  1. Ya know the only place I found them for 75% off was a Super Target. All the "regular stores" do not have them included with the Christmas stuff. Kind of strange. One of the regular stores was stocking an entire end cap with them orange stickered at $3.48 (1/2 price). Kind of bizarre.
  2. I saw those peanuts today for $1.74 at one store and full price ($6.99) at another. Go Figure! I had a receipt coupon for $1 off, so that made them quite cheap for 3 cans of nuts.
  3. I was at a couple of stores today and noticed sooo many Christmas items scattered throughout the store. This is such a hectic time of year for the shelf stockers and markdown teams at Target that its hard for them to keep up (and keep merchandise in its correct place). Unfortunate for Target, but great for customers, especially if you are familiar with what is holiday merchandise. When stuff goes to 90%, those next 2-3 days are some of the most fun scavenger hunting of the whole year. Many shoppers (GOTTADEALERS excluded of course!) may only look in the holiday clearance aisle, or only be looking for the orange stickers, but holiday merchandise isn't stickered, so some items can be sitting around anywhere untouched cause nobody knows they are holiday! Plus there are so many returns coming this time of year that stuff is always popping out of nowhere. However, after the stuff is salvaged and rings up 0.00 or item not found, it's up to the store as to whether they will sell it to you or not. Then it becomes a game of "name your price" and hope you get lucky. I think that holiday stuff only stays at 90% for just a few days at the most. (I think someone on here said it was going to be salvaged on the 9th???)
  4. I don't know anything for sure, but if I had to guess, I am thinking that there will be a massive toy markdown next week... many things going from 30% off straight to 75% off. Last year, toys around here went to 75% off on the 9th. That fits with a next week time frame. There are soooo many toys left (around here) that I can't imagine they will have markdown teams doing cuts from 30% down to 50% THIS week and then coming back next week and going down to 75%. Especially since it's already Thursday tomorrow. UNLESS, they just decide to mark everything down to 50% next week and then let the aisles sit for another couple of weeks before they go to 75%, which would not fit with last year's timeframe at all. I'm kind of doubting that they would do that. I'm betting that next week we will see some major drops in the toy dept. But, unlike holiday clearances, which seem to at least be within a couple days of each other throughout the entire country, toys can really vary. I don't know about other places, I just know last year most all the stores around here dropped toys to 75% off on Jan. 9th.
  5. I found the Little Mommy 3-in-1 set (two dolls and a bunch of other accessories) for $14.98 at one Target. I used the November toy catalog coupon for $10 off Little Mommy doll without any problems. Got the whole set for $4.98.
  6. Thanks. They look really neat. Definitely worth 5 bucks;)
  7. Does anyone remember how much those travel games were (original price)? I think they had Battleship, Trouble and Connect Four. I thought they were in with the Christmas decorations and were part of the holiday markdown, but my receipt shows them costing $4.99. Were they really $20 regular price???
  8. Ya, I bet that was one of the only stores in KC who didn't go to 75% off the same day as everyone else, so EVERYBODY went there yesterday right at opening. Whereas the day before things were probably pretty spread out among all the stores who started their clearance that day.
  9. And ya know... I agree. I do think that they just need to wheel it on back to the stockroom quietly before it becomes "visibly available" to the customers. Nothing looks worse than an employee yanking something away from a customer. If she wanted them, then she should have just quietly taken them back to a place where she could later buy them. She didn't even know they were in her cart when she was working the aisle and then sort of tried to be a little sneaky about it... I get sneakiness... sometimes I even admire it! But, trying to tell me that they were on hold for someone was silly! She probably didn't like it when I giggled at that and said, "for who, YOU?" Oh well, I can't complain. I had such nice cashiers yesterday and was extremely lucky. I think every one of them took a happy pill before coming to work yesterday! :)
  10. Oh boy, I can't imagine that it will be 90% tomorrow. 'Course I was very surprised that they didn't even carry 50% off through at least one weekend day shopping crowd. So, maybe they are quite desperate to get this stuff outta their stores! I'm thinking maybe Saturday for 90%... ???
