Rebirth Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 My first time shopping on BF was in 2003. I always saw the ads, but never went because I was too lazy to wake up. The first item I bought is ATI Radeon 9600. :)
ajbrowns Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 My Grandmother used to take me shopping the day after Thanksgiving long before I knew what Black Friday was. I sure could make $20 go a long way in the early 80s! Then came high school & college in the early 90s which meant working retail every year for Black Friday. Amie
elena_398 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 My first BF was in 1998. Love it now as much as I did then!
sbhiggins Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 It was the year Walmart had the Game Boy Advance for, like $45-- I think it was three years ago, but could be misremembering. Got hooked on the adrenaline rush and now am totally addicted to it!
kmbrly Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 1994.... It all started because of a $5 See and Say.
outnumbered Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 It was 2002 that I first got up early to be in line...in the 90s I did my shopping during more "normal" hours that day though.
brynnfromtheblock Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Can't remember, just feels like it's been forever
rockpzazz Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 My first one was 2003. I got off work at a truck stop at 6 AM and got to Wal-Mart at 6:15. Nothing I really needed, but I got a DVD/VCR combo and a couple other things. I missed last year, but plan on going this year in full force.
Ankit Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Late 90's, I can't recall the exact year.Same here
Gumball Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I think the first time I went might have been 1995 since that's when I got my first computer at Walmart. :)
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 2001....turned around when I saw the line at wallymart, and went to kmart across town!
SueInCali Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 My first was in the late 50's. Ooops...wasn't even born then! Actually, in college we used to go to all the stores. Just knew it as after T-Day. Little did I know there was a rabid pack of animals doing the same thing worldwide! I feel so bonded now. <howls>
JazzMama Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 My 1st time was in 1999 - I had just gotten married in July and my husband left to go hunting Thanksgiving night. Since I couldn't sleep very well that night, I woke up at 4, shopped until 7:30 and then went into work. Luckily, the place that I work at now gives us the day after Thanksgiving off, so I never have to worry about that scenario again!
mrn8 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 It was 1998, and I went to Walmart to get a TV and Playstation for the dorm room. :)
Tracy72 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 My first time was in 97...my baby was 17 months and I took her with me...she did very good too...but from then on I leave the girls with dh...my day to shop all by myself..lol
Steakgoddess Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 1996. My mother sent me out because she was sick.
amiller17 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 My first BF was 2004 and it was a mess - no plan we just got in the SUV and went. At least we were smart enough to take the SUV. The first few stores we walked out of without much or nothing at all. Meijers was another story - an employee said you have to buy it by 11 or 12 and even if you were in line at that time if it wasn't paid for by the sales end you where SOL. I grabbed a few things and got in line. I wasn't risking it - now I would have to agrue with them. Wal-mart, which isn't a favorite of mine still had items after the noon deadline and was letting you have them for that price. I liked that.

Go to each cart and take stuff out again?
