Tracy72 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 do you all prefer to have a white christmas or does it really matter to you....I like a little snow but not a lot...I need to get off my hill that day....lol
DealFreak05 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I love a whole lot of snow, blizzards are the best. I want what Buffalo had a few years back, 7 feet of snow. Not for Black Friday, I couldn't even get out of the house.
diane175 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 We don't get a white Christmas that often, but when we do I am sooo happy! I love having snow!
DealFreak05 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 We don't get a white Christmas that often, but when we do I am sooo happy! I love having snow!Southern Illinois? Sounds like a place that gets alot of snow, hmm.. What kind of weather do you have around then?
treasure60 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 There is 4 x's during the year that I want snow: Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Valentine's Day. But in Maine that isn't likely to be the only 4 days with SNOW!
lauralee Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I love Christmas with snow--we have had it the last three Christmases in a row. Hope we do again this year.
outnumbered Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I'm still kinda new to the concept of a white Christmas and I just love it when it happens. :)
rldelo Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I become less and less interested in white christmases each year.....it's a romantic idea I'd be happy to just see in the movies :)
RossMAN Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I would love a white Christmas but it's highly unlikely here.
outnumbered Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I become less and less interested in white christmases each year.....it's a romantic idea I'd be happy to just see in the movies :)I like snow...as long as I don't have to drive in it. The whole star trek warp speed effect freaks me out. (snow coming at you as you are driving through it...looks like you are shooting through space or something) And ice on the road makes me really nervous. I'm not used to that at all. It was only last year that I even got behind the wheel if there was snow on the ground. This year I am not going to have the option of staying home though LOL.
josetann Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 It was a big deal to me when I was a kid. I remember one year the forecast was pretty grim, virtually no chance for snow on Christmas. Then when we woke up on Christmas, it had snowed quite a bit (well, quite a bit being at least a few inches). Thought that was something. It's harder to get into the Christmas spirit now as an adult, but once we have kids I think it'll be even better than when I was a kid myself.
MrsHoneybee Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I would love a white Christmas but it's highly unlikely here.Yep same...though this is my 4th year of being in America and having winter during Christmas. It was nice when we got snow...and getting extra days off work for "snow days"...probably won't happen again for maybe another 5 years or so. :)
Gumball Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I like just enough to cover the grass and be able to make a small snowman. And only on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The rest of the year I could do without it completely.
Shann Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 blecc no snow for me, please. Grew up in the midwest and enjoy the 1/4 day of snow we get here a year and that works well for me, if I want more (which I don't) I can go to the mountains, but I'm perfectly happy not having snow on Christmas, I wouldn't mind spending time on the beach in my bathing suit on Christmas
kmbrly Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Not likely to happen here. LOL Snow's pretty to look at, but having to get out in it to carry day to day business is miserable. I'm not really gonna miss it. (Or the winter depression for that matter) While you guys are (freezing and) enjoying the snow, I'll plop my butt out on the beach... Then we can all be happy.. LOL
abram87 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Wouldn't bet on it, but it would be great if that happened!
orangedaisy Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I love the snow, but I do hate having to get around in it. That said, I'd take a white Christmas over driving from one house to another any day. It would be the perfect excuse not to have to go visit a million people.
biomajor Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I never want to see another white/icy christmas again!! It makes driving to my mother's house impossible and wrecks my perfectly good car.
ajbrowns Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 We've not had ANY snow here since 1993. We did have one Christmas a few years before that were we had a dusting of snow. I have gotten so used to no snow that it doesn't even matter anymore. Amie
starshine Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I live in NY and I hate the snow! I can live without snow all year round. I could live without on Christmas also. Driving in snow is like driving to hell I hate it my hands hurt when I get out of the car from the death grip I have on the wheel. I try to stay home as much as possible in the winter.
boudmel Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I grew up in the midwest and love the snow at Christmas however now that I live in southern MS we rarely if ever get snow - BUT last year we actually had snow flurries on Christmas Day! My kids loved it!!! I made sure to take lots of pictures and filmed with the video camera.
Gporter34 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I love the snow and it's just a Bonus when we get it on Christmas. Last year it started snowing on Christmas Eve and snowed into the night. It made a great Christmas perfect.
elena_398 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Snow is fine as long as there is no ice and the roads are clear.
brynnfromtheblock Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I would love to have Snow on Christmas, but that's not very likely here in South Florida
StephanieD Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I guess this is a case of the 'grass is always greener on the other side'. The people who get snow regularly can do without it and the ones who never get it want it. I'm one of the ones who doesn't get it. I grew up in Mississippi and we would get snow once in a blue moon...I'm in Louisiana now and no snow. I want snow so bad!
elena_398 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Im in Ohio and weather here is very fickle. One year it will be a snowstorm and the next just cold. I just hate the ice storms we get
BFQueenofNY Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I really have no choice. Chances of not having snow on Christmas are slim to none in parts of NY west of Syracuse
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Southern Illinois? Sounds like a place that gets alot of snow, hmm.. What kind of weather do you have around then?Yeah. You would think we got a lot. But surprisingly enough, we only get REAL bad snow storms once in a great while. We may get a little snow before christmas, but not alot and the snow is usually in jan and feb.
AuntJamelle Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I love having snow for Christmas. The past couple of years we have had some, if not alot, of snow. Usually it doesn't start to really snow here in northern Indiana until January or February. But we've been seeing signs of a early and hard winter here so we may get snow in December again this year too. I love it when it snows on Christmas Eve! That happened a couple of years ago and I was just enchanted! I'm like a kid about Christmas!
mrn8 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I like to have snow by Thanksgiving, because I ski and hunt, so it's a bonus for both!
