  1. Gonna be a great game though! Might want to order it from gamestop when it does come out. ANd buy the insurance for a couple bucks. Its guaranteed to be played a lot. I pre-ordered Harry Potter lego for the wii from amazon and the kids managed to scratch it beyond repair with in 3 days. We have a PS3 as well so I replaced it with a PS3 disc. The Blu Ray PS3 discs are almost indestructible. Gamestop will replace the wii (or the PS3 discs) if you buy the insurance . Its a couple bucks I think. Thanks for the reminder actually. Now that I think about it I am preordered on the Wii from Amazon already for that one. Did it back in the summer or earlier before this harry potter fiasco and I need to cancel it and buy it at gamestop (they also do preorders), or get it for the PS3 instead.

  7. We bought about 3 years ago now. My husband bought a 80 GB in late 2007. I did my research and promptly returned it for a 60 GB which was BC via HARDWARE, at the time the 80 GB was also suppose to be BC but via a software solution. Since we bought the thing to play Sly Fox Thievious Racoon Games (PS2 only) I thought hardware compatibiltiy was important. Didn't play it a for much else for a year or so (we also bought a Wii and my son was only 7 when we bought both systems.). Now we play it a lot more. Because the kids are older, the PS3 games are more affordable, and there are many more kid-friendly titles to chose from. Side notes: 1) I love the PS3. I am an adult nongamer, but it plays DVD's so beautifully and there are more and more E and E10+ games coming out all the time (all the lego games are available pretty cheap for the PS3 as well as titles like madagascer, the new toy story and the Ratchet and Clank's (which is I'd say for 7+.) And It streams netflix so well! Only my Macs do it better but I prefer to view on the TV. I own an apple TV, a Wii, and 3 Home computers, as well as the PS3/ 2) PS3 game disks are mostly indestructible. The are blue ray and so don't get trashed like the wii disks which cost the same or often more these days. If you've ever spent close to $50 on a Wii game and had to toss it after a couple days having done every thing you could to save it (including the disk buffing machines)'; it is painful. 2)We have since bought a GAme Cube (predecessor to the Wii) just so we could play game cube games. Even though the Wii is suppose to be BC. The minidiscs were getting stuck in the Wii drive and wouldn't eject and also just played better on the Gamecube. We picked it up for $20 at gamestop about 6 months ago and it included one controller. 3.) If I were in your situation I might fork over the bucks for a PS3, it is a quality machine and if ours died today, I'd buy a new one tomorrow. That said I would look for a 60GB PS3 first (at a good price like max $150 maybe $200.) They were the last ones to be TRULY backward compatible . Not finding one at a reasonable price, I would buy the new PS3 and then look for a used PS2 to play the old games on. Paying less than a hundred, maybe even $75. There are some amazing PS2 classics like SLY RACCON -----fantastic for young kids. Can't recommend it enough. In conclusion, our 3 year old PS3 is still a powerful machine, even today. Sony builds things to last and our 60 GB seems no less (and perhaps even more) than the PS3's being sold today. Last two notes. 1) CON:It sucks down the juice. Some times I think I could warm myself standing next to it. 2) What the heck are these massive hard drives for? You probably won"t use it anyway so who cares how big it is? We've never used it for anything more than saving game data. May your holidays be merry! Brainfreeze
  8. Happy Holidays! What lego deal may I ask? Still available?
  9. The deal at our gamestop was BF $59.99 and regular $79.99. A side note, if you are replacing a broken DS, Gamestop gave me $40 for a broken DS (store credit) and then I guess they refurb them. I applied the money to a new DS replacement because the stores around us are very low in used DS stock, and having traded in a well used one I was a little wary. We traded in a few hot games and the DS was like half off! I think $20 - $40 is what you get for a trade in DS. I was just shocked they would want to take a broken one!
  10. You may want the new one instead... http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/videogames/detail-page/B002DC8GIG.05.lg.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Dance-Revolution-Hottest-Bundle-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002DC8GIG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1261196914&sr=8-1 There is also a new one out. Amazon has DDRHP3 for $62.99. It's all about the songs. Check both song lists. Also if you have a balance board there is some integration in the new version. Also if you are new to the "sport" or have youngish children, the DDRHP3 has a dance school mode and a relax mode so you can learn a bit slower.
  11. I actually had that model (the 205 without the W.) I bought it 3 years ago and paid considerably more. It was stolen out of the car (always take it in with you!) and I replaced it with a 260 last year which has the spoken street names. Funny thing is, after a few weeks I started finding the new model downright depressing. Her voice was so flat. I tried all the voices and then found my old voice which has beautiful natural speech that is just great, but it's the voice that does not speak the street names. So I switched to the old voice and now run my Nuvi 260 with no street names just to get the voice. I'm, guessing they don't have the storage to prerecord the name of every street on the continent, so they use a more robotic computer generated speech out of necessity. Now I am looking for a starter GPS for my brother who I drew for secret santa. Maximum spending being $100 I didn't think I could buy him a GPS. Glad to find out I can! Thanks for your post.
  12. $90 seems like a good deal! May I ask what deal that is? Is it a Garmin Nuvi? Thanks
  13. I am not getting zhu zhu's but my store has been flush in stock since Monday! That's the single $9.99 variety. And they had them today at 11am.
  14. Batcave is back up to $50 at TRU. OOS on the site, but they had a ton of them at our store.
  15. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=38246&vid=1&pid=697529&scid=697529032 You could look for these in the store. I'm pretty sure they came in other colors. They are well reviewed but OOS online except for size 3 white. Old Navy shoes can be hit or miss. The boots we bought at ON this year for my 5 yo (a less furry version) are great.
