jodeee Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I just watched our local weather, -7 with snow flurries and windy
nawth21 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 The weather man on the news tonight addressed all the crazy BF shoppers of Minnesota - he said, "For all you Black Friday shoppers that line up at stores, wear everything you have in the house...then go buy a new jacket and wear that, too. It's gonna be freezing!" lol It's gonna snow here Wednesday and part of Thanksgiving. Then it's going to get super cold. Snow, I don't mind, but I'm not ready for 9 degree weather yet. lol Ah the lovely snow then cold combination. At least we're not getting a repeat of Sunday with the ice, that'd be terrible for all the shoppers.
jade6700 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 68/37 here. Sunny, clear, no rain in sight.
jodeee Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 WOW they just updated the weather to -16 and blizzard expecting 4-6 inches of snow
ObiRich Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Here in the top of Utah...no new snow (expecting 4-8" over the next day and a half) but a morning low of 9 degrees! Thats mid-January weather. Hope it will help keep the outside crowds down.
Angelseyes28 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Ok I'm in Mississippi where more often than not we can wear tshirts on BF.........not this year!! Rainy Thanksgiving day and ICE that night! Daggumit and here I was thinking that with starting times at 10pm it couldn't get any worse!
Elmck Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 We are looking at cold rain!! Yucky!!! We had the same last year.
flyjar Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Showers and a high of 49, low of 31. Sweet, that should deter the crowds. :)
3 boys Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Brrrrr... but no precip Stay Warm all you - degree people :gdfrozen:
dealluvr Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 was supposed to rain but now saying sleet or icy rain we will see...
HansieDZ Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hoping for that little bit of snow they have predicted About 3 years ago,we woke up to several inches on the ground, etc. but none on the streets and that was a wonderful surprise! Snow and cold really gets me in the Christmas spirit and I buy more.
elena_398 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 80% chance of rain here in my area of Ohio. Oh joy
sc98mel Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Rain here in Biloxi, but as my DH put it, I can use my umbrella as a weapon in the mad crowds!
evansmommy9902 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 El nino is a dry cold winter, La nina is a wet wet wet winter! The last time we had a la nina year was back in 1996-97 & the whole town of Reno flooded on 1/1/97. We've had El nino since until this year!
laniebean Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I rember the floods of 1997... I also rember the baby boom in sept that year. so far this year the weather has been pretty crazy.
honey_bee_1979 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Well they are predicting snow for BF here but I don't stand outside anymore. We start at the mall so we are inside. The first couple years we started BF shopping they had a designated door where they handed out GCs to that store. They no longer hand out gift cards soooo we go inside the mall and stay nice & warm :)
flyjar Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Update: looks like it's definitely going to be raining. :)
amyers12345 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 They are calling for a Tur-Duc-Hen type of forecast. They have said it so much that we're talking about turning it into a drinking game! It's raining and chilly now, jumping from 40 to 70 within 2 hours this afternoon. Right after it hits 70, we're supposed to get slammed with a cold front, spawning tornadoes and torrential rains. It's supposed to ice and snow tonight with ice accumulation tomorrow. FUN!!!
kimmie0712 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 WOW they just updated the weather to -16 and blizzard expecting 4-6 inches of snow Oh bless your heart! Hope you can somehow manage to stay warm!! :) We'll be out late Thursday evening through Black Friday - temps are supposed to drop and chance of some precip. We'll see how it plays out!
andyw06 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Sleet and Freezing rain overnight. Not sure I will bother heading out this year, nothing I need that badly. I can take the cold, but sleet and freezing rain take the fun out of it.
kgm520 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I'm just a little north of you, sweetdiggedy. Here in the northern burbs we have a forecast of 7 degrees overnight (-15 wind chills) with a high of 19 Friday. At least the snow will be done falling (it's a beautiful show right now as I sit in my living room!). I'll be digging into my husband's hunting gear for some hand and toe warmers.
Grants Dad Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 2 degrees when the early openings come around, with a -18 windchill, high of 17 for the day, expecting 2-4" of white and fluffy.... awesome.
The Mfn Man Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I'm in Ky and last night it rained and the temperature went from about 45 to 79. Then this morning it rained again and it went from 79 to 27 and about a half inch of snow and ice. Gotta love the Midwest
Miss Star Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Rain all day yesterday and then snowing as I was coming out of Walmart last night at 1am
tinkrbel Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 hot here. think car read 82 when we left but not 100% sure. Hope everyone did ok in the cold.
mausibaer Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 At 12:30pm on Thursday afternoon, it was 76 degrees with high humidity and a "Feels Like" of 82 degrees. Five hours later, it was 47 degrees with a cold rain, 20mph+ winds with a "Feels Like" of 37 degrees. Almost nobody that was in line from the beginning was prepared for such a dramatic shift. I know that those numbers are laughable compared to our brothers and sisters to the North. But watching 100 people realize that they were woefully underprepared to deal with the elements made my wife understand why the first App that I ever downloaded onto my iPod was The Weather Channel.
ObiRich Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Was 12 degrees in the Office Depot line this morning in Layton Utah. Luckily not much wind, and no snow falling. Toes were still like ice cubes though....
