My DH LOVES his Zune. He got it last year for Christmas. I guess it depends on his interests. Things I have gotten are hard drives, gaming headphones, LCD monitors, XM Radio. Also, shoes, shirts, and coats. He also loves playing games, so new games and stuff to go with that. He also likes his PSP. How about DVDs, CDs, wallet, pajama pants, robe, accessories for his hobby, books, magazines, 1-a-day calendar for his desk, stuff for the car. Tickets for a sports game is a good idea, or if he doesn't do sports (like my DH), maybe a concert or musical? I think I am giving Renaissance Festival tickets to mine this year. He is also getting a lot of Transformers. Hope some of these ideas help! Good luck!

Sounds like perfect gifts for my two sons as well! How are you doing the cottage cheese? Will you put ice packs in the stocking, or put it in a thermos? My DS8 would love that. Cottage cheese and Chex Mix are his favorite foods.

Sounds perfect! Congrats! I'm sure she will love it!

Okay, maybe I'm the meanie here, but I wouldn't even let my daughter play with makeup when she was 11. At 13 she could wear only blush and a little eye shadow, no eyeliner or anything. I used to HATE it when her dad's family would give her makeup, and they would always give her tons, I guess because that's what you think of for tweens. And it was sad for her because it was a present she couldn't use.

Wow, that's a hard one. It is over a year old, so that's making it hard to find and cost more. Even Lego.com is out of stock. But they have a delivery date of before 31 January, so at least they're still making them. Good luck!

Ooh, we must be long lost relatives! I'm Foxy Nippy-Toes

Yikes! So sorry! I hate when I do goofy stuff. If he has Guitar Hero II or III he can use the guitar from that instead. I think I read that the instruments won't be available by themselves until February. But, if you get Rock Band Special Edition, that comes with guitar, drums, and microphone for $169. They are a little tricky to find, but I think it could be done. Good luck!

Yuck! I'm so sorry! When my paper hasn't been delivered, I was able to go online and file it with the newspaper. My paper was delivered within an hour. Won't really help you now, but maybe you can look into that in the future.

ToysRUs still had it at full price, since it was in their catalog, and it is a new item. Possibly it was the regular Fly Pen that was on clearance, not the Fly Fusion.
-
This doesn't help you much now, but both Target and ToysRUs had them in the toy catalog that ends today with a free item. ToysRUs is still showing it now, with free shipping, so maybe you still can grab that. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2661707 I have not seen them on sale anywhere, only store incentives.

Actually, I have read that it is compatible with iTunes cards. Not sure about the software. But I agree that the Zune software is great. You can have it on up to 3 computers, even if there is no Zune attached to it. My DS11 has no problem using it, and he no Zune (yet!). And, even though the new Zunes just came out, there is an update to the 'old' ones that give them almost all the features of the new ones!

Any clue what time this will start? The GPS is showing up now to buy, (wasn't at 3am) but still at $239, even after I add it to my cart and click Checkout. -
We need that rule here too!

I usually do *pretty* good sticking to the list. I sometimes go overboard making the list, but that's a different topic. :) Where I really do badly, though, is at Kohl's. That is always one of my last stops, so I'm not hurrying to get anywhere else, and I look at everything and shop. Cuz everything there is so practical! Kids can always use a new coat, jammies, undies, DH a new shirt, gloves, Jammies for me, and everyone would love a candle! You get the picture! Plus, they give me $10 for every $50 I spend!
-
Yes, they are very long! Usually after we've done the bulk of our shopping, my Mom will get in line, and I'll do short little runs to get the last few things on our list.

My niece (6) got one a few weeks ago, and she and her brother (3) and sister (4) loved it. Not sure if the fun has worn off yet though. It will record things you say, then you have a little remote that you program the buttons, and then you can choose what you want it to say. Maybe it does more too, I haven't really played with it. Pretty cute I guess though, especially for the little ones.

Thanks Brad! I really like that ladder too. It says limited edition, so its not listed online yet. But the 13' is $99, so $89 for 17' and a free work platform seems REALLY good!

The last few years we have had 2 big trees, little trees in the 3 kids' rooms, and a couple other 2-3ft trees. We have no room in our living room for a tree, so we take our dining room table down, and put our big main tree there, in front of the big picture window. Last year I got all new gingerbread and candy ornaments. It kills me, though, not being able to decorate my dining room table. I bought some gingerbread house placemats, in case I can figure out a way to keep up my table. There is also a little bitty candy-decorated tree beside the big tree. Our other big tree is in my bedroom, decorated in the kids' crafts and "toy" ornaments, Star Wars, Nascar, SpongeBob, Thomas, etc. I'm hoping to find 1 or 2 more 6-7 ft trees on clearance this year, so I can have them in a few more places. I like the idea of a bathroom tree, I'll probably do that this year!

One year the kids got a big game table, and we weren't sure if it would fit in the "Christmas room" with the rest of the stuff. And, if we really wanted to move it downstairs later. We were considering putting it where it would eventually go, and leaving a trail of those little wrapped candy canes. DH ended not going for that, wanted it under the tree. Okay with me, he had to move it. I think it would have been cute, though, to see who thought to follow the trail first!
-
Ooh, me too! Do you think the kids will mind if they get one less present? I forgot to budget in fancy trees for me this year. I'll let them look at my trees...

My daughter gets a silver bell every year, has since she was born. Probably the collection is more for me though. Middle DS loves nutcrackers, and youngest DS decided last year that he also wanted nutcrackers, instead of a car ornament. For me, it's trains. Love em. Can't wait to put out my new Lego Christmas train I got last month! And last year I bought all new ornaments, gingerbread and candy. (Couldn't find enough train ornaments to cover a tree.) Now, I've become obsessed with GINGERBREAD TRAINS! DH would like to have lots of penguins. But we're out of room for now. Maybe next time we change themes.

http://catalog.target.com/KidsHTC2007/default.aspx?action=browsepageflash&storeid=2413636&promotioncode=Target-071101-TOYS&pagenumber=1&versionnum=1.4 If for some reason it doesn't work, go to Weekly Ad, then on the right hand side, it says View Target Catalogs, and Choose Toy Catalog from the drop-down. HTH!

It does. I use IE7 with Vista. It should work in XP too. Open Favorites, right click on folder, choose Open in Tab Group.

Official Non-Woot "Deal-a-Day" Sites Deal & Discussion Thread

We love Zunes here. My husband got one when they first came out, and he has absolutely loves it. He is a previous iPod user, and much prefers the Zune. My DD will get one for her 16th BD next week, and that's all she's talking about (besides wanting a car, of course!). We got it from Woot the first time in August. My 11 yo DS will get one of these black ones for Christmas. As far as for buying an older one, you can update it to have almost all the features of the newer ones, so you won't be missing out. I think really the only thing that won't be updated is the file types for movies. One neat new thing is that they will now sync with your Media Center recordings. The new ones will be 80GB, so those are huge! They will be $249, like they were before. They are also coming out with Flash versions, that are kinda like the shuffle, but have a screen and also play video. Those are 4 MB and 8MB, and will cost $149/$199. So this Woot deal is really a good deal. One last thing, is they have a really nice subscription service. The software can be installed on 3 computers, and have separate playlists. The kids are already loving that! HTH someone!
