I bake a lot during the holidays also and have found most of my favorite recipes on allrecipes.com. Time to brag, my cookies and greek pastries are a big hit with every recipient. Your cookie program sounds like such a nice way to bring smiles to the faces of those that may otherwise not have anything or anyone to smile at. Hope you find the recipes you seek. One of my favorite on the website I noted is for Best Ever Sugar Cookies and they freeze very well. I make them for every holiday and decorate accordingly. Have fun. Kristyn

Sorry to be the one to note that you are all wrong. The Christmas stuff that's on display now is for Christmas 2007. It's even worse than you imagined!

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06

I just dropped in to whine again, no earth shattering specials in Jacksonville Florida Target. I did get one of those hand baskets full of 25 cent stuff to pass out on halloween instead of candy. This dry spell has been going on for way too long now. You guys have all the fun! -
I am pretty sure that Fortis has short term health insurance. To the best of my memory, it doesn't really cover anything and has a high deductible, but it will ensure that you proof of credible coverage from the time it starts until the time you are eligible for coverage through your (or spouses) employer. This is important because if you have a lapse in coverage of 90 days or more, they will still insure you, but they will deem almost anything as pre-exisisting, which I think they do for 18 months. You really should check into your state rules and regulation to make certain that you don't get caught up that situation. And how, you may ask, might I be aware of this information...because I had a 92 day lapse in insurance a couple of years ago and they absolutely were serious about the pre-existing status. Good Luck Kristyn

just checking in..still no terrific deals at jacksonville florida target. I am really missing my red sticker specials. They do have some stuff marked down, but the marked down prices don't seem very much lower at all than regular prices. I keep thinking that I'm wasting my time, but I so much hope that someday they return to their super-sonic bargains. this is so depressing...blah,blah,blah. I think I need a real life. -
Sorry but I must disagree. I think many power sellers even sell fakes but there are not enough buyers that can really tell the difference between a good fake and a real Dooney. Coach, Chanel, Kate Spade, and the list goes on on on. If you go onto ebay discussion lists and search for purses, bags, accessories, they have pretty good identfiying info as well as lists of frequent fakers. If you really want a Dooney and want a discount, try MArshells or TJ Maxx, the selection may be limited but at least they are real and usually 30% cheaper (or even more if on clearance).

My son in law worked for Target about a year ago and yes the discount did include clearance. I'm not sure why, but you had to pay for your order with a check or cash, no credit or debit. And I agree with the poster that said it adds up. I didn't even "borrow" his little discount card, I kept total possession of it and I confess, I even used it after he quit. I think I used it for about 2 months until my paranoia just ate me up! As far as Target here, I think they're just trying to fuzz us into quitting our usual terrific scores. Depressing indeed. I have only been to one Target in OP, I think it was on Blanding, it was a Super TArget. Wow, much too overwhelming for me. I'm sure that you already know this, but the Walmart at San JOse and 295 is expanding to Super W and they have had a few good bargain bins lately, something which I never found to be true before the growth spurt. Happy hunting and hopefully for all of the jax bargain troopers, Target will get back on track and start paying attention to "our needs. Kristyn -

Darn darn darn, my Target was dead yeaterday. Found absolutely nothing in the way of good deals and couldn't even find any left over Easter stuff (might just be too late) and of course the Target staff had no clue. TArget is almost getting a little fancy for my cheapo tastes. Still whining in jacksonville, kristyn -
I went to Michaels in Jax (san Jose) and the stuff was 70% off but to the best of my raggedy old memory, I don't think they had any fillable eggs. Actually they only had one small display case that was basicially opened/broken/incomplete items. I think Target had a lot of them (if you are in Jax, it's Target on San Jose) but that was 2 days ago so I'm not sure if they would still have some. Target is pretty good about checking for availability before you make a trip to the store. Just ask to be transferred to the Seasonal department. Oh, and at that time, they were 75% off but I read another post that said that Target was down to 90% now. WooHoo, nothing better than "almost" free.

