Do you by a gift for yourself on BF?

While shopping on black friday do you find yourself buying something you want and can't pass it up cause the price is SOOOO GREAT? Maybe treat youyrself to a gift for doing all the running on the busiest day of the year or does your spouse/significant other tell you to get what you want and he/she will pay for it? My mom hates to shop for me so I always end up picking out my own gift so to save her money I look on BF to see if there is something I want and I will get it and take it to here and say, "Here Mom this is what you just bought me for Christmas!" I do this for my birthday too since it is in December! Needless to say I am rarely surprised on either day but I don't have to take back something I don't like or worse keep something I don't like!!!

Not a gift per say but I definitely pick up things that I want for the house, myself or dh just because it's a good price. Last year I got some small appliances, a very cool flashlight, sweat pants.

I'm SUPPOSED to be gift shopping for others, but I think that I get the best gifts--especially since my sons aren't old enough to get me presents, I get presents for me from them. I must say, they have really good taste when it comes to buying me presents. One of the overlooked perks of being a single parent.

I've been known to buy gifts for myself then let the kids give it to me on christmas day. My mom did the same thing growing up. They never know what to get me and/or sizes. So I personally pick out what I want, then dad tells the kids what "he" got then they wrap it. Kids don't know I do this, but this ensures I get what I want. Thats great for me. (Of course my husband every year gets me my $100 gift certificate to the spa I like)

yeah, its a safe gift for him to get! Its a hair salon and spa. I usually have to add another $50 or so when I go in there. I get all the bells and whistles too. hair, nails, wax, massage. Its a nice getaway for me

Neither Paul (hubby) nor Beorn (12 year old son) seem to shop for gifts, so I always choose my gifts from them on BF. I do hope Beorn learns to be more considerate as he matures, or I can see myself forewarning his future fiance.

Oh heck yeah - looking at the BF deals, I find stuff that would be good for me, my wife finds stuff that would be good for everybody else. It's my "reward" to myself for turning over part of my bonus for her shopping addictions.

I would be very surprised if I ever managed to make it through that day without buying at least one thing for myself and or the house.

This year I know I'm going to be on the lookout for table linens. And if I see a good deal on clothes - look out! :D

There are usually things that I'd like on sale that day, so if the deal is great and I have the money, I'll get it. I try to focus on gifts first though, to make sure I have enough money to get them.

If the price is right, and it's something I want, ABSOLUTELY!

I did it last year, and turned to my wife and said 'Thank you for my present'.

She wouldn't count that as her gift to me though....oh well.

:giggle: YES, I do. I never spend to much, but if it is the right price I will buy it and have it under the tree from my daughter. Always tell her " Gee, thanks that is exactly what I wanted!" Give her a wink after,,,she is like what???????
