  1. If anyone has a $10/$100 coupon that they won't use - please pm me so we discuss a trade. I really want this coupon! :)
  2. Man - I could really use the $10/$100 at Target. We have 4/$25 gc we got for transferring prescriptions, so I will be shopping there on BF - but I could get my tax for free with this coupon. Does anyone have one that I could trade for?
  3. Well, I am glad that I started this thread, b/c there's a TV/DVD combo on sale on BF that my MIL wants to get my dd at CC - and after reading all of these replies, I am really starting to rethink it. Bummer! I thought it was going to be a great deal - but I HATE dealing with slow rebates or rebates that don't come. The only upside to this is it's only $20 and it's my MIL's dime. (I am buying it and she's paying me back) She'd probably tell me not to worry with it - but the TV is only $5 more than a 13" TV/DVD combo at WM that she wants to get my dd. I'd pay $5 more for a 20" TV (and for ones that's a non-character one), but not $25 more.
  4. My MIL is a frequent Belk shopper. She is amazing - she always seems to sniff out the best deals - and then loads up. She shops there so often, most of the clerks know her. lol! I like Belk - only b/c it convienent and just like Dillards/Macy's/Hecht's (you get the idea). I rarely buy anything in Belk without a coupon or a discount. I just can't bring myself to buy their stuff at regular price. Luckily, with my MIL, it's easy to shop there b/c she always knows when they are having their good sales.
  5. Never hid anything - but have heard of others doing it. Don't know if I really need to though. It looks like a lot of the BF stuff is also available on wm.com.
  6. We are getting our DD the Vsmile machine too - and Grandma is getting her the SpongeBob Tv/Dvd set. I am leary about getting a character tv (assuming this lasts longer than her love for SB) - but DH and Grandma are convinced this is the best deal.
  7. THANKS! This the best site going, as the mods are quick and helpful and the people on this site are much nicer than I have seen around. So....Thanks for all that you (all) do!!!
  8. Yeah - the same story is on wral.com here in Raleigh with the link to gottadeal.com. Cool, eh?!
  9. http://www.wral.com/news/10271592/detail.html 'Black Friday' Ads Leak Early Online POSTED: 7:02 am EST November 8, 2006 EDINBURGH, Ind. -- Shoppers can get a head start on sales the day after Thanksgiving thanks to some Web sites that get the info, sometimes surreptitiously, and leak it to the public. More Info: Black Friday Ad Scans <-- (this is a link to blackfriday.gottadeal.com) Shopping on Black Friday is a yearly ritual for bargain-conscious consumers looking for hot items and good deals. The day earned its name because it's the big money day for retailers, a day when they typically go from losing money for the year to making a profit. In the past, items planned to be on sale were not known to shoppers until the day before the sale. That's all changed in the last couple of years, thanks to some insiders who post info to an ever-growing group of Web sites that cater to bargain-hunters. Shoppers line up the day before to be first in line to get items that are heavily in demand, but this year some things seem to have changed as some stores engage in Black Friday-like pricing weeks before that day. Sites that get ad scans ahead of time are also running into retailers that are going through more measures to keep that information secure until the big day. Some retailers open at midnight, allowing bargain-hunters to get a jump, but others, such as Wal-Mart, are pricing aggressively to lure in shoppers in what has been a slow shopping season so far for them. Last year, seven Premium Outlets nationwide experimented by opening at midnight. It was so successful that 25 of the malls will take part this year. "We'll have 54 stores open, and 54 out of 85 will make it worth your while," said Donna Christian, of Edinburgh Premium Outlets. Storeowners said they expect lines to form outside the stores just hours after Thanksgiving dinner. Wal-Mart has rolled out about 10,000 price cuts, with deep discounts on electronic items. "Large retailers like Wal-Mart tend to consume most of the distribution channels. So, companies will order their products sooner and, if they're sitting around, they want to get rid of them," said Matt Will, a professor at the University of Indianapolis. Experts said they expect holiday sales to increase 5 percent over last year, but retailers won't benefit much if they are forced to make significant cuts to profit margins.
