Wow, all of these really are adorable. My son's class made some cute "foamie" picture ornaments but I wimped out and bought little kits at Oriental Trading Company. I wish I were more crafty. Have fun. Kristyn

This is a nice story and a very giving thread. My son and I unofficially adopted a family of one of his class mates. Since I have made many donations to the school, the teacher asked if we could possibly help since the little girl (classmate) asked the teacher if Santa can still come even if they don't have enough money to buy a tree. This little girl is so sweet and hearing this just broke my heart. We bought a tree, lights, decorations and brought lots and lots of wrapped presents for the little girl and her 2 sisters. It really does feel good to give. I went to the class party yesterday and was totally shocked when the little girl came and hugged me and said thank you (with a little tear in her eyes). I wanted to contibute to the family in secret for many reasons, but someone in the school office told her. I wish I could convey the feelings I felt as this precious child was absolutely sparkling when she told me about the lights and decorations on her tree, and she said she has never seen so many presents in her whole life. Sorry, time for a litttle boohooing from this Secret Santa.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
krissy904 replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Kristyn here reporting from Jacksonville Florida Target. Absolutely nothing good. The store seems to be taking a turn toward the yuppie side and I am not happy. In the past Target has always had my heart and soul, but, and this is hard to confess, lately I have been hanging out at Walmart. Oh God, that feels good just confessing. I will continue to check Target occasionally as I can never get it out of my blood completely. I know there a few people here in JAcksonville, just wanted to clarify that my Target is the San Jose location. -
Wow, there truly are many talented people on this board. I can't even color within the lines. Darn!

Help with Silk Kimono Robe for my lovely wife
krissy904 replied to a topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I saw some gorgeous ones today at Marshalls and TJ Max if you have those near you. And their prices are definitely lower than most retail places that sell similiar items, or at least I think they are. -
I agree with all that said it's not a silly idea. I start my holiday shopping a year in advance always. And at Christmas I usually have tons of gifts or giftsets to choose from that ended up costing up to 90% off. My family used to laugh at me, but now they ask to come visit my "store" for emergency gifts.

Darn , I was in Target last night and I think it was on sale (?) for 3.50 with the $5 card after purchasing 4. It's still a decent deal but not as good as others sound.

I didn't order one as I really wasn't in the need of more junk, but does anyone remember how much they were inc. shipping. I am just curious

Toshiba laptop $399 no rebates - Best Buy B&M
krissy904 replied to RossMAN's topic in Offline Hot Deals
thanks so much for the heads up on this laptop. As soon as I read the original post this morning (6am) I called my daughter and told her to get dressed since we have both been looking for one. She was in line for 10 hours on black friday and was still #160 in line, of course she wasn'r able to get. Anyway, we WERE THE FIRST ONES but at 9:00 there must have been atleast 100 people. My daughter bought one and I bought 2, one for my son and another for a gift as soon as I determine who to give it to. I am so excited. thank you thank you thank you. Kristyn -
I get coach coupons a few times a year, but you have to ask to be included on their mailing list. I don't have one now otherwise I'd send it. Have you ever been to outlet? They usually have some dirt cheap prices on clearance items. And if you find stuff that is made specifically to be sold in the oulet only, those are usually very good deals. You can see if they are outlet only by looking for a "bullseye" imprint on the leather creed. Wow, just talking about it made me decide to get out today and drive the 20 miles to the outlet.

I just bought one a few days at Walgreens for 16.99. It's not electronic so, in my opinion, it is more accurate. It has the stethoscope attached to the cuff so you can measure it yourself which is very simple. In my opinion, the electronic ones are so technique dependent that you can get multiple different readings depending on how you place the cuff, where you position your arm, etc. Hope you find what works for you.

I donated a box of assorted toys/games for ages from about 1 to 6 - 7. It's a nice way to teach kids about the nice feelings that come with giving to those that are not as fortunate. Sometimes kids are blinded by that fact and have difficulty grasping the fact that there are many kids that can only dream about the sort of life that many of us have. Actually so are some adults.

I don't collect them but did buy one as a gift a few days ago. The cashier at the Hallmark store asked me if I wanted the price removed and I said of course. Then she told me that if the recipient collects them it reduces their value with the price taken off. I just thought that was odd. Oh well. I just hope the recipient doesn't think it is too tacky (I had it left on because I don't know if she collects them)

Wow, I believe this so much that it almost brings me to tears just reading your post. I have lost 2 people in my 48 years of living, and I "see" them at special times and it's usually when the need is greatest.

I agree about the coach outlet if you have one near. The one near me in St. Augustine Florida has had clarance merchansise every time I have been there. I don't know if it's just me, but I have never seen a markdown at the Coach store in the mall. Also if you really want discount, I have seen a few coach bags at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, very limited selection but very good prices. Hoep you get something nice for her.

I don't really like to eat it but I do make several each year. I don't use anything grose like fruit peels or yucky wierd fruit, just cherries and pineapples and lots of nuts. Oh and absolutely nothing green. If anyone wants a recipe just pm me, it's actually very easy to make, the hardest part is preparing the candied fruit since it is very sticky.

just basic early american tacky

I have never ordered from them but when I clicked on the link a popup appeared that states "free shipping with first order, no minimum purchase required". -
Sorry it took so long to get back to this spot but I finally did go into Big Lots. They didn't have any displayed so I asked the clerk/Manager and was told that they had a few on the clearance isle and they might still be there. I looked and there were none. Just an FYI - the clerk/manager that I talked to said she got one and the had the same evaluation as the poster that was told it was junk. Just FYI, who really knows? If I happen to see one dirt cheap anywhere I will let you know.

greek pastries for extended family, teachers, and usually a handful ot two of close friends. I attended a Greek Festival in St. Augustine Florida this last weekend and I am proud to say that my cooking puts them to shame. And the best part is that even though I love to cook greek delights, I have no desire to eat them. Kristyn

I am almost certain that I saw those at Big Lots in the last few weeks. I can check in the next day or two. If my memory is right, I think they were about 20 dollars, which would be in line for Big lots pricing. If I can find it for less than half of retail I could even buy and ship to you if you want. I will send PM if I can find them. Kristyn

same problem here but I must deal with it all year long, since I buy almost anythiing and everything when it finally gets to 90% off. I think I have 6 giant plastic boxes filled with (hard to admit) totaly useless junk. I do make quite a few donation gifts to schools, church, blah, blah, blah. I just have so much stuff that I can't possibly remember all of it and there is no way to even take it all out to inventory it. I just have to try to get rid of the items box by box.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
krissy904 replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I usually just come to this thread to whine about not finding anything, but I sure hit the jackpot yesterday afternoon. I got washable marker sets, fine and wide...12 cents a box! Packs of dozen fun color roller ball pens...33 cents each..... fabric covered (blank inside) journals, 73 cents each. That is only a few of the items, I really stocked up and was almost hiding my basket because I didn't to alert any other shoppers of my "score". I suppose that makes me selfish and the worst part is the fact I know that, I just don't care. Okay, don't hate me because I am selfish. Kristyn
