  2. I need some CHEAP gift ideas for 4 girls, ages 2, 5, 7, 9. I'm trying to help get these girls some "Santa" type presents but with 4 kids of my own I can't afford a whole lot. Maybe $50 a piece at best. So if anyone knows where I can get a few really nice things per girl for that price I'd really appreciate it!
  3. The same thing happened to me with the TMX Elmo on the 5th, never got a confirmation from TRU either so I reordered on the 6th and did get a confirmation from TRU. I checked my order status and they have no record BUT when I just entered the order # from TRU and zip code, it came up. Now i've got to figure out what to do about getting my money back from Google for the other order. I don't think I'll be using Google again.
  4. Uh oh. I'm just now trying Google checkout and I'm not sure if the Elmo I ordered will actually come through. If I have an experience like yours I won't be using it again, no matter what the savings.
  5. The Radica 20 Questions Game has been sold out everywhere I checked online so I went to my Wal-Mart this morning and they had a bunch and they had marked them down to $8.88! This is the small one though, here's a link for what it looks like: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3619836 Perfect stocking stuffer!
  6. If you're still looking, I found a cute, elf-made looking doll here: http://www.hearthsong.com/hearthsong/product.do?section_id=6&bc=1005&pgc=1302&sv=2456&cmvalue=HS|6|SALE%20COLLECTIONS|2456|2456-P1 It's on sale for $9.99 and the assessory pack is on sale for $6.99
  7. It's pretty tough to buy for this age and I'm not sure what else he's in to but what I did once was buy a kids wallet and put a gift card in it. My kids love to go shopping with their "credit card" and it also helps to teach them about budgeting.
  8. Try here: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/category.do?bti=0&cat=548134&sortBySelectedIndex=0&series_id=-1&sdir=sasc&sb=61&showAll=true
  9. From what I'm hearing this year I think stores are becoming more security minded. Wal-Mart is usually a madhouse but this year I've been told that shoppers that misbehave will be escourted out of the store (or line). I think WM and some others will start handing out tickets (or have some kind of system in place) to avoid stampedes and fist fights.
  10. I think it would be. You could always run across an unexpected bargain or two and if nothing else you'll have some time to yourselves.
  11. So online ordering will not be accepted until 5? That's gonna leave me out then, I'll have to try to get my stuff in-store.
  12. I was thinking of doing the same thing but my only concern is would I be able to place the order before I head out. Otherwise I will just try to get them in the store and if I can't then try online.
  13. I'm so excited- I get to initiate THREE people to BF! A friend of mine, my son's girlfriend and her best friend are all going to their first BF and I can't wait to see their faces lol. Anyone else taking first timer's?
  14. What really, really ticks me off is that my WM doesn't hand out tickets and last year they didn't open the doors at the same time so those of us that were waiting first HAD to make a mad dash for the deals. The employees saw who was first in line and where it started, they were back and forth in front of the door all night, yet they still didn't do things fairly. That's one reason I'm thinking of hitting BestBuy first.
  15. I would be there at least 2 hours early just to be safe. I have a feeling those will move fast this year. Of course it also depends on where you live, if it's a small town you might be ok with the hour wait.
  16. Belk has nice clothes, frequent sales and lots of percent off coupons that are good even on clearance. Never been to Belk on BF but you can get lots of quality stuff year round in the clearance dept CHEAP!
  17. Circuit City is having "most" of it's stuff offered online Thanksgiving (per the ad). I also think ToysRUS did the same thing last year so they probably will again.
  18. I don't think the current ad is false, it's just not all of it imo. I think there are some things Wal-Mart isn't letting go of until a day or two before thanksgiving. I can't imagine BB and CC having computer deals and WM doesn't? Nah- something's up. Of course that could be my wishful thinking.
  19. I know someone that works at Wal-Mart and they told me they've heard the same thing. The rumor going around that store is that there are going to be some SHOCKING discounts on BF. I hope this is one rumor that comes true!
  20. I was very disappointed by Wal-Mart's ad this year and said as much to a family member that has just started working there. They told me they had heard rumors that WM is planning a few surprise items this year so I'm holding out a little hope that there will still be some good stuff coming. If not it's BB first for me this year!
  21. Chat up the other folks in line- and try to fend off cutters
  22. I save all my change from one Thanksgiving til the next and cash it in plus i save cash each week- at least $20. I've never felt unsafe carrying cash on BF and that's how I prefer to do it since it's so easy to go over budget but if I did i'd just deposit it in my checking and use my debit card. Credit cards are just wayyyy too tempting for me on BF!
  23. I always run in and grab blitz items that i want, then lug it to the front and get a buggy. it's easier to get in and out of certain sections of my store (and faster) when you don't have a cart, then I shop for the rest of the stuff i want. Besides, people with carts as soon as the doors open scare me
  24. I like the gift swap! We do that sometimes too. We've also drawn names but I think the gift swap is more fun and I really like the idea of using gift cards for it.
