  1. FINALLY! Got the Xbox bundle. Kiddos will be happy (and so will hubby).
  2. Shoulda put on a pot of coffee...I can't stand this.
  3. Grrrr, the Xbox One bundle won't drop in price. At the top of the hour the gift card option showed up, but it's still $349.
  4. At Walmart, I witnessed what I can only describe as a bad experiment in Human Behavior. I was in children's ready to grab cheap jammies, and I had a direct view of the madness escalating in infants/toddlers where all the DVDs and Video games were set up. About 150 people were hovered around those stands by 11:55 pm... people already yelling at each other because people had their carts in there trying to get the best spot and running over feet and bumping others in the back... when all the sudden ONE person started ripping the plastic off before the sale was supposed to start. That one person started a chain reaction and within seconds there was plastic flying everywhere and game/DVD cases being passed from hand to hand and people climbing over other bodies to get to the $2 movies. The security personnel could only back up and nervously laugh to themselves. THEY certainly weren't going to do anything about it! Those of us over in children's just kinda shrugged and figured we might as well start getting out stuff too. The whole store was in mass chaos and it wasn't even 12:01 yet!
  5. I'm just a little north of you, sweetdiggedy. Here in the northern burbs we have a forecast of 7 degrees overnight (-15 wind chills) with a high of 19 Friday. At least the snow will be done falling (it's a beautiful show right now as I sit in my living room!). I'll be digging into my husband's hunting gear for some hand and toe warmers.
  6. Our Walmart was a nightmare. They let everyone in instead of having them stand outside, and people gathered around the various pallets. The employees were very strict in saying you couldn't start putting things in your carts, but you were allowed to pick out what you wanted and keep it there, stacked on the pallet (if that makes any sense). Five minutes before 5 AM, they announced for employees to cut the plastic on the pallets and "in an orderly fashion" start handing out items. Riiiight. All heck broke loose. There were so many people in the store that within 15 minutes there was a traffic jam of carts and people and boxes plugging up every large aisle in the store, along with several smaller aisles that were feeding into the bigger ones. There were some people who "got smart" and checked out in the back of the store, but they found it took them an additional half hour just to get OUT of the store thanks to the giant bottleneck for the front registers. I took only 15 minutes to get all my items and got in the line rather quickly, but it still took me 2.5 hours to get checked out. It was claustrophobic and miserable! Getting hung up at Walmart threw my entire "plan" off for the day. If I ever, ever, ever try to do Walmart when it opens on Black Friday ever again, someone please punch me in the face.
  7. All the ambiguity and differences between stores (and even between customer service people in some cases) makes me nervous to even try price adjusting. I attempted it at WalMart last year and got screwed by the "Switched SKU" tactic. Oh, I was so angry!! Don't know if I want to ruin my BF by going through that.
  8. NW Suburbs Minneapolis, MN Low 26, High 44... chance of rain/snow mix Not BAD! LOL
  9. Ditto! After a day with a huge gathering with extended family and screaming kids, I LOVE being alone on BF... Christmas music on in the car, planning where I need to go next. Getting breakfast in the late morning at IHOP and going over my receipts... people watching... it's all good!
  10. Coon Rapids, MN (mostly) Blaine, MN (TRU) Maple Grove, MN (maybe)
  11. I saw today that even TRU has dropped their price to $200.
  12. I can't remember anything specific I wasn't pleased with, but I do know I will never try to "buy ahead" and get the difference back on BF at Walmart. Those scumbags tend to switch SKUs for BF sales. Walmart is on my "banned" list for BF.
  13. Yes, BF one was the Expression. Last year was the baby Cricut with the exclusive Keystone cartridge for $119.
  14. I think you're right... 9.99 is pretty cheap, even for BF, for true 18kt gold with real gemstones.
  15. I guess if they won't price adjust my Leapsters then they'll be giving me my money back. Seems ridiculous that they would rather not get *any* of my money than *some* of my money.
  16. I'm a worry wort about price adjusting too, but I try to keep in mind the logic that you would *think* they would rather have all of your business with a discounted sale than none of your business when you get ticked, return it all, and stomp out of the store.
  17. Hmmm, so I'm worried now and a little confused. I went last night and bought 2 Leapsters at the regular $49.xx price hoping to price adjust on BF. Is it possible that the SKUs will be different on the BF Leapsters and I won't get the adjustment?
  18. Oh that is SO lame. I am planning on going to my Walmart this afternoon to see if I can get the Leapsters early and price adjust on BF. I will be livid if they try and pull the same BS with me.
  19. We have a huge family party like that on Christmas Eve with DH's extended fam as well. Over the years it has gone from having the adults draw names and get all of the kids something, to having no adult gifts and let the kids draw names - as the number of little ones grew it became necessary to limit the gift giving to one gift per child or we would be there all night! It sounds like drawing names is going to be a no-go in your DH's family. I say buy some small things for all the kids, take a deep breath, and tell DH that if he feels *that* weird not getting the adults something, HE can go buy the rest.
  20. TRU is definitely a store to have the tag-team approach going for you. One with a cart, the other making runs for toys. OR, you have a very short list that you can carry in your arms and have scouted out exactly where they are on the shelves so you can grab on your way to the check out line. Two years ago it was my first stop and I was in and out of there in 8 minutes flat. WEEE!! This year, though, I've done a lot more researching and finding the toys I want at cheaper prices beforehand or at other stores. For the first time, I'm not planning on making TRU one of my first 3 stops.
  21. Yes, I definitely saw the one for $30 at WalMart... I'm wanting to get 2 of them, one for each of my boys (4 and 5.5 years old), so $25 each would be even better!!
  22. I am looking for the original Leapster too... where are you seeing it for just $25? I did a search of the ads on GD and didn't see it.
  23. I think the Walmart ad sealed the deal for me.... I'll be there as soon as my body and cups of coffee will allow - probably between 3:30 and 4 am - for the Leapsters (hoping to get 2 of them).
  24. I am dyin' to see that ad, Brad! :)
  25. Nothing as amazing as these stories, but the scurrying and scared little mouse in Linens at my local Kohl's was a "big hit" two BFs ago. :)
