I know, it's really ridiculous how they get you with the drinks. I always make my kids drink water when we go out to eat, or I always make them share, or I bring juice boxes or water from home. Is the value drink an add-on to a combo, or is it really only $.79?

We've had them call us before too, but must have gotten lucky that they haven't kept calling us. When they said $129 to DH, he said, "no way" and got off the phone fast. He's even more frugal than I am.

I don't understand why anyone would fall for having to wire money to someone. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not judging, I just don't get it.

Just wondering what everyone bought at Big Lots. Any good deals? I live almost 30 minutes from the nearest Big Lots, just wondering if it's worth the drive.

Thanks for the heads up. My DD is very into LPS now and loves the shirts. Just an FYI, I bought an LPS t-shirt at Target 2 weeks ago for around the same price, it was pink with two monkeys and "double trouble" on it, so they are other places too. I'll have to go check out Wal-Mart now.

I thought it was just me missing out on the deals. My nearest Target is new, but very small and never has any deals. I think too many people clear it out on a regular basis so there isn't ever anything left to put on clearance.

I'm one of the suckers that just bought a My Little Pony Christmas set at $4.98 It's not my fault, really, but my DD3 picked it out and somehow they ended up in my cart.

Just a word of warning, this doesn't always work out. I tried this during the Stride-Rite sale, ordered 6 pairs of shoes, chose "Pay by Check" and then a few days later tried to switch it and pay with my card. Well, none of the shoes I had ordered were available for shipping for at least 3 months, some as long as 6 months. Two pairs I'd ordered were canceled a month later, and after that, I just canceled the rest of them because the wait was getting to be ridiculous. I think Amazon oversells on purpose or something, but it's very frustrating when it happens. Just thought I'd let you know that you might not get your item anytime soon, if ever. I don't ever use pay by check anymore because of this.

That crosses Lexmark off my list of printers from now on. Are there any decent printers out there that are fairly inexpensive?

Is this a good printer? I have an older Lexmark printer that isn't printing well, all of a sudden my paper won't feed anymore, and I'm looking for a new one and this happens to be in my price range. Just wondering if anyone had anything good or bad to say about this one.

I love Costco, but usually tag along with a friend because I don't have the extra money to buy a membership. Anyone know if there are ever discounts on memberships?

They are very cute, I got them for both my DDs (3 and 5), but they definitely aren't their favorite thing to play with. My DD3 is the princess and dress-up queen, and she pretty much just sits in it to watch TV once in a while. I bought mine from Amazon and I know I would have scored more points if I'd had the dress-up dress too. :)

I feel this way too and couldn't have expressed it as well as you did (except for the part about leaving the tree up through the Super Bowl).

I went grocery shopping this morning at 9 and the store was packed. I don't plan on going out again. Lots of people out there right now. I forgot, I do have to leave again. DD has a dentist appt. in a little while, then I need to stop at Walgreens for all the batteries I need. :)

I'm waiting on 4 from Amazon, sent all different ways USPS, Fed-Ex, UPS, and DHL. DHL and Fed-Ex are supposed to be here today, so we'll see. The one I need the most is the UPS one, and of course it's not even on the truck yet. I'll feel better once I can see that it's on its way to me. I'm also supposed to be receiving some popcorn from Dale & Thomas by today, but I've pretty much given up on seeing that show up on time.

How much is it at Big Lot's? I don't have an Aldi's near me.

What about if you don't have a subscription card? All my BIL wanted was a subscription to Bicycling magazine and I bought one off eBay for less than half the regular subscription price, but I won't get a subscription card. Any fun ideas for giving him a gift? I am sure he has all the issues. I was going to just buy a card and mention it in there, but that's pretty boring. Maybe make a certificate and wrap it in box and then another box? Just to make it fun?
