To me BF is more than just the items on sale. It's a part of tradition, I at times think it's also about the hunt not just the score

I'm hoping they have some killer deals on the Surface Pro 3 this year. Messed with one for work and I think it would be a nice replacement for a laptop we use, just need a great price and the KB with it lol.

What's everyone's #1 Black Friday item on your list so far?

I've been considering adding an MS Surface Pro 3 tablet to the list if they have any good deals on them. I've heard a newer one is coming out and if the price is right I would consider the current one. Would be a nice replacement for a laptop we have seeing as it will run all apps full blown. -
Ya I can't wait to see the shirts this year Hope it goes smoother this year for them lol

We have a thread on the secret sales so figured I would ask you all about your best and worst memories from BF year's past. I think some of my best memories are the more simple things, going out in the middle of the night shopping with my wife and our family, then we ALWAYS go out to cracker barrel and have breakfast around 7am before heading back for rounds 2 and 3 of shopping. Taking that load home and resting for a few then heading back out for a second pass through of some of the places like Walmart, Target and Toys R Us. ALWAYS end up finding some of the door busters deals hidden away in some spot that some person forgot about. Take them up to the register and at least at Walmart 9 out of 10 times get them for the reduced price. Lots of fun. One of my worst memories was one year we had gone back to Best Buy after eating breakfast for their 9am sale to start. My mother in-law wanted some TomTom GPS's for presents. So my brother in-law and I headed into Best Buy while her and my wife went to another store. SO my b-i-l and I get in line and are waiting for the magic time to roll around we are talking to a lady right by us and she is WAY pregnant. Really nice lady was telling us she is there just for this for her husband for Christmas. The BB employee comes over and is just getting ready to start giving them out when some jerk guy comes bowling through the crowd and darn near knocks the pregnant lady over by slamming into her. Now I'm by nature a protective person and not exactly small or frail, my b-i-l is the same way. Just as this guy goes to push through I turn and tell him he had better back off before he finds himself in a world of hurt, he goes to open his mouth looks at me looks at my b-i-l, looks at a couple other guys who just started to join us and wisely decides to leave not just the area but the store. We made sure the lady was ok made sure she got what she was there for. Funny thing about it all was they had a decent amount of them I think most everyone that was in line with us got at least one as this person most likely would have had he not tried to be a moron. Got to love people Rest of the day was good as was all the time leading up to that also.

I always remember in 2006 when we got our plasma tv from Best Buy it was one of the Door Busters. Well I was like 5th in line when we got in. They had 4 in stock and when they announced that they didn't have any more in stock a lot of people got really crappy about it and were flat out rude. So I was still standing there and started to talk to the sales lady who was by me. She told me I can still get one if I want it that as part of their secret sale they had MORE of them the only catch was that you had to wait until Saturday to get it. I was super nice to her and I was like hey I'm all in. She smiled and wrote me up they even kicked in their shipping and setup right to my house. Next evening Best Buy showed up, unboxed and setup our new HD TV. I've found it always pays to be as nice as possible to the people who work there.

We have picked up little things here and there since last year lol. Bulk will come Black Friday though.

My in-laws have Sling TV. When we were down there in July for a few weeks I used it quite often. It's pretty nice the streaming works well you get to watch TV as if you didn't change anything. The channels are still somewhat limited but from when I helped them get it all up and running in April and when we were back in July they had added a few more channels. All in all it worked pretty well. If you have shows you are really into just make sure you can still get those.

Oh ya I'm waiting for those to roll around. Hoping I have the time to join more this year.

I'm a year behind, I'm pretty sure I was here the year before but didn't join

What I just read was that they are coming to North America also the date just isn't set in stone yet.

I worked lot's of hours but I was on the other coast for weeks at a time so I had the weekends to game and chill at the hotel.
-
I worked out of town a lot and would game at night with friends online, can't take a tower case, screen and everything else with me on jobs. To be honest though the reason I wanted a high power laptop was I did a lot of 3D work so I wanted the discrete graphics. Yes they get more expensive but just like a desktop the better the equipment you put into the machine the more expensive that machine comes. I used an external mouse and a Nostromo for controls. I hate using the pad for day to day let alone trying to game on something like that.

I have AppleTV and Amazon Firestick. I like the FireStick, it's even nicer if you have Amazon Prime. AppleTV to me is still just a side thing, we mostly use it for when we want to share things from our phones or iPad on the TV.

Sorry yes it was a typo That is the company.

I got a really good deal on 42" Vizio last year from Sam's Club on BF. I was up super late helping with some stuff so I caught it within minutes of it going live lol.
-
Saeger makes excellent gaming laptops. Far more reasonably priced. I have one that I bought a long time ago that i gave to my b-i-l thing is still a beast of a machine.
-
What is everyone thinking for a 48"-50" 4K tv this year? I'm not looking for top of the line but want to stay at least in the Vizio quality area.
-
I'm waiting for it to really take off and all the holiday talk to get started. I love the movie threads and the recipes and all that. Thanksgiving, Christmas has ALWAYS been my favorite time of the year. I'm also waiting for the call to go out for helpers lol.

lol nice

Won't pay $200 for the new AppleTV if that's what it comes out as. Rumors have it either $199 or $149 both I think are too much. I would like a 4K TV but it may end up the one in our bedroom if there is a great sale since we just got a 70" for the living room after we moved into the new house. That one will last a while. I have a TiVo Roamio Pro in the livingroom with a TiVo mini with lifetime in the bedroom. Nice setup. I always watch what they bring out, have been a customer since the year the original one came out.

XBox 360 games will work on the Xbox one soon. With the next update they are adding backwards compatibility.

About the only things I'm really looking for are a MacBook for my wife to replace the one I bought her about 6-7 years ago. Possibly a TV for the Bedroom so the one in there now can be pushed out to my office or the workout room.
