  1. Yes. We set and amount for each person. Our parents all get the same amount spent on them. We do the same thing with our boys. They are too far apart in age to match gifts so we match money. This year the 16 yr old wants just a visa with $$ on it and the 9 yr old will get gifts under the tree.
  2. Me too! Just the way I like it. I am only worried about the deals I want. I have met my sister before at the stores but I would rather go by myself!
  3. We will be spending less because we cut down the amount we normally give to family(anyone not living in my house..).

    The teens

What about a GPS for the 17 yr old?
  5. We do the angel tree/toys for tots(this is huge for dh because he was a Marine)/and canned food drives.
  6. I have it on already too. My boys love it! Christmas is my favorite holiday hands down and it is my boys as well.
  7. This is how it was in my house growing up and it is how I do it for our boys! :)
  8. Change daughter to son and this is exactly how I feel! Ds#1 is 14 and he loves to help being Santa. There have been years in the past dh and I have not exchanged gifts and you know what it was okay because IMO Christmas is about the kids. Dont let those grumps get you down!!!!
  9. Our living room tree is silver and blue with white lights. Our family room tree has all different ornaments mostly Hallmark with color lights.
  10. We have it at my house. My Dad usually cooks the turkey at his house and then brings it to mine. I usually have 15 people or so every year.
  11. I was just at Target and they are now selling them.
  12. We go a few times and look at lights. The last few years I have had everyone over here for Christmas Eve dinner so we haven't been able to go on Christmas Eve. I recently became a SAHM again so this years dinner will be early so I can get everyone out of here and look at lights! My Mom and sister come over and we make cookies with my boys. We have a list we like to do and it differs from year to year. We get our tree and set it up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I usually start listening to Christmas music in October and I think my boys ages 14 and 7 will do the same with their family. They love it! :) We also let the boys open 2 gifts Christmas Eve night, a small toy and ALWAYS p.j.s. My little one sprinkles reindeer food out on the front lawn and leaves Santa cookies and a Pepsi. Santa doesn't like milk! Dh goes out after ds is in bed and we soak dry dog food in water and after it puffs up we sprinkle it outside for reindeer droppings. Ds loves it! :)
  13. We did 4 wheelers last year for my then 6 and 13 yr old. It was the BEST Christmas EVER!!! I have not even started this year!!
  14. Last year for Christmas Eve dinner I made -prime rib -mashed potatoes -corn -butternut squash -rolls -homemade sauce(meat balls, sausage) -macaroni -warm Italian bread This year Christmas Eve will be the same but my Dad is cooking a turkey(stuffing and gravy too) instead of the prime rib. Christmas day/dinner is only my family of 4 so we normally have left overs or Chinese. I am trying to talk Dh into going to Disney World that day so dinner will most likely be at the Mouse's House.