  10. I was thinking about waiting til BF to buy one of these (portable DVD players), and so far, this price beats all the other sneak peak ads I have seen. I don't care if it's not a big screen - it's bigger than the one we have now that just died. I'll have to talk to DH about this so we can scoop one of these up this weekend.
  11. Oh goody - Dora.... DD loves Dora! I guess I'll be shopping there again for Christmas! :)
  12. You know, I think it depends on the store and managers (to over-ride the system). I am sorry you got such a sh1tty response from Corporate. My dd got the same $3 g/c "coupon" for her birthday - and we also got a party planning guide before then as well ($5off/25) - so I used them together, even though it says on the back of each that they can't be combined. I got a bunch of stuff and when I checked out, I asked the cashier if we could use the coupons together. I told her that if not, we could break up the merchandise - so she called her manager over, and ended up taking both coupons on one ticket. He had to override the system - but they did it. I know you situation was different, but for the mgr and corporate to say that they can't over ride the system is BS! It's things like that, that will keep me coming back to TRU.
  13. Dh just mentioned to me that his mom (MIL) wants to get our dd a tv/dvd player for Christmas - this would work out great! Thanks for the post!
  14. I only hit 3 stores last year on BF, and Walgreens was the last one. I picked up a 6' lit Christmas tree for $20, and some of those huge chocolate bars 2/$1 (wish I'd bought more) and some canned nuts. I think I bought more, I just can't remember. I was really interested in the laundry soap deal (Tide) 50oz for 1.99 - but it ended up not being a great deal - as what I get now costs just about as much (Purex 200oz for $6.00).
  15. I don't know who is worse - my husband keeping a secret from our dd or me. lol! I usually can get something and keep it hidden - but dh will crack under pressure and give in earlier. So now I have to hide the toys from my dd AND my dh! lol!!
  16. I'd like one too please (DH and I are celebrating a 5 yr wedding anniversary in 1 wk) - what can I trade you?
  17. ah - ok. The Garnier website/prizes only had shutterfly ("valued at $10") prizes left when I went there. That's why I asked. :)
  18. Is this from that hair-dye game? (Garnier?) I got the same one - it's for 10 5x7 photos.
  19. Well, it really depends on where you go. If you want something from Best Buy, plan to stake out a spot sometime during Thanksgiving day/evening to even be able to get one of the prized door buster deals. I was at a 24-hour Walmart last year and was there WAAAAYY too early (2am) for what I was there to get, but it would be reasonable to say that if you show up 1 hour (or less) ahead of time, you most likely WON'T get what's hot.
  20. This will be a Target (shopping) year, since I have giftcards - and the local Target has a Starbucks. Yummmm - maybe I'll treat myself to a nice hot mocha while I shop. Now I am hoping they are open when Target opens. :)
  21. I really only started BF shopping when I moved to Raleigh from Tucson, Az in 1999. I don't know why I never shopped on BF before, but when I moved here, my sister and I made it a tradition to shop together. Unfortunately, we didn't shop together last year, and probably wont this year - but I won't stop shoppping. Too addicted to the deals!!!!
  22. Three years ago, before Kmart had been bought out by Sears, they had a similar gift card deal for the first 50 people in line. The amounts on the g/c were anywhere between $1 to $100. My sister and I went, and when we checked out, I joked to the others in line that "Yeah, I have the $100 g/c" - they all laughed, but when the cashier scanned it, I DID have it! No joke! I was more shocked than anyone else in line! Luckily, I was able to do some shopping later (after BF) with the rest on the card.
  23. So - for those of you who like to buy CDs/DVDs on BF, what are you hoping will be available/on sale this year? Any box sets you are dreaming of? Is there anything that you just have to have, and if it's on sale it'll be even sweeter??? For me, I just recently got into Sex in the City. Yeah, right after they cancel the series! Anyway, I remember the box sets were on sale last year for something stupid like $10/set. I'd have racked up! I am also looking/hoping for Charmed (the whole series too). Anyone else?
