Help! Need gift ideas for hubby!

I am at a loss here. I have never had this problem before. He loves football, specifically the New England Patriots. I have already bought about everything I feel he needs Pats related. Has a nice collection of very expensive watches, so that is out too. It doesn't help that he says there is nothing that he wants or needs. Except a motorcycle of course...lol. He does realize that is definatley out this year though. When he asks for something it's usually BIG. Any good ideas? Edited by Kim3498

I did some fun things this year -- fun for DH, anyway.

He got an alienware keyboard for his computer. He does flight simulator games and this one lights up, so when he's playing in the dark, he can still see the keyboard. Plus it's cool and geeky. :D

Then we did little things like nice new running socks (he'll never buy them for himself), and huge box of K-cups for his Keurig, a Starbucks giftcard, a few shirts for his baseball/football teams, a hat (football team). DD6 made him a scrapbook -- it turned out SO cute!

Does your DH have a hobby? Anything that he has that he might want a nice upgrade for (a tool set, etc that's maybe gotten yuck)? Maybe one of those charging stations?

Giftcards to places his likes to go to -- for lunch or coffee...something that would come in handy if he's heading to work or needing lunch one day.

My husband is impossible to buy for also. I just saw in the Brookstone magazine they have a cordless handheld air compressor that can inflate bike and car tires. With four boys and lots of bikes and sports balls I think he will get a lot of use out of it. Not very exiciting though!

Sounds like some cool ideas. He loves to work with tools, but his building is full of them. I did see a charging station that he was interested in. A mat that you lay your electronics on and it charges them. I wish I could remember the name of it. He can never seem to keep his ipod touch or his cell phone charged. I always buy him some kidna goofy hat to put in his stocking. This year it was the Patriots Jester hat. I just wish I had ordered DS one too. He had a fit over it and now I'm gonna have to order him one too.

I like the air compressor idea. That would be very handy in case of a flat tire, or to keep our bike tires going strong...

Yes, that is it. Thanks for finding it. My local BB doesn't have it in stock, though. Not sure if I want to take a chance on ordering, since they are so slow at shipping orders.

EDIT: I just checked Target. They have it in stock and it is on sale for $89.99. Thanks, again.

Remember to get the recievers for the mat, they are extra and each one unique to each piece of equipment you own and not included in the purchase price.

I never know what to buy my DH either. He is impossible. He says the same thing about me. We usually agree not to buy each other gifts and donate extra to the angel tree or something with the money we would have used on each other.

Ohhh, thanks for that info. I am not very techy about this sort of thing. That's probably why he had not mentioned wanting it since he looked at it in the store. All that extra stuff adds up.

The year before last, I had no idea what to get DH. He didn't ask for anything, and there wasn't really anything that he needed. I ended up getting him a PSP game system. He was traveling alot for work at the time, and I thought it would be nice for when he was stuck in a hotel room by himself. Turns out he LOVES it, and really, it started his love of gaming. I love that I can buy him games for it for other holidays/birthdays. Would your DH enjoy something like that maybe?

I bought hubby this set a few years ago and thanks to sears they keep adding pieces every year which gives me more to buy since he has the batteries and chargers. He love it.

I added the chain saw and blower this year. The one that pumps up the tires in this set is cool too.

Oooh...that's COOL! But then I'd have to buy him a garage to store it all in. ;)

DH and DS both are total video gamers. Between the 2 of them they have all the systems. DS has the PSP, and DS Lite, but doesn't really share with DH though. Funny story: My MIL bought a DS to keep at her house for when DS forgets to bring his when he comes to visit. He and his cousin love to play them together. Anyway, DH and his brother end up fighting over who is going to play with MIL's when the boys both remember to bring their's. She bought DH and BIL both (31 and 34 years old) a DS for Christmas this year.

She says her boys have gone back to their childhood. I could've told her that years ago...Lol. Personally, I think he might have liked the PSP better, though.

Wow...that is a nice set.

Thanks for all the replies. Keep the good ideas coming.

My hubby told me this year that he didn't want anything at all, but I know better than that. He's just like a kid and wants to open something on christmas so I got him a helicopter to fly outside. The link is below. I also picked him up a few other things. He hates getting clothes, shoes, coats, etc for christmas. He says christmas is about getting stuff you WANT and not what you NEED. I on the other hand ask for stuff I both want and need...haha. He likes to get toys, gadgets etc at christmas so i think he will enjoy the helicopter.

PS--I googled "coupon code for xheli.com" and found a code that gave me free shipping. I got him the helicopter and crash kit for $105.

I got mine a heated shield for his snowmobile helmet. He's been wanting one but won't spend the money on himself. It's partly for me too, now I don't have to worry he's going to plow into a tree because his shield is fogged up.

