts for them. This year I won't be able to do the holiday shop, but I found a store that has everything between $1 and $5 and they have all kinds of really neat items the kids would like.

My twins are three and daughter is one - candy, little toys (cars, tiny dolls..), and other such items. I am trying not to gift my children with clothing as I remember being disappointed as a child with that sort of thing, lol.

My daughter is 4. She told me she wanted for Christmas- Doodle bear, polly pocket stuff, clothes, and shoes! But this is coming from the same kid that yelled at me for not having her own credit card. Yeah, not kidding. She's 4 going on 14. I'm dreading the teenage years.

Usually I just buy all her gifts, and put whatevers small and will fit, into the stocking. There's always a few dvd's in there. This year she's getting lip gloss (I had no idea this was such a hot stocking item for everyone else too!), small avon hand lotion, dvd's, a few card games (go fish, old maid), a couple of pens with fuzzy stuff on top...and whatever else I can find that I've hidden away and forgotten about. :spamdance

Oh ya, and maybe a $5.00 gift card to wal-mart so she can have her own "credit card".

Man you are all gonna hate me:) Let see my stocking are legendary. Kids vie all year long in order to be on my stocking list and hate to be taken off of it. I only allow 3 people MAX who are not family to hang a stocking. Last year they had Cell Phones, an xbox game, and designer cologne in their stockings along with skateboard equipment like Wheels, a tool, and ceramic bearings ( man that put a dent in my pocket!) and a few little items that I pick up that I think they may need or novelity gifts. This year I am having MP3 players ( my kids get IPODS the other 3 get good quality but not ipods) a game system game, Colonge, some t shirts that I am having made up for their skate team and maybe I will tape a skateboard to the Stocking.
