  1. Batteries, Kohl's throws, towels, sheets. I've already bought 4 throws this month, I needed them now. I did resist getting 3 more that I wanted though!
  2. I talked to my son about this last night. He pre-ordered his this past weekend, and said he was a little worried because Wizards of the Coast is telling retailers there may be shortages even for pre-orders. So hoping he'll get his when they release Friday. Something interesting though, he said these don't really have an MSRP, but they go by Market Price. He looked last night, and the 4 deck set was $40 more than when he ordered it a few days ago. So that's a little crazy! I'm not sure about deals for card games. He has a few places he orders his decks from, and then he buys individual cards from an eBay-like marketplace. If you aren't buying until summer, hopefully the "newness" will have worn off and they will be easier to find and market price will be less. Let me know if you want me to ask him more questions.
  3. Happy October! Got the news yesterday that grandchild #3 is on the way... and this will be the first girl! I have no ideas for anyone's Christmas yet, no one really needs anything. I'm hoping next week I might start getting some motivation and ideas with Peime day and prime day competitor deals.
  4. Same!! We had some big expenses this year, so we're trying to be more mindful of spending for a while. So hopefully I'll spend less. And right now I have practically nothing on the list for anyone. I do love to give presents though, so I always come up with something. So we'll see how that turns out!
  5. I usually find pretty good deals at Dell.com for their BF sales for gaming laptops.
  6. Jealous! I need to get busy on mine. My oldest grandson is almost 9, so I feel your pain. Too old for toys, but still wants fun things!
  7. I need to start getting some IDEAS of what to get everyone! So far I have bought exactly 1 present, some soap for my BIL. And I have not started any lists yet. I am behind.
  8. Yes! I have 4 or 5 of the village buildings, the big train, the smaller train and train station, the Christmas tree from a few years ago, the Elf, Gingerbread, and Santa house, nutcracker, and Christmas wreath. And they all go out at Christmas. Sometimes I'll put the snow sheets down, add boxes for height, and add some tiny lights like others do with regular Christmas villages. I also have many non-Christmas sets that are in different places around the house. The different flower sets are in the living room, the lighthouse is in the entryway. The media room/office has the star wars sets (some mounted on the wall) and Optimus Prime. I have the big Disney Castle and the Disney train and station (that usually joins the Christmas decorations). And then we have a shelf with about 6 or 7 of the Town buildings (it's full - I need a new shelf!). Most of these I built by myself, but about a year ago my husband discovered the fun, so he's helped with about 8 sets now. And I have many more on my wish list! Have fun!!
  9. Yay September! We are getting slightly cooler nights here, but it is still warming up nicely in the day. Yesterday was a nice breezy cooler day in the low 80s, but we are back to the 90s this week. Should warm things up for the weekend for my son and friends to have one last good pool day. I hope everyone made it through the hurricane okay last week. My daughter's city was hit very hard, and she is still recovering. But they are okay.
  10. Tomorrow is the first day of school here. My kids are grown, but hubby and I work for our school system, so we've been busy getting DayOneReady. Whew! I'll be glad when it's Day 2!
  11. Today was my last Friday off, during the summer we work 4 10 hour days with Fridays off. New teachers start this coming Wednesday, all teachers return the following Wednesday, and in 12 weekdays the students return. The summer seemed like it flew by! I'll have a couple more days to try and get some projects finished up, but we are already in "starting the year" mode. Fun times!
  12. Happy Independence Day!
  13. Happy last day of spring!
  14. Yesterday was the last day for teachers, so our schools are now empty. And, since I do not get summers off, I get to start working on big projects! We also have a modified work week in the summer, 4 10 hour days and Fridays off, so that's something to look forward to.
  15. Happy May! I have my star wars socks on today to celebrate. School is winding down here. Seniors are done this week, and the rest of the students have 3 weeks. And Guardians of the Galaxy is out today, so heading to see that tonight.
  16. Mulch day today. Home Depot was a week later putting it on sale this year, and only 1 brand is on sale. But that's okay. Last year was our first spring in this house, and we bought all new mulch. About 60 bags, and we still didn't get one small area done. We couldn't do all that again. So we just bought 20 and refreshed the edges and worn parts, and did the neglected flower bed from last year. It looks a lot better, and I am exhausted!
  17. Spring break traffic plus rain equals a not fun day to drive. But yet, this is the day mama wants to make a 2-hour trip to pick up my grandson. And I'm terrified of interstate driving in good conditions. Should be fun! Will be nice to see him this week though.
  18. Happy first day of spring! It is currently 27 degrees here in Georgia. I woke up this morning again to the sound of a helicopter. I live about a mile from a farm, and the peach trees have already bloomed. They are okay until about 28 degrees. The farm brings in a helicopter to help push the warm air down around the trees, gaining about 2 degrees. Pretty neat, actually. We'll probably have 1 more day of helicopters this week... and by the end of the week, we are expected to hit 80!
  19. Yay March. We've had some warm and pretty weather the last few weeks, trees and flowers are blooming, and SO MUCH pollen! Today was cooler, and looks like it's staying that way at least the next 5 days, with some nighttime temps in the 30s. Bleh.
  20. And meanwhile here in Atlanta, it is 76 at 1pm, and still climbing. I'm taking advantage of the nice weather to do some pressure washing, before the spring/summer when the Temps are almost unbearable for long periods.
  21. Thank you! This is a great deal! We have 10 hundred of the buckets posted in another thread, but have been wanting the caddy.
  22. Yay February! Happy groundhog day! And today is my grandson's 8th birthday. I'm excited to go see him this weekend. It's a 3 hour trip, so I don't see them as much as I'd like.
  23. Happy new year!!
