  1. We have to choose because of the distance between our families and ourselves for that matter. We are currently in Los Angeles and my family is in Illinois and his is in Oklahoma/Texas area so every other year we switch off between Christmas and Thanksgiving. This year we will spend Christmas in Illinois and next year we will spend it in Oklahoma/Texas. We normally would spend Thanksgiving in Oklahoma/Texas but don't have the money to do both this year. Christmas won out :). Amber
  2. Search cafepress.com not always the cheapest, but you should certainly be able to find lots with penguins. Anytime I need something "original" that's where I look. I have ordered from them tons and have never had any problems, although my mil did and she said the customer service was great and fixed her "problem" immediately. Anyhow, if you wait for a few more days they will be doing free shipping for orders over 50 bucks (I'm a shopkeeper there and find out about upcoming "promotions" usually a few days ahead of time). These sheets from Kmart are really cute. From Target there is a whole penguin line of bathroom decor. There is also a DVD/CD holder and matching speakers. Target also has a sheet set for a little less and the also carry a "matching" down throw/blanket. I'm not sure who your target is, but they also carry a penguin stocking. If you order from target.com don't forget to take advantage of the ten percent off code. They also have some other things for the home including but not limited to, cocktail shakers, humidifiers, and lawn decorations all shaped like a penguin click here. Of course you can always check out the penguin gift shop. or browse over to the penguin ware house and buy the loved one in your life their very own penguin... I wish I was kidding... I'm thinking this has to be a hoax... but not seeing anything to point me in that direction. Could you imagine You could get one for less than 900 dollars. :) In a more direct response I did find some slippers :). Scroll to the bottom of the page. Amber
  3. This is what I'm sending out this year. Shot this a couple days ago. My son's Christmas Picture. Not Perfect, but not too bad. My family will enjoy it. I wasn't sure if I could put the picture directly into the image or not, so I didn't. Amber ~ Okay so I'm just a proud mommy showing off .
  4. I also have to justify having the SLR and all that camera equipment and do my own pictures. They normally turn out really good. I got a green screen recently that I'm looking forward to using. I'm going to try tomorrow for the pictures. :) I get mine printed through Mpix.com. I absolutely love their service. The prints are awesome. Amber
  5. Starting at a dollar! http://www.everstoystore.com/evers/catalog.cfm?dest=dir&linkid=126&linkon=subsection Amber
  6. PCSoon I have inlaws like that and I can normally find something at thingsremembered.com (currently having their BOGO sale) or at redenvelope.com (15% off code: REDA363757). Hope this helps! Amber
  7. Definately more this year. Hubby makes quite a bit more this year than he did last year and I've been savin :). I have a check coming in the mail for about 350 dollars that is not acct'ed for so its all being spent on BF (probably). Plus... this is the first year my son is really old enough to care about getting gifts. And the first year I haven't been like "what in the world am I going to get this kid??". Now I see a ton of stuff I want to get him. He turned two in July. Amber
  8. I am having the same problem. I know I am getting mine a nice coat this year (I know how boring!). I'm also going to pick him up some "sleepy" pants (flannel hopefully). Otherwise... I'm not sure. He's so hard to buy for. Last year I got him the charger (I think its called Ijuice or Igo or something from Radio Shack) for his laptop/pda/cell phone and the accessories he needed for it. I got them half off :). Of course since then he has changed laptops and now has a pda/cell phone together... Oh well... he just had to go out and get new tips for it. I would love idea's for what to get him. He's not into sports either so... ?? Amber
  9. Hey outnumbered, If you email me at: photonutamber AT yahoo DOT com I will send them to you a couple of jpg's at a time. If you'd like. Put GottaDeal in the subject line so I will see it and not delete it though. Amber
  10. I think that sbhiggins has a great idea in wrapping the presents. Going straight to someone's home and wrapping gifts together would be a great way to talk and laugh about the day plus knock out some work. How great would it be to go home and not worry about the kids or husband for that matter peeking in the bags before you get the presents wrapped. Amber
  11. I'm pretty sure last year they had some really good deals. I think they had a really nice leather jacket for like 40 bucks and such. Supposed msrp was like 150 dollar jacket. That's the only one I can remember lol. It was the only one I was interested in, too bad I woke up with a migraine last year. I've been planning on going the last two years for BF and something has come up both years. So this is my first year. Amber So that post really veered off the subject lol but I just couldn't hold in my excitement.
  12. I supported the FSG (Family Support Group... like FRG 'cept for the Navy.. my husband was honorably discharged in July) last year and let them wrap part of my gifts. Not on BF though. I think it was about a week before Christmas. By that time I'm almost sick of wrapping gifts anyhow... worked out great. Off topic: My husband would love this blinkie Amber
  13. I put one of the chair/sleeping bag things on layaway and talked to the lady back in layaway and she said as long as I picked it up on Black Friday during the sale hours they would honor those prices. They had all those chair/sleeping bag things in a big bin in "action alley" (one of the main aisles). Today they had already put them all up on the top of the shelves. Hmm... I got an employee to snag one for me and I put it back on layaway along with a few other things. Anyhow... the whole point of this was... I would check with your specific walmart and see what/how they interpret their policy. Amber My walmart had tons of the $20 dollar hummers stored along the walls in the men's clothing deparment. My two year old was so excited when he saw them ... "brrrrummm... brrummm... car... truck.." lol
