So, I'm assuming the Sharp 52" tv for $898 (as stated in the "Weekly Secret Sale" thread) is not one of the specials for this Saturday? Also, do you need to get a ticket or do you just go to WM and tell them what you want?:blush: Thanks in advance.

I'll be there for the Xbox. Wow ya can't argue with $100 giftcard on a $200 product. Not to mention it's on my son's Christmas List.

Minimum of 10 per store :eek: Wonder how early you'll need to get there??

Does anyone know if that is a good deal for the HP Laptop? I am looking for one for my DD 11 to surf the net, play games and download music. I do not know alot about PC's and what is good and what is not. :no: Also what is the differnce between a Laptop and Notebook?

Laptop has a hard drive, plays DVDs, has a hard drive etc. It's a fully functioning computer just like a desktop.

 

A Netbook is a web surfing unit only. That's all it does

Last year BestBuy had a laptop for $279 and it had a dual-core processor. So you might find a better deal. I also believe that Wally World is going to have more of the HPs before Christmas.

bleh..looking at blu ray player shows "limited stock" at my store :( don't think its netflix compatible so possibly not worth it anyhow

That is why they are so cheap suddenly. The Blu-ray players with Netflix have pushed the price down on the ones without. So, if you don't need Netflix(it is on Xbox and PS3 now) then this is a pretty good deal.

The Xbox has kinda got my attention but does it have a hard drive in it?

If there is no hard drive in it can you install one?

I'm kinda on the fence about it it would be nice to play some games.

And I saw this about the gift card.

One (1) per customer, limited time offer while supplies last, online only gift card.

So I guess you can't use the gift card in the store.

That is why they are so cheap suddenly. The Blu-ray players with Netflix have pushed the price down on the ones without. So, if you don't need Netflix(it is on Xbox and PS3 now) then this is a pretty good deal.

ok I am totally new to Blu-ray what is the Netflix thing with the player that is different? We are building a media room and need a Blu-ray, plan to mostly buy our movies, we don't rent or stream...Thanks in advance.

 

Also the deal on the Sharp 42" looks good, do you think we'll see a better deal on that size TV on BF. It would be help to not have to be out getting a TV on BF.

A LAPTOP and a NOTEBOOK are the same thing. As said before, it's a fully functional computer. They're typically 12"-17" (screen size) and weigh between ~4.8 - 7.5 lbs.

 

A NETBOOK is also a computer, but does not have a CD/DVD Drive and are powered by a lesser speed CPU (processor). They do all the same things as a laptop including going online, using MS Office, youtube, etc. but they SHOULD NOT be used to play any kind of intensive games. Yes you can write letters using a Word processing program (like MS Word) but you won't be comfortable using the small keyboard for hours on end. They also typically have smaller screens (7"-10.1") and weigh between 2 - 4 lbs. Hence, the portability!

 

Are they for usable/useful? YES, VERY MUCH SO.

Should they be depended on as a primary computer? Depends on what your needs are. But not typically.

I can't decide if I should get the 42 inch Sharp TV or not. That is my #1 must buy item for BF.. I am tempted to buy it now so I don't have to worry about missing it on actual BF.

 

Is it worth it to buy the TV now or should I wait there will be something better?

In addition to seeking savings on gifts under the Christmas tree, recent research shows more than 50 percent of consumers plan to shop price discounts in the coming weeks on non-gift purchases for themselves or family.**

 

Starting Saturday, Walmart stores will begin their first one-week electronics savings event with special buys and Rollbacks, including a new $298 HP notebook computer. In addition, as shoppers evaluate the impact of tight budgets on holiday meal planning, beginning today Walmart will feature select 12-pound turkeys for less than $5, helping families serve a complete Thanksgiving meal for eight this year as low as $20.*

 

“We’re proving that we’re committed to helping moms afford the holidays in these tough economic times,” said Jack Sinclair, executive vice president, groceries, Walmart. “That’s why we’re offering incredible pricing on the turkey and all the fixings.”

 

A turkey dinner for eight as low as $20

According to a survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation, last year’s average cost of a turkey was roughly $1.19 per pound. Beginning today, select Grade A turkeys are available for 40 cents per pound at Walmart.* These gobblers are part of Walmart’s $20 Thanksgiving menu guaranteeing family favorites will be on the dinner table this holiday season. Walmart’s $20 Thanksgiving feast includes:

 

* One 12-pound Grade A turkey*

* Three 11 to 15.5-ounce cans Green Giant vegetables

* Two 14-ounce cans Ocean Spray cranberry sauce

* Three 6-ounce boxes of Stove Top stuffing

* One 5-pound bag of red potatoes

I think it's an OK deal I would go down to the store and check it out in prison and see how the picture looks.

Once my son goes to sleep tonight I will be heading there to check it out. If I can keep my pregnant self from having to camp outside of BB that would be sweeeet. Hopefully this TV lives up to my expectations.

Yes you can buy a hard drive for it. Pretty easy to install. and unless you are an avid gamer you may not need the hard drive.
