In the past my kids put together little snack pack bags and tied them off with homemade foam ornaments. THese snack packs would contain hot cocoa mix or a bottle of water, bag of micorwave popcorn and a treat either holiday candy/cookies or rice crispy treat. Other times the kids have given $5 - $10 gift cards to local deli store so they could get coffee in the mornings or pick up lunch one day.

As long as people are willing to give up their Thanksgiving traditions for the deals the times will start earlier and earlier. It's sad. I LOVE getting great deals but I am not going to change or give up my Thanksgiving tradition to get those deals. I will still shop but at my own time.
-
I will have a couple family memebers if I had seen any deals on particlar item or 2. I do pick up gifts for my kids from my parents on that day since they are older and due to health issues can not go out for them selves plus are on fixed incomes. They do pay me for the gifts and I dont mind helping them out but I will not be shopping for anyone else. I doubt I will be out long shopping this year.

I really hope no earlier then last years times. I am not fan of these early times. We host Thanksgiving dinner so I will not head out shopping until after the kids are in bed and the guests have left.
-
We also do all the decorating inside and out Thanksgiving weekend.

We are thinking about getting Disney Infinity for our kids as group gift but not sure which console to get it for as we have both the xbox and the wii.

I have to agree. Our kids want one and I may go put one one layaway soon.

We start Thanksgiving after dinner and continue through the weekend. A house in my town has already started putting up their outside deocrations earlier this week but have not turned them on yet.
-
I am out shopping less with the earlier times. We host Thanksgiving and have family/friends over. I do not to rush them out of the house to cut my time short with them because the stores are opening earlier on Thanksgiving. If I see a MUST HAVE item that is on my list that may only be a couple dollars more than the BF prices I will go ahead and pick it up. Last year I went to the Walmart at 10 pm on Thanksgiving, picked up the movies and games I wanted and then went home and went back to bed. Hubby and I got up around 5 am on BF morning and headed out shopping to shops that were 20 to 30 minutes away and we were home before 10 am. When the stores opened at 4/5 am we were out shopping until mid afternoon. Another thing with people being up all day on Thanksgiving and then being up all night shopping, I am surprised there are not more car accidents where the driver fell alsleep at the wheel.
-
If they open that early then I May miss out some things as I will NOT go shopping that early since we will still have company at our house.
-
Last year my we got the 4GB with a call of duty game for $199 on Thanksgiving morning. Granted the 4GB space goes fast but my DH but a large flash drive to plug into the xbox and that solved the space issue.

Spending the day shopping with my hubby and getting all the great deals.

In our house their main gift comes from mom and dad. Santa fills their stocking and brings 4 - 5 smaller gifts each. We tell our kids that they can ask Santa for whatever they want HOWEVER just becuase they asked for does not mean they will get it. We have explained that Santa has so many kids to deliver gifts too they he can not grant every request. He also has to take into consideration how good they have been, how much stuff they already have and he knows which items requested are really wanted and which ones were requested because so and so has one (he doesn't grant those request nor does he grant live animal requests)

We eat around 4ish.
