  1. The big thing I got was the Wii at Meijer (along with the $50 coupon). Went to the store closest to me instead of heading straight into Grand Rapids and am glad I did - it provided me with the best BF entertainment.... Someone jumped the counter to get one and a lady in front of me yelled at store management to do something about it, the guy tries picking a fight with her, gets kicked out of store, she tells them what's going on (the line, BTW, was from the very back of the store all the way to the front) and they actually did something about it, getting a round of applause from those of us in line :)
  2. Size XL here.... Seriously, thanks for all the work that goes into this site! I'm going to try getting on here more throughout the year.
  3. Not likely :)
  4. I have too, just to get a general idea. May or may not go on Wed. (don't live in or very near to the city where I'm going).
  5. DD would like some, but she's not fussed over getting them. If I happen to find some I'll likely grab them but if not it's no big deal. Wait for the garage sales...
  6. Why do I have the feeling that when DH hears of this I'll be ending up at the madhouse that was shown all over the news year before last?
  7. After last year's fiasco I would believe it. Tell her to be careful :)
  8. With the major purchases DH wants me to make it looks like CC for me, though I'll have to consult with him first. Don't want to be stuck having to return a bunch of stuff after he told me to go shopping only to say later I spent too much...
  9. From Meijer: Wii 199.99 filled bean bag chairs ([email protected]) 19.98 Farberware 22 pc gadget and cutlery set 19.99 Play Doh 24pk colors ([email protected]) 30.00 iPod Touch 199.00 Supersize pillows ([email protected]) 29.97 30"x50' gift wrap .99 Total: $499.92
  10. GD got a mention in the Grand Rapids Press :) The article is about Meijer releasing their BF ad early. http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2009/11/once-secret_black_friday_deals.html
  11. I don't remember what I said before - about the same maybe - but DH is suddenly finding things to buy. Big things like washers and dryers and sofas... looks like I'll be taking his truck this year! And spending more...
  12. That was quick! I just posted I had found it elsewhere
  13. It's out!!! I've found it on another site so that means it will be up here very soon!
  14. Nothing quite yet... still waiting :)
  15. I ordered paper from my kids when they were doing their fundraiser (flat wrap). Still need rolls though...
  16. I too was disappointed to see my Steve and Barry's close but the store that went in its place, Wear District, is along the same line but with more trendy styles... definitely the same on pricing!
  17. Meijer, Michaels, BB, WM, Target.... pretty much all of them! DH, meanwhile, is waiting for a certain ad that won't show up on here this year ever since he "discovered" that there's worthwhile furniture in there to suit his needs!
  18. Even my DH is talking about scouting out the stores right now :)
  19. Plotting strategy Is key - when the doors open It's to each his own!
  20. You've got me interested now... :)
  21. I hope so. This is the one that DH looks forward to the most.
  22. I'm giving up on cooking turkeys since it's only 4 of us and it's never finished. If we want turkey I'll get a turkey breast or roast, but our new tradition will be going out to eat.
  23. They look like a waste of money to me. DD has already asked for them and has been told no.
  24. Got one on the way :)
  25. DD likes to collect these from the tree in front of our post office. She likes to stand them up as trees, so you could turn them into mini Christmas trees (to use as tree ornaments or bag/package decoration) with glue, glitter and assorted decorations. Or tie a string at the top, spread it with peanut butter, roll in bird seed and hang it outside for the birds. My mom, long ago, made a big pine cone Christmas tree with chicken wire for the base. Or you could do a wreath.... I think I need to start on this myself! :)