Mine said the same thing. Why do they bother with that? They know we will go to extremes to get them something awesome. I have already bought him alot, but he found out about his big present. I have to have him a surprise. He sounds like your hubby. Don't ever want clothes, shoes or anything practical. The helicopter is very cool. I may just have to go that route. Thanks for the awesome idea.

Aaahhh. I am so jealous. We don't have enough snow in my part of VA for snowmobiles. (At least not any more.) I remember the snow up to my waist in winter when I was in HS, but seems our weather has changed. We now have HOT summers, and mild winters :(. I would love for DS to see those kinda winters.

This year I bought my dh a gas pressure washer. Ours isn't working very well and he loves cleaning the car. I was also thinking of getting him and gym membership for the both of us, but I'm not sure we'll use it. I guess it's just as bad watching the kids open gifts on Christmas day and playing with them, then never to by touched again and thrown out in April:)

I also got him a ski pass for the whole family for a day. The tickets are $70.00 each so he better enjoy it!

One year I got him a new set of keys. He lost his keys and kept on using mine. So I went on Ebay and found him all the keys (these door unlock keys are expensive!). Even got him the same keychain he had before. He thought that was one of the most thoughtful gifts he's ever got.

This year hubby is getting season 3 of Psych, cologne, a new cell phone, probably a new bluetooth headset, oldest DD got him a waffle maker, younger DD got him a book, oldest DS got him a propane blow torch (they are always working on stuff and fixing stuff together), and I'm not sure yet what the youngest 3 are going to give him. (3 year old DS thinks hubby wants littlest pet shop stuff! lol!) He's also getting a new wedding band, an iPod nano, and maybe some new shirts.

Ooohh. I love Psych. I hadn't thought about a box set of movies. He really likes the show Burn Notice. He has the first season, but I think they have a second season out now. That would make a nice addition to his stocking. He messed with the stocking today and found what he was sure to be a new video game for his PS3. Of course, he was right. **Sign** he got to open that one. Thank goodness I wrapped all of the gifts in the stocking, because he had pulled all of them out. He's worse than DS for snooping. Of course, DS had to open one from his stocking too, lol... I had been looking at the video game Tekken 6 with the arcade wireless fight stick for PS3 for DH. At GameStop, and BB it was $149.99. I lucked across it on Amazon for $79.99. I went ahead and ordered that. Here is the Link in case anyone else is interested in that.

Thats why Santa is filling the stockings this year... If its not Dh or DD then its the cat stealing the stockings so I decided to make Santa fill them this year and its driving them all nuts.. I put all of DH and DD's gifts that are under the tree in the very back hidden behind the rest so they cant look or touch.. They cant even tell if they have any gifts under the tree.. I find it all amusing but they are going nuts since they are trying to see who has more gifts not sure who is worse DH or DD...:cheesy:

Lol. I wish I had waited to fill those stockings. I love to do it and hang them on the wall just to see who takes the bait first. This year DS promised not to snoop, but DH is even worse than DS. I did put all of DS's gifts back at the back of the tree, but DH got his main gift before I wrapped it. UPS man handed it to him when he delivered it. (Would figure UPS would come while I was out for 10 minutes that day).

I thought about getting my hubby Burn Notice too, but ended up getting it for my dad instead! lol! Amazon shows they have season 2 of Burn Notice, so it must be available. Also, if you don't end up getting Psych for him for Christmas, keep your eye on it at Amazon. Every so often they mark it down to $12! I bought seasons 1 and 3 at that price. (we already have season 2)

This is a nice set, my DH had been wanting it but didn't want to spend the money so he was pretty psyched when I found it at a yard sale for $25 over the summer. I also bought my DH a Rhino for Christmas, also the windshield and some other accessories for it, PS3 games, Psych season 3 and a ton of movies. I can't remember what else, but I am seriously done shopping :cheesy: oh yeah, and I always get a sears gift card to go in his stocking

I always give my hubby a box set or two of a miniseries from HBO or Showtime, since we have neither movie channel. Last year, I got him "John Adams", which he loved since he is a history buff. This year, I've got him season one and two of "Entourage" because I think he will like it.

My DH is picky picky picky and I always want to surprise him. So far, I've done okay with my rogue choices. Usually, he gives me a very concise list to choose from, but this year, he just mentioned a few things and I've been on my own!

Thanks for the heads up. Amazon has Season 2 for $19.99. That seems like a great price. I will definately keep an eye on Psych. That is more my show....

A Sears gift card is a nice idea. DH is tool crazy, but I have no idea what to buy him in that department myself.

I'm glad to hear that DH is not the only picky one. He usually asks for a new gun. I definatley don't try to pick one of those out for him. He is super picky in that department. When that is what he gets, he goes and picks it out and puts it on layaway for me to go pick up. I never let him go ahead and buy it, because he just brings it home and thinks he is gonna go shooting at the local shooting range.
