    Where are the ads?

    Same here!!!!!
  2. We are spending less over all since we are done shopping for the neices/nephews (found some awesome clearance sales through the year) and are not exchanging store bought gifts with the siblings. We also already started shopping for our kids and picked up a few small gifts for each. Hoping to get the kids their main gifts on BF (MP3 players and a leapfrog hand held gaming system)
  3. Things we do every year with our kids 1. Make ornaments (foam ornament kits, bead ornament kits) 2. Make a ginger bread house (from kit) 3. Bake and decorate cookies 4. Go driving around looking at lights (bring along blanket, freshly baked christmas cookies, hot cocoa) 5. Movie night in (select a couple christmas movies, make popcorn, get comfy and relax) 6. Take the kids to get picture taken with Santa Have him check his area to see if there are any free events coming up like parades, concerts, tours, etc that they can enjoy together.

    Big Toy Book

We got our book yesterday and it only had the 20% off 1 toy on the book. I will pick up the paper this weekend to see of there are any coupons in that book if so then we will break it donw into 2 seperate transactions.
  5. Not my recipe - found it on the back of the reese pb chips bag but these are a big favorite in our house.... Reese Chewy Chocolate cookies 2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup Cocoa 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1-1/4 cups (2-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips Directions: Heat oven to 350°F. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; set aside. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in peanut butter chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. (Do not overbake; cookies will be soft. They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling.) Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
  6. Thanks for posting however I see we will be skipping walmart as we have found the items the kids want cheaper elsewhere.
  7. Thank Brad and congrats to the other winners... I know it must have been tough as they are all great quotes!
  8. 1. See what happens when carts try to play leap frog! 2. Dude..did you remember to bring the money? 3. Ok to warm up lets start off with some jumping jacks.
  9. Thanksgiving weekend is when we decorate for Christmas.
  10. I have been fightening the urge to wrap some of the gifts I have however I am trying to hold off until mid Nov when I finish my pre holiday cleaning.
  11. We are 1/2 way done shopping for our kids now. Their main gift which is a joint gift is done. We still have several more gifts but one minute I will feel like they have enough and the next I think they don't have enough. We try to keep some of their gifts very useful like clothes and a couple new books each.
  12. Almost 50 days left and NO ADS YET!!! What gives??? Someone needs to leak an ad and SOON.....please
  13. Alot of the members shop BF too so not too many think I am crazy when it comes to BF. However many do think I am crazy for thinking about BF/Christmas year round and christmas shopping year round (about 1/3 to 1/2 of my Christmas shopping is done on BF)
  14. We wait until Oct, after the kids birthdays and then take them to toys r us and spend the afternoon walking around the store. The kids will tell us what they want and we write it down in a notebook...then later that evening we have them mark off the top favorite items. This also helps when we have family members asking what the kdis want

    Big Toy Book

I googled the realease date all I could find was the release dates of past years. From what I saw the release date of 10/26 was for last year's book.
  16. My daughter is 9 and was never really into playing with barbie dolls but she has been pleading for Moxie dolls.

    Big Toy Book

I remember the Big Toy Book sale starting on Halloween few years ago so it is possible that it could start on Halloween this year.
  18. Congrats to all the winners!
  19. For the past couple of years after Christmas I have bought the foam ornament kits for the kids. We pick an afternoon and the kids will make a foam ornament for their grandparents, aunts, uncles and god parents. My daughter will also make one for her teachers and bus driver. The night before the last day of school before the Christmas break we will let the kids dip pretzel rod into melted chocolate (milk, dark and white choc) They can either sprinkle colored sugar crystals over the wet chocolate or after the choc sets up they will drizzle a different flavored choc over the dipped choc. We will bag them up and tie off the bag and attach the ornament which now can double as a name tag! These were a big hit last year... very inexpensive to do and it was fun, easy family project.
  20. We always tell our kids they can ask for what ever they want HOWEVER they will NOT get everything they ask for. If they question why we explain that Santa can only bring them so much stuff, he needs to have enough toys to deliver to other kids and only has so much room in his sleigh. So far that has worked like a charm.
  21. Shaving gel & razors re-useable water bottle favorite candy/snacks slipper socks/christmas socks, gloves chapstick Ornament Packs of hot cocoa DVD
  22. Fun exciting day filled with greals deal for christmas!
  23. We have been shopping since the day after last Christmas. We are about 1/3 to 1/2 way done now but get the majority of the rest on Black Friday
  24. This year I have to work the day before Thanksgiving (last year I had off) so I will be up late that night getting as much prep work done as possible and getting, baking pies, getting the pepperoni bread and breakfest casseroles made up to be baked early in the morning before the turkey goes in. On Thanksgiving morning I may go to Kmart, depending if they have anything good that I want. After all the guest leave on T-Day i will go throuh the ads on last night and double check my shopping list and then relax before heading off to bed. On BF i will get around 3 and head out the door a very short time later. Walmart is only 10 minutes down the road so that is my first stop. After I am done then it's home to unload and pick up DH and then we head out to do the rest of our shopping. Last year we were done by 11:00 am and then it was home to start start decorating for Christmas!