"Head Psycho? my goodness, how could I accept that comment any way other than as a compliment? Does this position come with a crown? I try hard. Well, not too hard. Actually the psycho part comes easy. I think it comes with motherhoood. But just to prove my good intentions, I'll stop poking strangers in the butt with hat pins on busy streets. (for Law and Order fans, yes, copied right from them). Kristyn

Please excuse my previous post. I thought I was sending a note to my son's teacher, I didn't know I was posting here. I get confused easily. And by the way, any one who questions my sanity after Brad's tricks scares me! I was kidding okay?? have fun.

Brad, Brad, Brad. You got me. You win. I don't know how (heck, I just learned how to put gas in my own car!) but you made your personal posts to me impossible for me to reply. Okay, I take it back. It's not you and Ross. I'm the psycho one. You caught me. I swear I think my neighbors really are from the planet Zorga. Other than that, okay, maybe a few more things, I can't possibly figure you guys out. You do have me stumped and I admit that until now, that has been a difficult task. Lets see, what else. I don't suppose you want a full screen confession. I'm Greek Orthodox, we don't recognize confession, that's why we only confess to stuffed animals and hypnotized zebras. Want more? Okay, I promise, I'm not famous in disguise, although frequently delusional. Whew, that's all. Not really, but all for this post. And the thought that I'm the only one that knows "what's going on" is about as scary as you can get. Well, not as scary as Britney Spears acting, but pretty darn scary. Bottom line, you win. I'm still going to hang around though, you guys are kind of addictive. Not as addictive as Vicodin, but pretty darn habit-forming. So you thought you'd drive me insane out in public? Totallly fuzzed, I am. Oh and I love you.

darn, another trip to Target today with no goodies found/ I mean NOTHING! The acceptance of this fact is becoming alarmingly more difficult to handle. I may have to start searching for a 12-step program. Good night. Krisytn -

Thaks so much for the info. I use BAnk of America and I will definetely check into it's availability. I actually have had to turn down a few things due to CC paranoia. Krissy -
perfectly good reason. It's known in the medical community as psychosis.

Wow, it seems like you have my san jose mapped out pretty well. But in answer, no they have had the same stuff for a while which is basically overpriced. I can handle the fact that it's junk, just not the overpriced junk part. I don't know if you saw a post I had a few weeks ago about kmart on san jose, I got so many girl things in your kids sizes for DIRT cheap. I went there a few days ago and it looks like they still have a lot left, it is mostly girl stuff but fair amount of boy stuff. If you want me to check for boy sizes 2-3T ,I can go over tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it was mosty wintery (as much winter as jax can get!) so if they have boy things, you might want to consider bigger sizes to hang onto for another 6-8 months. If I can help, let me know. I must say that San Jose is a shoppers heaven, target, walmart, kmart, TJ maxx, Marshalls, Bealls, Big Lots, and just about everything else all within just a few miles of eachother. By hte way, I don't know if you shop Bealls (not the outlet, the regular store) but when they have clearance, they practically give the stuff away. I bought a few bags there last week that were 70% off, then 40% off ALL bags (even clearance), then an additional 40% off storewide clearance. They honestly were almost freebies! Kristyn -

this is prpbably a very good deal but they require a credit card or paypal to order. I really don't feel comfortable using either one with a company with which I have not yet done business. I just read another post about people that ordered the speigel bear and then were charged an additional charge for something they didn't approve. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I just don't like giving out that info. Maybe I need to get a major credit card with a very small limit (like 10 bucks or something) just to prevent having unauthorized charges. Thanks for the post though. I'm sure others are not paranoid! -

Boy am I bummed out . I am usually the queen of the bargains at Target but my well has been dry for at least a week now. I am sorry but Target is dead wrong if they think that 30 or even 50% off is a clearance, I want to see some that make you do a double take! I suppose I'll keep trying. The fact remains that I am still addicted to Target. DArn it! -
Kmart clothes clearence awesome deals! YMMV
krissy904 replied to starshine's topic in Offline Hot Deals
when I hit my Kmart big time score, the items did have clearance (yellow) price stickers, but the items still rang up for far less than the clearance price. I know there's at least one person on this board from jacksonville florida, so if you want to know, it's kmart on san jose blvd. oh, and have fun!
