  1. FP in EA is very close to me, but I didn't head over there in August. Was this camera on sale then? Is the sale in conjunction with ToyFest?
  2. See this thread: Super WMs - Do they close for Thanksgiving and then reopen?
  3. My PetSmart is in the same plaza as my OfficeMax -- right next door. Of course, our only pet is a goldfish, so I don't know how much I'm going to be saving on fish food. Or maybe this offer: Puppies -- buy 1, get 5 free!
  4. I have no info to back this up, but I would be very surprised if the FP3 player and Kid-Tough digital camera were not included in BF sales. I'm sure these will be big sellers this year.
  5. I went to CompUSA for midnight last year, too. I don't mind them being the only one to open early, because once I left CompUSA, we went and stood in line at Circuit City.
  6. I use Sennheiser brand because my Logitech didn't last too long. It's not the cheapest one out there, though, so if you're looking for cheap, though, the Logitech that Brad mentioned is the best deal.
  7. There was one last year that Brad put together and hosted. This is the direct link to it, but obviously last year's BF has come and gone, so it's just a generic image now. http://www.blackfridaysaleads.com/countdown.gif Brad said he'd have one, but I'm still waiting
  8. Excellent question. I used whichever font looked closest to the current GottaDeal logo, and I had to stretch it to make it taller. I'll let you know which font it was once I get home and can check my PS document. If I had to guess, I think I may have used something simple like Tahoma. It's not exact, but it's close. I like the look of the bottom half of this one, but I can guarantee you that GD hasn't ever helped me beat a line on BF!!!
  9. Forget about my family and friends . . . I think I'm nuts for shopping on BF!

    TRS New Website

I never liked TRU being listed at Amazon.
  11. It doesn't matter how many points you earn -- it matters how many points everything costs in relation to the money you spend.
  12. Daddy likey. But still, "save" works fine for the banner, especially since it's usually pre-BF for the GD BF banners. With "save," however, you might be better off saying "I save bunches of money!!!"
  13. OK, here comes a I'd just like to start this post by noting that I enjoy Christmas -- I just don't enjoy the commercialization of Christmas. I'm not a scrooge! I enjoy singing Christmas hymns in church, but I avoid (commercial) Christmas music. It's the same old boring Nat King Cole standards every single year. Even "The 12 Pains of Christmas" has gotten old by now. Even more annoying are the non-Christmas songs that are classified as Christmas songs. Why do people stop playing these after Dec 25? Frosty the Snowman, Winter Wonderlan, Sleigh Ride, Let It Snow, and Jingle Bell Rock. These are winter songs, not Christmas songs. Heck, Jingle Bells was written for Thanksgiving. We shouldn't even hear that any more by the time Black Friday rolls around!
  14. I've been reading this thread all along, but I'm not sure if this was suggested or not. Apologies if it has. Instead of punching holes in the ads (and possibly punching a hole through valuable information!), what about the binders that have the clear sheet protectors? A bit more expensive unless you already have those on hand, though. They sure will. There's already a link for the shopping list feature on blackfriday.gottadeal.com and it will be active once ads start coming out.
  15. Oh, I agree with adding the watermark, but you want to be careful not to make it look like it's an offer from GD. I'll PM you some more off-topic info.
  16. FYI, the watermark makes it look like GD is affiliated with the program
  17. Perhaps there could be the lightning round. Three items are displayed with their standard retail price, the sale price, and one or two available rebates. Whoever buzzes first needs to correctly determine the best deal. They could also list the same item and the deals from three various stores, and shoppers/contestants would need to buzz in and call out which store to go to.
  18. Naah, she's just the crazy lady who wanders around the store yelling at people whenever they take stuff out of the specials cart.
  19. For The Amazing Race suggestion earlier: You should only be given a small amount of money at the beginning. You should start out with $5, and then you would have to partake in the "Make Money" rebate offers to earn enough to start buying. By the time Round 2 starts, you'd have to pay that $5 back, so you better make money off the first few rebates!
  20. Best. Reality. Show. EVER! Another Event: "The Fallen Shopper Hurdle"
  21. Depends. Is the contested item a pair of boxing gloves?
  22. We usually impulse buy the good deals on smaller items that weren't advertised in order to have a stock of gifts.
  23. Did you check your account details to ensure that they were at least there in Pending status?
  24. Even though :gddrama2:, this would work out well. There's plenty of reality show drama in those lines! From line-cutting arguments to new couples finding out that maybe they can't bear to be with each other in a long line for hours at a time . . . it could work. Maybe the application/audition process would be the first few weeks of the show, a la American Idol. They'd have to stand in line -- different people with different strategies: Camping out, line cutting, hiding in the store the night before , and all the rest. Like I said, that would be the first few weeks, before the "meaty" part of the show started. Different categories for the game: Coupon clipping, price matching, order-of-store strategy, etc. Clearly, the top contestants would all be GD regulars.
