  1. I'm will be spending less, not necessarily because of the economy but I was a little too wasteful with my spending last year. My son doesn't play with half the toys we got him. I'm looking to get more practical amd meaningful gifts.
  2. I've been taking a lot of surveys for gift cards.
  3. The let's rock elmo looks pretty cool and is very interactive. I think this will be hot this year as well as the accessories. I showed my 2 yr old the video of it and wanted to watch it over and over again. I'm going to order one now.
  4. FYI... Plymouth Meeting is usually picked over before the clearance sales even begin. It is one of the highest volume stores in the area so a lot of time its pretty hard to find clearance deals. Malvern is a lower volume store, probably because many people don't know about it and is a gold mind when it comes to clearance items.
  5. I went to my Children's Place and there was nothing to write home about. A little disappointed.
  6. I know they had the $4.99 jean sale around this time last year. Was wondering if anyone heard about one for this year. Thanks in advance.
  7. If someone is still looking for a white DSi and is in the Philadelphia area, the Plymouth Meeting store had 3 units on the shelf as of 4PM this afternoon.
  8. Its the mob mentality that get people acting like fools in these videos. The retail stores should train their security employees on crowd control and have people lined up prior to opening the doors. Best Buy has a pretty good handle on this and other retailers should really do some benchmarking. These videos really show the ugly side of people. My BF strategy has changed over the years and I do the bulk of my shopping on amazon. I now go into a store 30 minutes to an hour after they open and am able to get what I am looking for. I never go for the crazy doorbusters anymore and it works for me. Wouldn't that be a great documentary to do (though I'm sure one has been done)...
  9. Had a good Black Friday and I was able to get some amazing deals. Snuck out early Thanksgiving Day, when I should have been cooking, to CVS and Walgreens. I'm do not usually go out on Thanksgiving, but this deal was too good to pass up. CVS: 3 packages of Duracell batteries for $0.77 after coupons and rewards Walgreens: 3 pk scotch tape and buy 1 get 2 free wrapping paper amazon.com (Thursday and Friday): various dvds, blu rays, and video games; camcorder; power wheels jeep bestbuy.com (Thursday): Nook for $99 - it must have been meant to be because I was totally NOT planning to buy this online and just happened to click on the site when they were available. My husband is going to be very surprised. Target (Friday): PJs; Cars big wheel; hat/glove sets; Marley and Me DVD, NBA Jam for Wii picture frames ...going back to get the logitech mouse Staples (Friday): random things my Mom wanted me to pick up Home Depot: Pre-lit wreath Walmart: random $5 blu rays Overall, I was really impressed with how Target handled the BF sale..very organized and plenty of associates available to help. Was disappointed in walmart.com's policy not to honor a price adjustment on an item with a price drop, so I ended up refusing the delivery and buying it from amazon.com. (significant difference in price for a high ticket item plus with Amazon, I saved the sales tax.) Overall good day and tonight I will be relaxing watching some movies. I'll probably head out to Macys and Boscovs tomorrow to pick up some odds and ins. Hoping to have the majority of my shopping done by the end of the weekend. Plus by then I will have checked the credit card balance from all this spending and have had a heart attack. :)
  10. Just received an email from TRU and they are extending all Friday doorbusters to 10PM tonight.
  11. I rode past our BB and Target around 7 tonight. I was surprised to see only 4 people in the BB line and NO ONE at Target. (These are some of the highest volume stores in the area) It must be the weather, cold and raining, that is having such a big impact.
  12. Praise God!!! I was able to get a nook.
  13. The only game I'm interested is regular price. Oh well.
  14. Are there usually people camping out for hhgregg? They just opened in my area and I was curious how Black Friday is there. Any feedback is appreciated as I'm interested in the Sony Camcorder.
  15. Do you think there will be a special on this Sony @ BB this year? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+VAIO+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174;+Core%26%23153;+i3+Processor+/+14%22+Display+/+4GB+Memory+/+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Pink/1245962.p?id=1218242192022&skuId=1245962&st=sony%20viao%20laptop&cp=1&lp=4

  17. I was able to pick up two later in the day and had no problems. I was also surprised that they still had some left.
  18. Here is one that is pretty simple to make and comes out really good. Doesn't taste like a box cake at all. Eggnog Cake Recipe Ingredients 1 package yellow cake mix 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 extra large eggs, lightly beaten 1 1/2 cups eggnog 4 tablespoons butter, melted 2 tablespoons rum, optional Powdered sugar for dusting Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a standard Bundt pan (or use cooking spray that contains flour). Don't skip this step or you'll have a sticky mess on your hands. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Beat for four minutes, on medium speed with an electric mixer. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and invert onto a cooling rack and cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
  19. I've started already. I tend to find much better toy deals in Oct and Nov (before BF), which is a big part of my list.
  20. There is also a $5 coupon out there too. Got one in the mail about 2 weeks ago.
