Columbus, OH is just South enough that we hardly ever really get hugely impacted by snowstorms. And I can't remember the last time we've gotten any kind of measurable snow in November.

Chicagoans are famous for blizzards...I think the Bears would still play in that weather....

I live in the Northeast part of Ohio..Sorta between Youngstown and Cleveland. We are pretty used to Blizzard type weather and stores or businesses are always open.

Well here it's in the 90's today....by December it should be cold(according to them) in the 60's. If a blizzard happened here HEdoublehockeysticks would have to be freezing over!

They would be open and I would walk or ride a four wheeler if I had too!!

:sidesplit I would probably walk and pull a little red wagon if I had to. lol There are certainly things that would keep me home on BF but I don't think weather would be one of them.

Blizzards don't happen here.. nor most any other advisory. When something does happen, it's just a lot of rain and some flooding usually.

But if something did happen, I think stores would just open as usual and say, "Come if you can.."

It would have to be a really bad storm to close down things around here. We get snow storms and ice storms, but I'm talking everything would have to be frozen over, power would have to be out, etc. before things would shut down like that.

Ahhh...we are used to that here! Put a sled behind the snowmobile and head out! LOL. Heck, the schools don't even close for bad blizzards here, the stores definately wouldn't (as long as they had power)

We actually had an ice storm about 4 years ago. It was terrible, I feel sorry for those who have to suffer those things. Our WalMart had a small section roped off by the registers to sell batteries, candles, and a few food items. When their generator went out, they had to close.

I hate black ice too. Now if I remember right, one year there was that. Hated it because you never could see where the slick spots were. I believe that was on Thanksgiving day though

I'm guessing folks would trade in cars for Snowmobiles. I know that in blizzards before, I've taken my sled to school, work, and even to the grocery store for supplies. Looks pretty odd in a metro area of 125,000 here, but it's whatever it takes to get the job done right?;)

We were lucky in 2003. A lake-effect snowstorm hit here in South Bend, IN, on Thanksgiving dumping nearly 8 inches of snow. But the next day there were still a lot of people lining up in front of stores for Black Friday. Most of our roads were cleared out very quickly once the snow stopped so it was not a problem to go out. But it was really, really cold!

I live about 2 miles from our WalMart and shopping center, so, I can actually see myself leaving early and driving about 5 miles an hour if I had to. I would probably just roll the window down and stick my head out so that I could see and worry about thawing out when I got there.lol
