Mara Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Just wondering if you will spend more this year on BF or less or the same amount :) Mara
SuperMommy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Probably will spend the same on everyone else. But will spend more on me and hubby (things we want mutually) since he just got a new job a couple months ago that came with a raise!!! We are going to treat ourself!!
Booterbunz Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I'll be spending less this year..last year I went way overboard since it was dd's first Christmas and hubby was leaving for Iraq a couple of days afterwards!
erh12275 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 We will be spending much less than last year...simply because hubby makes half as much here as he did there and I am not working...so money is TIGHT.
Gporter34 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I will probably spend more because the sales are better so far. Last year there weren't as many goodies at WM that I wanted.lol
outnumbered Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Probably more this year; there seems to be more I'm interested in this year.
Mara Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 It will be more for us this year. I have those 2 XBOX 360's to sell on ebay on launch day and a month before they release pre orders on ebay are going for close to $800 they cost $399. I ordered them to sell just for BF money so looking like it will be a good year lol Mara

But it works nicely for you.
floridasun5 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 MUCH less than last year. Previous years I just spent and spent without worrying about how much I was spending. This year we are remodeling our house, I just got a new car and everyone just doesnt need all the junk that is out there.
laffnatu Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Probably a little less... depends on how Staples sales ad looks. And there's not a lot at WM that I have to have this year. We did the trampoline last year and just bought son another tv last month. He got stuck with our 17 yr old floor model He was happy when it finally died. lol
pcsoon Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Hopefully less, but it depends on the deals and if I get caught up in the BF buying frenzy. I still have somethings from last years BF sale that I'm giving this year.:)
Jenniferharrison82 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Probably about the same, unless I come across some things I can't pass up.
elena_398 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Every year the kids get older, therefore the cost of gifts go up! My son is going to be 11 in november and isn't into toys anymore. he wants electronics. Right there the cost of christmas went up for me!
PhotoNutAmber Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Definately more this year. Hubby makes quite a bit more this year than he did last year and I've been savin :). I have a check coming in the mail for about 350 dollars that is not acct'ed for so its all being spent on BF (probably). Plus... this is the first year my son is really old enough to care about getting gifts. And the first year I haven't been like "what in the world am I going to get this kid??". Now I see a ton of stuff I want to get him. He turned two in July. Amber
alimfp Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Definitely more this year!! Last year was slim in the financial dept.. this year shouldn't be (and I should have even more if I'd get a job, lol). :)
elena_398 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Bonus checks for my husband comes in the first week of Decemeber :) Gotta Love those end of the year bonus checks!
treasure60 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I will more than likely spend less this year. I have been been saving points from surveys or reward sites for products or g/c. I also have been buying things when they are on sale or clearance. And my big day of buying is on BF.
HBKitmitto Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Last year I was preggers with my daughter Bella. She was born Dec 3rd and she took all of our money for things like a crib, swing, diapers and all that. We had almost no money for Christmas. Didn't even get atree that year. We fondly refer to last year as The Year Bella Stole Christmas. This year will be MUCH better. Both kids already have a huge stash of presents in our closet and hey hubby and I might even splurge this year and actually get eachother some gifts!!! lol
ajburlingame Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Less....we have a 15 month old daughter and I am having another baby in Feb. 2006 so we have decided to cut way back this year. We have talked with some friends and agreed not to buy for each other this year and we are cutting back on buying for the family. I am very excited about shopping on BF and hope to make my Holiday purchases for as little money as possible while having lots of fun!!
jadedmomof2 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 About the same, I'm just spending the money wiser.
copados1993 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 This year I am REALLY trying to make my dollars stretch farther! I'm trying to read up on things BEFORE I go to the store. I have a terrible habit of buying just to buy. Plus, I don't use credit for Christmas. IThat way I ONLY spend what I really can afford to !!!!!!! Anyone have any good ideas how to save a little money, but still have a great holiday???
Druid_GR Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Depends on what kind of deal I can find on a Plasma, LCD, or DLP TV :)
Tracy72 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I am probably going to be spending more....everything for dd1 is 70bucks or more..lol
TheDude Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 More, mostly because I'll be shopping for computer stuff.
ebony0421 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I don't know yet how much I will spend because there are fewer stores where I live now, but I will have fun spending whatever I spend. :g_dance:
