BrandyJervas Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I need suggestions on what I should get my 6 month old daughter. I bought her a bunch of Peek-a-Blocks sets and some Roll-a-Rounds but I'm at a loss on what else to get her. Any ideas???
wright1baby Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 The Weebles are too cute, Weebles wobble but they don't fall down! Everything old is new again. Care Bears, Cabbage Patch, My Little Pony, and Star Wars. These are all toys I played with when I was young!
Kandy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I remember the Weebles when they were not 6 month old friendly. They used to be about the size of a silly putty container. What about a pooh doll or one of the convertable walker, ride on toys.
ajburlingame Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Books. The kind that have cardboard pages not paper ones, with only a picture and a few words per page. These were great for my daughter. At first she wasn't interested but then she began to love them. She is 15 months old now and still goes and gets those first few books that I used to read to her and wants me to read them all of the time. They are a great investment.
SuperMommy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 The Baby Einstein videos/DVDs are great!! They are very educational and are loved by children. They are reccomended for children ages 0-3 years.
BrandyJervas Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Are weebles 6 month old friendly when I was little they were for 18m+?? I was thinking of a care bear or two w/ the DVD from walmart on BF. We have a Baby Einstein that a friend got for her but my son was more interested than she was I liked it though. Thanks for the ideas keep 'em coming.

mjmcca Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Do you have an exersaucer for her already? That is always a lot of fun for kids that age. Sorry for the multiple posts.
ebony0421 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I can't give you specific toys, but when I was in Walmart on Sunday, there were alot of toys made by Fisher Price and Playskool. They had almost the entire aisle on both sides.
Mommie2one Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 In all honesty, a 6month old won't really know whats going on! Any fisher price baby toy she would love. The more colorful the better.
holly2hottie Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Teethers, bath toys, Fisher price little people
sigrist_2000 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 maybe clothes...for later cuz she will grow really fast
marleann Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Some items selling fast for that age are Baby Tad or Baby Lily, the baby can hug them and learn from them when they press the buttons. Drop and Roar Dinasuar by Fisher Price is also flying off the shelf.
BrandyJervas Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 I have the exersaucer from when I had my son and she loves the thing I'm lucky I can get her out of it. I did get her some clothes but that's my mom's fav thing to buy for the kids so I don't wanna get too many. I got my son all sorts of cool toys for his 1st christmas but they had cool boy toys I just don't see that many really cool girls toys. I'll check walmart again tomorrow maybe they have some new stuff.
BrandyJervas Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 we got the drop n roar for her for christmas I hope she likes it and my son has baby tad but shes not interested in him yet. These are great ideas I wish she wasn't so spoiled then I'd know what to get.
marleann Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Have you seen the little couches that fold out or even the little beanbags? I think the Disney Princess one is darling. I have seen alot of babies sitting in the beanbags and climbing on them.
nick_jenni_jocelyn Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I agree with Supermommy, the baby einstein videos are great! I bought my daughter her first one at age 4 months and she is now almost 3 and still loves them! I would recommend Baby Mozart as a first one.
mrsbmb Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I made my own book for my kids when they were little. i bought a picture album with the peel open pages/static type.. then i cut all sorts of pictures out of magazines i did one page of body parts..eyes arms leggs, hair.. another page of family pictures, a toy page. food page etc. it was fun to sit her in my lap and point and say the words that go to the pictures. they loved those books. and they learned words in no time. they may not be able to talk much but eventually when you open a page and ask where is the eye they will point at it, after you have gone through the book a million times. any toys are good that are age appropriate. this book was taylor made with things they liked and people they knew. you can do doctors nurses, mailmen police also.. kathy
Jenniferharrison82 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 maybe clothes...for later cuz she will grow really fastI agree, when my son was that little I blew a bunch of money on stuff he didnt play with. But someone else said something about little einstein which would also be good...just my opinion
allforfaith Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I have a one year old daugher who we bought the fisher price peek-a-block shape sorter for, she still adores that, and just a big bouncy ball.
BrandyJervas Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Thanks so much for all the ideas they're all great now what to choose what to choose
Spotted1 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Musical Rocking Pony My DD was 1 when it got it for her for Christmas last year, but I wish I'd had a reason to buy it for her sooner. She's almost 2 and still plays with it. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2621802
little*miss*a Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 My kids loved the Fisher Price Learning home. They still love it in fact. :)
eggsngrits Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Besides perhaps a few books to look at, why would you want to get a six month old anything else? She's too young to enjoy toys... she enjoys mommy and daddy the most, right? Save your money for the future!
blakes_mommy Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Clothes and put some baby food under the tree. Trust me as mom of 3, the time will come for a million presents and an empty bank account! The baby will have no idea and won't ask in the future!!!
