I've got you beat on that one. I haven't been to Wal-Mart in over ten years, and there are two Wal-Mart stores close to my house. I just come to the Wal-Mart threads to catch up on the latest gossip and complaints. As for the C&D letter, I'm really surprised it took them so long.

Does anyone know how long this extra 50% off sale will be going on?

If this works the same way all the other semi-annual sales have worked at BBW, some of the items will get marked down more (ie from 50 % off to 75 % off) and some won't. Usually, every week of the sale different items will get put on sale, some of the previous week's items won't be on sale any longer, and some of the previous items will still be on sale possibly at a bigger markdown percentage. Normally, the sale changes on Monday, but during the last semi-annual sale (last June) the new week started on Thursday instead.

BBW's semi-annual sale started today and ends on January 16. The stores in my area didn't have too much out that interested me, but I did manage to find a few items I wanted. I don't remember everything that was on sale, but here's a partial list of items on sale here: some of the older fragrances are back that come back during the sale like Country Apple (I think they are on sale for $3), some of the holiday hand soap fragrances were 75% off (Twisted Peppermint, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Candy Apple), the Winter Cranberry hand soap was 50% off, the holiday fragrances of shower gels and lotions were 50% off, the Lemon Vanilla lotion and shower gel was 75% off, a few of the Patricia Wexler items (all I remember was tinted moisturizer and Intensive 3 in 1 serum) were 75% off, some of the pocket bacs (White Citrus, Orange Sapphire, Midnight Pomegranate, the remaining halloween and christmas fragrances plus a few others) were 50% off, the Orange Sapphire hand soap and the figural Market Apple hand soap were 75% off, some of the hand soaps (Sunburst Tangerine, Fresh Linen, and a few others) were 50% off, Lemon & Orange Blossom body wash was 75% off, some of the Scentportables (Pomegranate Lemonade, Apple, and a few others) were 75% off... that's all I can remember. Also, some of this varies by store.

The Santa Clause

The stores here sell the K Cups at the same prices, but Bed Bath and Beyond has the best selection and you can use their 20% off coupons for the K Cups.

I bought the Mr. Coffee one that's made by Keurig a couple of weeks ago when Target was offering a $20 gift card when you bought it because it was cheaper than the other ones ($80), and so far I really like it. I haven't had the chance to try too many of the varieties yet, but the ones I like so far are Newman's Own Special Blend Extra Bold, Green Mountain Donut House Chocolate Glazed Donut, Green Mountain Dark Magic, and Timothy's Decaf Columbian. Yesterday, I ordered several sample size packs from Keurig's web site so I could try some different flavors.

Freebird, I don't know how popular the Ipod deal is going to be at Toys R Us this year, but my suggestion to you is to call your store and speak to the store manager on Monday or Tuesday and ask him how many Ipods will the store have for the Black Friday sale. Then base your game plan on that information. If your store only has a small quantity of the Ipods, I would suggest lining up outside at 3 or 4 pm. But that really depends on how many Black Friday shoppers there are in your area. Last year, I arrived at Toys R Us late (a few minutes before 11 pm) because I didn't need any of the hot items, and there were at least 200 people already in line. According to a store employee, people started lining up around 5 pm. Like the others have posted, around 11 pm or so, an employee came down the line and asked if anyone wanted one of the hot items and handed out slips for those items to any of the customers who wanted them.

According to Rock Band's web site, you can use the Band Hero instruments to play any of the Rock Band games (except Green Day) on the Wii. You can use basically any USB microphone to play the Rock Band games. The other day, I found a game with a microphone for the PS2 at Gamestop, and it works fine with my Rock Band games (RB 2, Lego RB, and Beatles RB) on the Wii. I've never used the Band Hero instruments, but we use Guitar Hero 3 guitar, RB guitar, RB drums, RB microphone, and two microphones from other games to play RB and have never had any issues. I'm in a weird mood today, so I have to nominate "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians".

I don't know about the bags other BBW stores got this summer (I think it was in July, but could have been August.), but the bags the stores in my area got had Dark Kiss as the featured fragrance. Maybe the bags we got were a mistake or something, but the one I got had Dark Kiss in it as did the display bag at the store. I remember because Dark Kiss is one of the fragrances I don't care for, but I bought the bag anyway because my DH wanted some of the items in the bag, and I knew one of my friends would enjoy Dark Kiss.
