  1. I am a bit of a perfectionist about wrapping. It has to be perfect, and I use tons of different kinds of paper. No two presents look alike (a couple have the same paper, but the bows and ribbon make it look different.) My kids presents I do not make as fancy as those for other people though cause adults actually pay attention to how the gifts look. Kid just go I am also very careful to ensure that Santa and Mommy and Daddy don't use the same wrapping paper. That paper is hidden and reserved strictly for him (also several different rolls lol) We do things to keep others from guessing what things are. Sometimes things are wrapped inside clothes to make it seem like just clothes in the box. Or maybe a huge box with about 20 progressively smaller wrapped boxes inside leading to a smaller (but nice) present. Bells or other things that rattle make good distractions for those who like to shake presents. A really good tip is that if you are worried about someone opening the presents, simply sign or initial the tape. Make sure that part of the writing is on the tape and part is on the wrapping paper. This way presents cannot be re-taped without everyone knowing. I usually watch a Christmas movie or listen to Christmas music while wrapping. I also get some baking done while I am at it. The wine sounds like a good addition though :) My husband helps me wrap too (last year was pure ...heck cause he was overseas I did not get as much done ahead of time so I was up literally all night long. This year he will be home). The first year I did not let him help. I was too particular about it. lol That really lasted lol :) I do most of it throughout the few weeks heading up to Christmas, but it always seems there is stuff to wrap on Christmas eve.

  8. Mine always has tons of stuff during the day. I am expecting this weekend there will be tons of stuff to sample for this event.
  9. So I don't miss it, that was Eastern time correct? Congrats!! This is so exciting! :)
  10. The kids building sets are cute. The ones with all the tools in a tool belt or with a workbench. Blocks are my sons favorite -- he will be 4 this month, but he has loved blocks since he was a baby. Oh those big blow up things that you bounce in or that has balls in them. Two year olds love them! My son got his spongebob toddler bed for his second birthday. They have a cars... lightning McQueen one too
  11. They also have them both at KB toys. And you can save $5 off of $40 or more if you pay using visa (although it applies the code before checkout so it may work for any card) here is the code VISA46KB http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/4691719/ctid/17/ http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/4728515/ctid/17/INstock/Y/D/

  13. My sons birthday is this month -- the 25th to be exact. I have him signed up for the birthday club. Now mind you, I only ever signed him up once. However, He got 6 birthday cards with $3 gift cards in the mail today . They spelled his name wrong 5 of the times. I guess they were trying to get it right or something. Maybe they were changing systems. I really have no clue. His name is Layne. One time they spelled his name Alyne -- the rest of the times they spelled our last name wrong. Oh well, I guess he benefits
  14. I have doen this before with OOS items as well. Then I just kept checking back until they had them in again. That way it was in my cart and good to go!

  16. Oh it sounds like such fun! :) I can't wait to watch for you! :)
  17. I just noticed you said NC. Yep no taxes at all!! :) I am heading to Hilton Head to the Tanger Outlets while I am there.
  18. \yep me too.. I am in Savannah, but we are driving up to SC for the no taxes on Friday and Saturday!! :) All things qualify except for hotel taxes -- even car taxes are free! :) Where are you at 12days?
  19. I will be. My best friend is flying in for Thanksgiving. She is bringing an extra suit case just to take presents back in :) We are heading up to SC to take advantage of the no taxes to :)
  20. I would try to go prelit if at all possible. IMHO it is much easier to deal with each year ... and the think I love is how great the lights look on the tree. They are spaced out just right and wound around the branches (what I have seen are anyway) giving it depth too. Big lots always has them for good prices as well. I didn't see it online, but I was looking at Lowes and they have a 6.5 for 69.99 prelit. It looks very nice and is very full looking. Bear in mind, this is full price so they will have sales on them soon as well.
  21. I have had both. Actually I even had one that had both -- it was prelit but also fiber optic. The fiber optic look pretty with the changing lights, but somehow they still look cheap to me. ?? No offense if you have one, I have had them too. I like the pre-lit better, but I am a bit more of a traditionalist.
