  1. guess I'm a dummy, I thought they'd mail you the flowers (like Proflowers), but they're only the flower bulbs....you have to grow them!!!!!
  2. if you can find an issue of Barbie Bazzar magazine you can probabably find one in classisfied section, at or near MSRP. I used to be able to buy Bazzar at narnes and noble, but they quit selling it about a year ago, MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE HAS MORE INFO (maybe they quit publishing the magazine??) , I take barbie very seriously! BTW I have the furst issue of Barbie Bazzar tucked away neatly and most of the barbie "companies" that sold in the publication in 1983 (I think, could be 1988) are still selling Barbie today. Barbie a sound investment, even today :). With regard to original question, Most Barbie people love their dolls (ah hem, I know I do) and are willing to help another doll lover whenever possible. I will post a want in my local craigslist classified. If someone has one, I would gladly pick one up for you at the not blown up prices! Never mind, no matter I haven;t been able to find the magazine, I found the explanation: "I have sad news for all Barbie doll collectors. Barbie Bazaar magazine, a fixture on the Barbie doll collecting scene since 1988, announced yesterday that it is ceasing publication. Their last issue is the April/May 2006 issue. Their other magazine, Haute Doll, will now include Barbie coverage, and the cover price will increase from $6.95 to $9.95. For the official announcement, read Barbie Bazaar Ceasing Publication". The magazine they reference does still have a lot of doll dealers from the "old" barbie days. Many of the dealers in the back sell dolls after market but at no (or very little) mark-up from the original prices. You may want to check it out, if you don't I will.
  3. I shop there a lot and never had this problem with Kohl's, but I know that it can happen. Cold water, hand wash, warm iron. I love their 90% racks, and I do agree that their prices are marked up, but when I can buy a Simply Vera (I guess this is "Kohl's only" cheapened Vera Wang collection) dress for 10 of 12 bucks, I think I'm getting a good deal because usually they still have a pretty good selection in stock. Hmmmm. Maybe I'm just fooling myself.
  4. my turn...thank you Eve and to all a good night.
  5. I did not have a Secret Santa (by choice) but without mentioning names, unless the sender wants to confess, I received a box today with a long stemmed chocolate rose that was wrapped in red foil. It was from Fiji Company. It looks too pretty to eat but since it has already been stolen and displayed by my 8 yr old son, I's have to say i have a preety good chance of getting at least one rose petal. Anyone care to confess?????? I received another un-Secret Santa and I'm going to go ahead and give her up since she wasn't supposed to send anything!!!! SHerrilL sent me a giant box of mostly bath items and stuff for my son. I loved it all......but she still wasn't suposed to! We had an agreeement and she used a loophole.
  6. welll I sent you another card yesteraday too Eve......just to add em up. y son is keeping track and we habe received 33 (about 7 0r 8 short)
  7. I have never received one but was fortunate enough to receive one from someone on Gottadeal deal once as a RAOK. They charged nothing for the dog (son wanted dog instead of bear) and if you don't want to buy any accessories you don"t have to, it's still completely free. Sometimes I take my son there to get the "experience" and the animal but get a lot of the clothes and accessories at the dollar store. He doesn't care and I sure don't mind saving money.
  8. I'm 50 years old, I played with the original Silly Putty. But the stuff was all dried up I really had no idea what it was, but the containers were so cute it really didn't matter. I guess I also thought it was play-doh because they were colored and in the 60's, original silly putty was gray!! I am such an old nerd. Anyway, Callie, I still loved everything, even my stolen stuff (does stolen count if it's stolen by your kids?)
  9. Is there a way you can find out someone's wish list if you didn't participate in the santa exchange? Are they posted somewhere? You know, like if you're just nosey or something???? BTW, If I did participate, I would now add Pierce Brosnan to my wish list. I have decided that I would leave my husband AND even HArry Connick Jr for Pierce Brosnan. Perfection in the male species.
  10. mystery magnet solved...my son didn't steal it. He said he "knew" it was for him. There is somewhat of a possibility he may be a brat. Sorry, note is already written and I don't like to waste trees. It will be mailed by the end of the week. Besides after drilliing into my (adult) daughters heads that you ALWAYS send a thank you note, I couldn't possibly display the hipocrosy similiar to when I had to confess that unlike Clinton, I inhaled in the 70's! thanks again. I am glad that I finally got to "sort" of know you. Kristyn -
  11. Callie _ ah ha....I was right and yes you reminded aboou the candles. I am usuaully sensitive to scents but for some reson, those didn't bother me at all....but it didn't matter because my son stole them from me! And yes I did love the ornaments, I felt guilty because I think you spent too much money and I didn't want anyone to do that. At least now I can send a thank you note. SOrry I didn"t have the correct name at first, but I COULD have if I cheated in the beginning! I have to admit that if there was a frame my son might have taken it (8 years old) he thinks he's allowed to take what ever he wants. Anyway, the ornaments were gorgeous. Please don't think I was complaining about the silly putty (I thought it was play-doh) I'd much rather have the containers than the contents smeared in the carpet! Thank you again. Kristyn
  12. Hmm....so you guys are playing games with me. Okay and I'm sorry I forgot in the excitement to describe my ornament......I mean 2 ornaments...no, make that 3.....oops, miscounted. Actually they 4 gorgeous glass ornaments that seems to represent Christmas around the World. I can't see my tree right now, but one was a Big Santa sitting on a Big cactus, playing a ukelele (southwestern theme), then there was aPostcard ornament (with Santa hanging his head around the edge) that says "Par Avion" for my French Connection! #3 was my son's favorite, a Big Pirate Santa (but you can tell that he is a friendly pirate!) and #4 was Fisherman Santa, holding his catch of the day-reminds me of Santa in Ireland. They are all big ornaments and we really love them. My ornament shopper had a job since I put ZERO for preferences. Oh and there were 3 little packs of playdoh in christmas themed clear mini containers. The playdoh was dried up and I hope other mothers can appreciate the fact that I was more than pleased that it was dried up, we just used the containers as additional ornaments. So thank you....um...umm...yeah, I think it was Ms_McKenna. She sounded guilty. But this is my first year so perhaps I am completely off and she is just good at this! to Eve....sorry I just don't know how to post pics (and please no one try to send me easy instructions because I promise that they are not easy to me because I still don't know how to get them from the camera to the computer) Also, thanks again for doing all of this.
  13. Although there is not a current one Target has started them about every 4-5 weeks. They are only ten dollars but actually I love them because they are 1. unlimited-you can use as many a you want (example 3 coupons for 3 RX's) and 2. they are good for New or Transferrred. and 3. they are even good for the types of meds that others disqualify (narcotics for chroic pain, stuff like that) Seems to me like they might be due one this weekend. Someone here might know. another thing, I don't know about where you are, but here I don't even think you need a coupon for CVS, just transfer and tell them you want to take advantage of their transfer special.
  14. I got my ornament box today. I am pretty sure I know whow it is from but I cant remember her name, maybe Callie. She lives in Texas and I think she has a lot of kids. I think last year her and her husband were adopting but I never found out the result. Do I have the right person? If she is reading maybe she can help me out. Something like MsMackenzie or Mskenzie, or pretty close to that. Tomorrow I will probably cheat and just check for the address on the card exchange list!! Darn it. I tried to cheat but I threw away the box and can't remember the address other than it was Texas. I don't know why I still think it was the one I tried to describe but there were about 3-4 from Texas on the card list.
