  1. Does anyone ever order any candy online? I always buy things like the Big Hunk Bars, Rocky Road Bars, Sky Bars, etc for stocking stuffers, but I have to run around all over the place trying to find them and when/if I do find them they tend to be pricey. I noticed several of the online places have better prices on the candy before I factor in shipping. It would definately save me time trying to find these, but I didn't know if there was a certain one that might be better than the others. Any suggestions? Thanks :) Okay, so maybe retro candy wasn't the right title :) I guess I was thinking that the Big Hunk Bar kind of is. It appears the Rocky Road bar is still sold on the west coast.
  2. I like deepdiscount.com
  3. Thanks :)
  4. Wow! :)
  5. Is anyone familiar with the Cranium sounds of the seashore game? I just saw this on clearance for $9 at Wal-mart. Any opinions?
  6. I usually hit K-mart and if I happen to be near a Meijer I like to go in there too.
  7. Last year I was only gone a couple hours and I only hit Wal-mart, Staples, TSC and Big Lots. The year before that I went with my aunt and we left my house at 330am and got back here at around 1130pm. We went just about everywhere. We went to Wal-mart, ToysRus, Kohls (3 different ones), Target(2 different ones), Best Buy, Jo-anns, Staples, Office Max, the mall, and I know there are lots of places I'm forgetting. Then I got up early Saturday morning and hit all of the Saturday sales that were going on. We had a really great time, but we were sure tired and sore at the end of it all. We're looking forward to doing this again this year :)
  8. I was having this same debate with myself. My boys will be 4 in March and I want to get one of these systems, but I have no idea which. I'm glad you started this thread beavermom :) I was leaning towards the leapster only because I saw a Schoolhouse Rock game and my kids LOVE Schoolhouse Rock.
  9. Probably Marysville Ohio first to Wal-mart and Best Buy. Then off to Columbus!
  10. Last week the Target on I think High Street had pools and stuff at 50% off. You might want to try there.
  11. My mom actually found me a really neat set of these a few years ago at a year round Christmas store. If I had a place for them I would leave them out all year! :)
  12. I've been doing black Friday for about 9 years. This will be my second year for Black Friday here as a member.
  13. I carry one of those wallet type purses. You know, the ones that are really flat and you just unsnap it and it has a place for all your cards and $$ and stuff. I put that around my neck so I don't leave it anywhere. I'm always paranoid about stuff falling out of my pockets. I usually wear jeans, a turtleneck and sweater or sweatshirt and comfy shoes. It's cold here in Ohio, but I refuse to wear a coat. I don't like the extra bulk when I'm trying to shop.
  14. It is fun :) I wasn't around when my neice and nephew were younger. I just became their aunt 5 years ago when I got married. (I'm closer in age to them than my hubby...how funny is that? lol) I'd hate to see what it was like if I were around when they were little! lol I totally agree!!! It's all the stores fault!!!!!
  15. Unfortunately, the question for me should be is there anyone you don't go overboard for? I'm like that with everyone. It's really bad with the neice and nephew. They're 16 and 20 now, but I still buy them too much. We get them a few nice gifts, stuff they want and then I do what I call a junk box, which is really just tons of smaller stuff I've found along the way that I think they'd like. Last year I filled them each one of the big size pampers boxes and I'm not talking with just stocking stuffer type stuff. Some of it is, sure, but then there's a lot of nicer stuff in there too. It's an addiction I can't stop!! For others, like my parents, I tend to find a big box for each of them and then try to fit everything in it so it just looks like one present for each of them, but then the packages are always huge and hard to transport. Same thing for my husband. He usually gets about 9 or 10 packages, but each package has several things in it. It's insane and I know it. This is probably why I freak out so much about having to wrap stuff.
  16. It all depends. The year before last was probably around $500 or so. I didn't buy anything big, but we were out all day, so I just kind of bought whatever. Last year I barely spent anything. There wasn't anything I couldn't live without and I was only gone for maybe 2 hours, so I think I spent around $75. This year will probably be $500 or more. There's nothing I need or really want all that bad yet, but I have about that in gift cards at the moment and I've been saving them for black friday.
  17. That is so wrong to tease us like that!!!
  18. Congrats everyone :) I'm so excited to see the Black Friday forums open!!!!
  19. Wow! Four little ones? That's so awesome! I hope you get your wish!!! :) I'd like a lap top and something sparkly :)
  20. I keep a list. I have a notebook where I write down everyone's name that I buy for and a list of ideas for them. Once I buy something I highlight it so I know/remember that I've bought it. I'm also a major impulse shopper though, so I'm constantly adding to that list after I go shopping
  21. Yes, I still send them. I was thinking about doing those the other day but got distracted.
  22. My favorite part is watching people open gifts too. I work hard trying to come up with stuff that they would really like and it's fun to see their faces.
  23. When I worked the girls in the office all went together and got the boss a detail certificate for his car one year. He REALLY needed it. Another year we had an aerial photographer take a picture of their house and property. He loved that. One year we got him an Ohio State Lamp that kind of had the Tiffany lamp look to it. My boss was a dentist so it was really hard to think of stuff to get him that he didn't already have. For his wife, who was our office manager, we would get a spa gift certificate, or a big basket of Mary Kay stuff...that kind of thing.
  24. same as everyone else milk and cookies for Santa (my kids get SO excited when they see the plate in the morning and it just has crumbs on it) and carrots for the reindeer
