I was thinking about the $1 phone and the Slow Cooker (would be good for our tailgating dips) but it's Turkey day and I say no mas.

I really like his methods and recipe's in general, I've just always found wet brining to be scary for novice cooks so I went with the tried and true lol. I normally fry our turkey after injecting it with a homemade injection sauce before it goes in. This year I'm going to try smoking it and see how that comes out. I pray for my guests, one because it's my first time doing a turkey this way, two because I will have to be up looking at ad's all night and waiting for things to go online and I will also be going out to start the turkey REALLY early so I may be cranky. That topped with I will have to watch my Lions get destroyed on TV yet again this season.

This is the first real holiday we will have being back in MI and in our new house. We did a test run for Halloween and it was nice, kids went and played in the basement and had lot's of room to run around and yell lol.

Wow I COMPLETELY forgot Pumpkin Pie Turkey is fairly easy to make. Preheat your oven to 325. Make sure the turkey is completely thawed, open it up and make sire you get all the giblets and neck and such out of it. I usually rinse it out well then pat it all dry. I usually put a little olive oil on the skin sprinkle with some salt and pepper inside and out. Put it in a shallow roasting pan (if you use the aluminum disposable ones I suggest a cookie sheet under for stability) breast side up. Roast it until the thickest part of the breast is about 165 degrees and the thigh is about 180. Usually about 2/3 rds of the way into cooking I cover it loosely with foil so that the skin doesn't get overdone. I've also seen people put the foil on for the first hour or so then pull it, whichever works for you. The time in the over will depend on the size of the bird. Once you pull it from the oven let it sit for 10-15 minutes for the juices to pull back in then carve it up.

Should be about 15-20 people here for dinner.

Who is ready to decorate? When will you start decorating?

Ya it was like 75 here yesterday. Not the kind of weather that makes me think fall lol. I got new Christmas Lighting computer all setup and got the relays working. Now I just have to build the receptacle's and get it all put in a weatherproof box and I should be ready to start putting up the lights and having the show ready. I grabbed a few of the Trans Siberian Orchestra songs now I just need to find some more songs to have it play. I need them in MP3 format. Any suggestions for songs people would like to hear and see in a Christmas light display? -

It's what I do. I bought the Xbox One as a bundle and to be honest haven't even downloaded the 3 games that came with it.

In my experience I prefer physical media. I guess I'm old school. When the consoles do away with them I think I will be a console person no more. I like media I can sell, trade, lend to family/friends. I also like the fact that the HUGE game (code and art) isn't sitting there hogging up my drive space when I'm not playing it. I tend to play games in cycles I won't touch one for a long time then I will go back months later and start playing it. As for the game being there no it's usually a DL you have to make after you spend hours waiting for the console to update to the latest firmware/os versions

I shop with my wife and sometimes we bring others. This year my sister and her hubby are supposed to go with us but not sure if that will happen or not.

Each week we serve over 260 million guests all with only 2 registers open

We collect things that are either home made or at least look it. We have some for specials events in our lives and things of that nature. We have multiple trees that go up so we will keep collecting stuff.

I lived there for 17 years and we will be buying a 2nd home there again so thats why I said it lol

I was there last Friday It's an awesome place, I could spend a fortune there. You can rush through or you can take an entire day looking at everything. Don't just look at the stuff for sale make sure you look up at the ceilings where they have everything decorated. I honestly wonder how many Christmas trees they have in there. After that it was off to Frankenmuth for a chicken dinner.

I have been at it a long time. Been going with my grandmother since the 80's I think it is.

Congrats everyone

If it involves insanity it most likely happens in FL

They have stores here but to be honest have never been in one. Some of my friends swear by them but the couple of times I have looked at like hiking boots and stuff their prices were always higher than Dicks or Amazon.

I'm actually working on a new lighting controller made from a raspberry pi. I hope to have it completed in the next couple of weeks. We will start our decorating BF weekend. Hope to be able to have that ready and working and set everything else up. -
We don't really have a budget, we determine about what we want to spend on everyone and use that as a guide. Sometimes it comes out less sometimes it's more.

Very funny
