  1. That's terrible! Our store was super organized. They came through the line around 6:30pm, gave us vouchers for the correct phone/carrier/color and scheduled our appointments right there if we wanted them. I was even able to schedule two separate appointments for our two phones (since we both can't go at the same time). So then we just had to wait for the doors to open, go to the counter and exchange the voucher for a confirmation ticket. For everyone's reference, the deal is good all day on Friday, not just as a door-buster. And more than one associate said they have plenty and won't run out, even later in the day. That's just the word on the street at our store, but if you're in the market for this phone and don't want to stand in line on Friday morning, you could always risk it and just stop in later in the day. This was the greatest Black Friday (a little early) deal I have EVER gotten, so thanks to everyone that provided the info!!!!!!
  2. The savings for me was in the phones. We were going to buy 2 of these phones this month anyway, 200/ each, so $400 total. I don't care about the membership or the upgrade perks (extended hours, discounts, etc) from SAMs. Maybe someone else can comment on that value - I probably won't step foot in that store again during my membership period. Minus the membership, i saved $320. I could have waited and just done the $40 membership and Friday sale. But it was worth the extra $40 to not have to worry about the crowds. I got there at 6pm, doors opened at 8pm, and I was back in my car by 8:15. It was totally worth it! I have an appointment to go back on Wednesday to set up our phones.
  3. Got my membership and invite this afternoon. Also received a $20 GC promo today, so it really worked out to $80 for membership. Talked to cell phone manager while there and she said they have "plenty" of GS3s. They will give vouchers and appointment times to anyone that doesn't want to wait in line to activate tonight. She said appointments would be Mon, Tues and Wed only. That's the word at our store in Ohio. I'm going to leave in a few minutes to go wait in line. Good luck to me!

Thanks for the ad, this was the one I was waiting for. But too bad, I don't see Cricut cartridges this year, so I don't think I'll be going.
  5. You should be able to look at your account online, it will tell you if you are eligible or not. At least that's how our verizon account works.
  6. I called back to the same Reynoldsburg Sam's and this morning got a different story. The manager of the cell phone department said the person I talked to last night was mistaken. She says that we can come in with one membership and get phones for anyone on our Verizon plan. So, there are two of us on the one plan, and I just need to show up with my membership and can purchase two phones. So, the stories continue to evolve! I'd say the best bet is to call or go talk to your local store's manager before the event and get the story. Take names and notes and hope that it works out for you! I also confirmed that I can come in up until they close on Sunday at 6pm to purchase an upgraded membership and be allowed to to come to the event on Sunday night at 8pm. Also, I felt a bit better after asking the question, "Can I get a full refund for the membership if I wait in line and actually don't get a phone?" and was told yes. I suppose you could do the same thing even if you were successful but didn't care about the membership (ethical decision for you - I wouldn't). So, as dejected as I was last night, this morning I'm feeling better about the deal!

So, as dejected as I was last night, this morning I'm feeling better about the deal! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Original Post: I just called our SAMs for the info, and here is what I was told: -yes, will need a SAMs membership in order to purchase a phone. -1 phone PER MEMBERSHIP. So, for the two of us to buy our phones, even thought were in the same household and same shared plan, we have to buy 2 memberships in order to buy two phones. -they are giving vouchers for the phones, so you can purchase it and then come back within some period of time to get everything transferred over to the new phone, that is if you don't want to stand there and wait to do it. I don't think it's worth it. That's now $80 in membership cost to MAYBE get the phones on Friday, or $200 for the plus membership to MAYBE get phones on Sunday. Well see, but I don't think we will play that game. Someone will do a B1G1 or something during the holidays that will involve less risk and standing in line time. Bummer. The store I called was in Reynoldsburg, OH.
  8. The .96 Galaxy S3 at SAMs. That's going to save us $360 (400 - 40 for a membership) if we can score two. I'm curious how they'll handle activation; it's not like the process is ever quick. But it's worth the try given the savings. We want to stay with Verizon, so this deal looks like our only option so far. We're actively looking at new phones and are out of contract, so it's perfect timing. Two years ago my phone was ruined during a rainy wait outside a TRU on Black Friday, so now well always be ready for our upgrades around this shopping holiday .
  9. I don't have personal experience, but on a scrapbooking message board that I read, many people dealt with credit card fraud as a result of using this site. Google Cricut Machine fraud, and you'll see several threads about it. People can say whatever they want to say on a message board, so you don't really know exactly how many people were really involved, but it has resurfaced at least twice that I'm aware of - both around a holiday and one of their big sales.
  10. Thanks! I was just looking for a similar item - great timing and savings!
  11. I just got an email that said my order is ready to be shipped. It includes all the clearance items I ordered (towels, potholder/towel combos, and table runners).
  12. WOW! I just checked the online clearance on the Kohl's site. There are several holiday towel sets, towel/potholder sets and table runners for PENNIES! I just ordered 10 towels, 10 tablerunners, and 10 towel/potholder sets, used the NOCHARGE code for free shipping and EXTRA20 for an extra 20% off. My total with tax was $15.89! All of my finds were in the Homestore section, in the Seasonal subsection.
  13. I used the code EXTRA20 today and received 20% off my order. I didn't use a Kohl's card - just my regular credit card. I saw something about this code being tied to using a Visa, but I didn't use that, either. It worked fine with the combo of a gift card and my usual credit card. By the way, I ordered a Food Network knife block 14 piece cutlery set, on sale for 129.99 (regular 219.99). The additional 20% off took it down to 103.99. I got free shipping, and it has a $30 mail-in rebate. So, in the end, I'll have the set for about $75. I'm happy :).
  14. I didn't really see much that I wanted this year, so I knew it would be a brief trip. I went to Meijer on Thursday for the Wii Fit and a couple of other doorbusters, so I didn't need to look for those items on Friday. I went to Lowe's first. Got a dewalt kit (only 3 left when I got there, and I was not that far back in the line) and 20 of the B1G1F storage totes. That's for the garage cleaning project that will take the rest of the weekend. Then I went to Walgreens and was first in line. Got my porch trees and a tiny TV (have the perfect place for it), and that was it. I went to Macy's, Office Max and a few other stops, but didn't find any must haves. Since I wasn't going to any high-demand stores, I had a pretty easy time getting from parking lot to parking lot throughout the day.
  15. I'm pleasantly surprised to see this ad. We moved this year and now have a HPB just down the street. I'll definitely stop there on BF morning.
