  1. It looks very similar to the coupons Arie has been sending out... I don't think it's fake. I'll find out for sure one way or the other tomorrow...lol.
  2. Thanks! I'm going to have to hit the mall with ds tomorrow... his christmas $ is burning a hole in his pocket!
  3. Christmas evening I kept finding "little" things that were supposed to go in stockings. My ds finally got the AE wallet I bought a year ago to go in his stocking last year on Christmas nite. lol. I do think that I finally found it all though... maybe...
  4. You're welcome... glad the Oreo balls were a hit.. I'm munching on one right now..
  5. They aren't loud at all... that seems to be the major complaint about them.lol. Maybe it was a parent that came up with the concept after listening to their children pop bubble wrap all day one day. I've been popping mine since I got it Friday, it's a great stress reliever.
  6. I saw these at ToysRUs myself, and thought about buying myself one... after the week I've had I think I might have to stop on the way home...lol.
  7. I love Oreo balls. This is the recipe that I use... hth OREO BALLS 1 pkg. Oreos 1 8-oz pkg. cream cheese 1 pkg. almond bark Twist Oreos and take apart. Scrape cream from cookies and put into large bowl. Add cream cheese to bowl and cream together. Put remainder of cookies into a Ziploc and seal. Use a rolling pin to finely crush. Add finely crushed cookies to the creamed mixture and stir. Roll into 1-inch balls and chill. Melt almond bark. Dip cookie balls into almond bark and place on wax paper covered cookie sheet. Let set and enjoy! Makes about 3-4 dozen. I will be making oreo balls, peanut butter balls, peppermint bark, cashew bark, peanut butter fudge, choc covered pretzels, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, haystacks, choc. covered cherries and I'm sure my son will have a few more things to add to the list.. tommorrow. Our open house is Sunday.. lol. I'm tired just thinking about it.
  8. I have really enjoyed reading these stories, thank each of you that have shared for the smiles that you've brought to the rest of us! It is nice to know that my son and niece have some fine company in their "strange" requests. It does make you wonder what all the average Santa hears from all the children in one season... doesn't it?
  9. Thanks for sharing your memories... it's nice to know my family isn't the only ones that have made "different" requests... It has definately put a smile on my face picturing these kids in the above situations...
  10. Oh wow... sorry that you had to go through that. Sounds like he might need some "anger management" classes. lol. He was totally out of line to come into your place of employment and behave as he did. It's harrassment, pure and simple. I would allow your boss to call his supervisor, advise him of the situation, and make it clear that he was NOT to be back at your place of employment, or that if he harrasses you anywhere else the police will be called. I hope things work out for you... maybe they will change his route.
  11. I'm the same way. When my ds was 8 he had a friend of mine for his teacher. One day right before they got out for Christmas break my friend called and told me some children in her class were trying to tell my son there was no Santa Claus. She laughed as she told me my son's reply--- "I know there is... there is NO WAY my parents could afford what Santa brings me." DS is now 15, and understands Santa's budget a little better now, but he also understands that the day he tells me that he no longer "believes" is the year that he starts getting socks and underwear...lol.
  12. Curious- what's the oddest/funniest thing that your child has ever asked Santa for? You know, that one thing they never mentioned wanting... that is totally not in character for them? When my son was 4 he asked the Santa at the mall for " the train set that Burger King was giving away in their kids meals" It was from a movie scene in whatever movie it was at the time that they were promoting. Santa actually came over to the fence where I was waiting and told me... needless to say- we stopped on the way home and ds got a train set with his meal at BK. My niece asked for 2 gallons of milk when she was 5- while she loves milk her mother was totally unprepared for the "talk" from Santa... lol. Okay, spill... who else has one of these stories?
  13. We are still at full price too. Bummer:(
  14. I will... sometimes you can get lucky because of their limited space. :) I'll stop on my way home and post later.
  15. I'll have to check that out at our Walmart... thanks!
  16. During VBS this past summer our church family became aquainted with a group of 7 children. These kids range in age from 3 to 5. To say that they have nothing would be accurate. We went on a huge clothing/food drive while VBS was going on and managed to have a van load to distribute to them at the end of the week. We have stayed in touch with the families and plan on having a Christmas social with them on Dec 14th. We are buying all of them coats, and have about $400 to spend on toys for these kids. What we hope to get are things that will encourage independent play relying on them using their imaginations. My son is 15 so it's been a while since I had to buy for this age group...lol. I would appreciate any ideas that you could give me. Thanks!!!!
  17. I understand where you are coming from. I used to work retail years ago, and while it was always bad the day after Thanksgiving, it was nothing like it is now. I think a lot of the store's hype of black Friday this year has to do with the economy, and sales being slow, they are trying to get the knowledge out there for everyone to know..."come see us, it's going to be amazing...bring us your money...." That said, I read a interesting article the other day, they did a poll of 1,000 people that said they knew what 'Black Friday' was, and asked them if they would be shopping that day, only 22% said that they would. It makes me wonder... even with the hype if it's really going to be that much worse. I hope not...
