kellmarr Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Walmart in Otsego, MI has the .40/lb turkeys right now! A 23lb turkey was only 9.xx!
AngeP Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 our HEB now has honeysuckle for 40cents too. more competition for Walmart??Thanks, I was going to go to Walmart but I prefer HEB!
rollingrock411 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Walmart in western new york has lowered the price of their Turkey's to compete with Tops and Wegmans, dropped it to 29 cents a pound,no qualifying purchase like the other two stores require. Picked up a 18lb Turkey for the local food bank last night for $5.30.
kellmarr Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Food back donations are an excellent idea!! Why didnt I think of that!?
TheRhino84 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Pittsburgh area Walmart's are selling turkeys @ 29 cents/lb now in response to Giant Eagle lowering to 40 cents a lb.
AudreyNicole Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I was just at my Super Walmart... not a $.40 turkey in sight. The cheapest they had was $1.19/lb. I went next door and paid $.88 a pound instead.
davephillyj Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 OUrs comes and goes.. As soon as they come in stock....they go out again. They put a 2 per cutomer limit, but one lady got 2 her hubby got 2 and then they went out and came back in and did it again. SO that's one reason they don't last....
emilygracesmom Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Our Walmart has 2 different brands for $.40/lb. Smaller turkeys (up to about 13lbs) are Jenni-O brand and larger turkeys (in the 20+ lb range) are an off brand called Round Hill. I snagged 2 of the smaller ones yesterday, but there were only about 6 when I got mine. However, there were still plenty of the larger ones. We also have a 2 per person limit.
Kara1204 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 WM and Fareway are 40 cents here. BUT, at HyVee, we have a coupon....you buy a Hormel Cure 81 ham at $2.99 lb (they are averaging 18 bucks each) and you get the turkey FREE. There is also a tear pad manu. coupon for $3.00 off the ham. So, 15 bucks gets you 12 lbs of turkey AND 6 lbs of the best (IMO) boneless ham in the store. That is the deal I am doing. Saving the ham for Christmas (exp, date on hams is Jan 30, 2010) Same problem here, WM stock on the 40 cent turkeys is sporadic....at best.
jlr1260 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 My local Walmart was fully stocked with the .40 turkeys on Friday morning.
farmman57 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 None to be found here in NE Georgia. sigh...
my2girlz Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Ours only had a handful of .60 /lb turkey's although when I purchased one it rang up as .98/lb or $13.xx eventhough the ticket had it marked as $7.xx. Good thing I caught it after I went out in the parking lot. I'm wondering how many other people did not catch it.
1josh Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I went to Bjs today expecting to see the price of the turkey at over $1 per pound however they had the Perdue brand turkey for .59/lb.
