  1. I don't know this for sure but I've been hearing of some games (esp ones younger kids like) requiring live memberships. I'm pretty sure my friend said some game they bought their son's required it to play even in single mode.
  2. My peeves are: 1. People ramming with the cart. One year I asked an older woman to please stop hitting me with her cart nicely 3 times, after she made rude noises and did it again I turned around and told her if she hit me with it one more time I was going to be not so nice about it. (Oddly enough she didn't do it again) 2. People who walk around aimlessly and don't pay attention to where they are walking, who they are blocking. It gets on my nerves something fierce. 3. People who are rude to the employees, I try to be super nice and ask how they are and how long they have to work, amazing what they will do for you when you treat them well. Has got me supposedly sold out DoorBusters before.
  3. We have 3 artificial trees and we buy 1 real tree each year. This year since we're back in the north we are going to go cut one. The artificial ones we have are a HUGE 9' that goes where the high ceilings are lol it's kind of old now and most everyone who see's it thinks it's real. I got a really good deal on it the week before Christmas at Sears, was like a $650 tree I paid like $150 because of the time and the fact it was the last one they had and was a display model. The other two are a normal sized one that we gave away when we moved (will get replaced) that went in our loft before and this year will probably go in our basement and then a small pink one that goes in our daughters room with all her special ornaments on it. As for real it's all in how fresh you can get them, I avoid the stores like Home Depot and Lowes and we try to get them from Vendors and we pay attention to when they came in. When we get them home I usually spray them down and keep them in a warmed area and put them in some water until it's dried out. Then once again just before we take it in the house I take a slice off the trunk and make sure the branches on the bottom are cleaned up for the perm stand. Keep it nicely watered and we have been adding some of the tree additives they sell in the stores (seems to help). Regardless of real or artificial just make sure you get something you like and look at it from different angles.
  4. Before we moved to MI we had a room in our house that we call the Christmas room, we have Thomas Kinkaid paintings that were hung and are of the old time Christmas and snow look so we left out certain decorations for Christmas in there all year. Always made us smile looking around
  5. I would tell them Yes to the occupy question. Tell them yes I am I'm occupying this line and I'm about to occupy that Doorbuster laptop and LED TV.
  6. If you have a visa or mc you can always just pay it off once you buy your stuff and carry a 0 balance on it. That way if someone get's it you can get it swapped out with no real issues.
  7. My tip is a simple one. When looking for the deals don't look only in the areas that the deal should be, look around the store keep your eyes open and investigate. Many times we have found things hidden around the stores, sometimes they are things that seem to be gone and sometimes it's been DoorBuster items someone has either left behind or hidden to come back for. We have have found pj's in electronics and printers in the food areas far from where they are supposed to be.
  8. We used to go to Disney a lot before we moved and they always do gingerbread houses and have them in the different hotels and places in the parks. I had to go out to the internet and find this but here is an image of the one from last year (and yes those are real people). http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/GFs-Gingerbread-House.jpg
  9. Watched some of it on my phone. Couldn't believe how long it took to go through the Half priced books ad. Thought it was NEVER going to end.
  10. To me the difference is that I can do it at any time of the morning/afternoon/day/night and not have to leave my house and family for hours and hours. I can put something in a shopping cart on my smart phone and checkout in minutes if need be. I am still with my family still talking to them, still being present and so forth. Now there are many people who like to work the holidays for many reasons some as stated above more pay, but there are also many places that force their workers to be there or will not allow any vacation time during this part of the year. To each their own on it and yes maybe I'm a hypocrite because I watch TV and football on those days.
  11. It's funny how in the same instance someone can trash our faith in humanity then someone else comes along and restores it. Whacky whacky world we live in.
  12. I will use a CC, affords me more protection on my purchases. I don't like having to get them replaced with the breaches but for now at least it's a fact of life. Hopefully with the new breed of CC's coming out things will get better. I'm not a big cash person, just as dangerous if someone really wants it, pick pockets, thieves and people being mugged for it. Not to mention can't pay with cash on the websites where it happens just as often lol.
  13. This is any different than any other day at Wal Mart?
  14. In the past it's been my wife, my mil and myself. This year since we are in another state it will be my wife and myself, MAYBE my sister and her husband.
  15. We normally go into it with 2 different laptops, we split what we want from each store and both go at it. Reduces the amount of time it takes to get that order in. I usually have the CC numbers prepped (sometimes ready to be cut and pasted into place to speed up the checkout time. Using this method we have been pretty successful at getting what we want. If the order from a store is small then the other will take another store. We know to do it in smaller lots not try and put everything in the cart at some time (some don't show up till the last minute) and then checkout.
  16. It will depend on when we get in our new house but usually we start right around Thanksgiving. Real tree will come early December but most everything else is Thanksgiving.
  17. I remember going out with my grandmother and mom when I was younger so it's been more years than I want to admit lol. I know I have been doing it at least the past 17+ years on my own lol.
  18. It was probably the person in the store who was arranging everything so only they could get what they wanted Once they got their stuff hidden they snuck off to hide and take a nap until the locksmith got there and they "opened", at which point they slipped out into the crowd and then went to their hiding spot to gather up their bounty and go pay for it.
  19. Got my daughter hooked on it last year. She will start asking about it soon. We have the whole collection on DVD with Rudolph, Santa and Frosty. Childhood favorites of both mine and my wife's.
