bfaddict1977 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I don't know if these are door busters per say but I do know you cannot get them anywhere else right now until bf at walmart so I'm calling them door busters. How many of the toys and rapunzel comforter sets do they usually get in? Like the fisher price toy piano and castle and train....how many of those. Just a few on a tower or many? I've never gone out bf shopping with clear intent as to what I really wanted/needed until this year so I'm counting on getting these items. Also, how many cameras and 7 in picture frames do they get in? Thanks.
Lusha121 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 it depends on the location, some will get 20 of one item and another store 10 miles away will get 5. it varries item to item also. expect small quantities of the big ticket items, and a bunch of toasters ect. they will have less of the "loss leader items" and more of the items that they don't loose oney on. make cents? (bad joke)
lukesmom01 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Probably will have plenty of the picture frames. Every year at my Wamart they have like a hundred of them and I don't live in that big of a town.
catholicbride11 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 It really depends on the store. In my experience they have a pallet full of the smaller toys, limited quanities of the ride on type toys/bikes and plenty of the houseware things. I hope you are bringing a team with you because it is nearly impossible to get everything you want solo if you are wanting toys and houseware things. Good luck to you! Wal-mart can be crazy, but for me it is always worth it and I am out the door in under 30 mins with everything I want.
bfaddict1977 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 if I focus mainly on the toys though should be doabale right? I've been there several years ago heavily pg and with 3 small kids and I didn't have issues. I figure I won't this time either. I don't have anyone else:(
chrisjuvers Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 toys are crazy to get at our 2 super walmarts. I try to bring people with me but if you can't do that, I usually ask someone who is by the pallet what they want and sometimes you can find two items that you both want. Grab one for that person & yourself and have them go to another pallet and then swap. Since the pallets are close to each other ask someone if they could PLEASE grab one for you. I always grab for others and people I have asked always say yes..good luck getting it!
bfaddict1977 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Thanks! I'll def keep this in mind. We are leaving at 8 pm for walmart. Figure if sale starts at 10 I'm going to scope out the store. Can we put items in our carts before 10?
happyfrog Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 some things you can put in your cart early. just depends on the item and if it's easy to access. if it's covered in black plastic and sealed up, i don't mess with it. some of the houseware stuff isn't sealed up. just depends. i must admit, i prefer doing black friday waiting inside vs outside. i stay much warmer and drier at walmart. :) this year, i'm seriously considering seeing if i can do most of the doorbuster stuff online just for a change of pace. esp if it can be purchased early thursday morning vs waiting til thursd night. (meal to cook, friends to visit, etc. *grin*)
1whodatdare Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Thanks! I'll def keep this in mind. We are leaving at 8 pm for walmart. Figure if sale starts at 10 I'm going to scope out the store. Can we put items in our carts before 10?I think it depends on the store. Typically the items are brought out on skids but have a large cardboard box on them until the hour they are supposed to go on sale. However, some stores bring them out a little early and then all heck breaks loose. We've been to a walmart where the shoppers literally just begin ripping the boxes open and start taking things with little to no control. The movies/video games are usually mauled right away. Same with the pajamas. They toys typically come out right around the exact time. Bigger items (like GPS units) that don't need a ticket or separate line usually have someone from WM guarding it until it is time. They take off the cardboard and back away. Again, depends on where you are. Organization isn't the same everywhere you go. Be careful, and good luck!
BlackFriDiva Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I wonder if the Pulse Scooter (electric one) will be a hot item this year? It's just going to be me and my sister and we need several of the toys. I know she will man the station for getting the bikes, I'm doing the scooter, but we also need things like the vtech game and other misc. toys. We need about 5 more people
mom2monkiesx3 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Depends on your location 100% my local smalltown walmart actually ends up marking DOWN alot of those doorbuster items a week or so after BF because they didn't sell them! Keep your reciepts just in case :)
bfaddict1977 Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 I'm going to get there plenty early to make sure I know where to go and what I want. Those toys are number 1 on my list. Thanks for the tips about mark down too!
princesschaos13 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I need to get the $29 bike. Do they usually have a lot of bikes? They obviously can't be on a pallet so how does that work?

laniebean Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 we live between Reno Nv.. ( they have 5 WM in that area) and a small town in northern Ca. I have seen that the small town walmart is not as busy and many times have lots of stuff left at the end of the sale.. last year I did not get my jammies and barbies till the tuesday after and they were still the BF sale price.
laniebean Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 in past years the bike came in a box and had to be assembeled... so yes they were on a pallet.
princesschaos13 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 in past years the bike came in a box and had to be assembeled... so yes they were on a pallet.thanks. i guess that makes more sense lol! well hopefully that means there will be plenty. i've never had any trouble getting anything from any of the pallets.
mks18412 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 In the past my Walmart would allow you to put items in your cart and start checking out at the time the sale started. The sale would start at 5 am and we would be checking out by 5:10.
starbeck96 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 At our store we had to wait until they unwrapped them at the time specified. But every store is different.