  11. It was Ward Pkwy. I'm over it. It just didn't seem right to me. (course the shelf stockers are probably saying the same thing.) DH says I should have hip checked her and hit her on the head with a candy cane yard ornament. (HE TOTALLY DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE SALE SHOPPING THING I DO AND MOCKS ME WHENEVER HE CAN.) I was at Olathe at 9:30 this morning. It seemed very picked over to me. You don't think they went to 75% off mid day yesterday, do you? UGH. People have talked about that happening, but it has never happened to me around here. I hope they don't start doing that! I don't shop the Olathe ST very much at all, so I didn't really know what they had left. Did they have a lot yesterday when you were there? It seemed very sparce at 9:30.
  12. Okay, this is definitely not the biggest crisis of my life, but the Target forum has been a bit tame, so consider this my contribution to a controversy! I was shopping one of the aisles today and one of the workers had a cart full of stuff. I politely asked her if this was stuff that she was putting back on the shelf (even though it was kind of obvious cause she was actually in the process of taking stuff out of the cart and putting it on the shelf at the time) but she pleasantly told me "yup, these are put backs!" I then asked her (politely again) if I could please have the paper towels that were in her cart. Her response, "uhhh, oh, well let me see (obviously unaware that those golden nuggets were, in fact, IN her cart). She says, "These might not be on sale." I saw the penguins and told her that in fact those were the ones I was looking for (again, I was being very nice the whole time). As I was sort of taking them out, she quickly told me that these are actually being held for someone and she took them from me. Uhh, what the heck? Her coworker (who was helping her reshelf) quickly takes them and flees the scene. I wasn't up for a chase so I just shook my head and walked away. No biggie, but I then found myself slowly getting very angry. Oh crap. Now, this has ruined my shopping trip to one of my favorite stores. So, I have this rant going on in my brain about how I need to tell someone that although I am ALL FOR Target employees shopping while they aren't on duty, I have a bit of a problem with them FIGHTING with the customers for the product that they are selling. So, now I have to find them and tell them that I think the way they treated me was totally inappropriate. I MUST find someone. So, I finally find them and very calmly unloaded my brain rant onto them. At this point, I didn't even WANT their paper towels. I think they knew what they did was inappropriate cause they high-tailed it back to wherever they made away with the Bounty and insisted I take them. "O.K., thanks," I said (very non-emotionally). And I was on my way. (This was my only score on holiday paper towels, so I felt a little like I sort of deserve them.) Although, my point would have probably been made a little better if I had declined to take them, eh? I don't ever have run-ins with workers like that and I don't have a problem with them shopping along side of me at all. Personally I do think that it's best if they take their name tag off or put a sweater on over their Target uniform, so that it's not so obvious that they are employees who are temporarily taking a break to shop, but then that's just the way that I would do it if I were a store manager. So, should I have wrestled her to the ground for my paper towels? Should she have had the right to take them??? Inquiring minds want to know! :gddrama:.)
  13. That has never happened to me. I know that others on the board have had it happen, but my experience has been that every holiday clearance changes over first thing when the store opens... at least in the KC area. Maybe someone else knows differently though??? And, it doesn't mean it couldn't happen for the first time either!! Good luck. I hope you get what you are after:)
  14. One more thing... I just got back from the Overland Park Super Target and found some neat Smith and Hawkin wood ducks, some urns, and other very NON christmasy items. NOTHING in that aisle had a sign on it. The only reason that I even thought to check the ducks was because they had a cute red ribbon around their neck, which I will take off. They are very cute. I got the whole set (4, I think) in different poses. Mommy, daddy and 2 babies. Plan to use them in our screened in porch. Also got lots of scrapbooking items in the scrapbooking aisle. But, be very careful... many of the embellishments that even looked Christmasy rang up full price. I just said, "no thanks" to the cashier, but she said oh no, I'll change them for you and I had a lot of them too, so I was very surprised. I told her... "really? that's okay. I don't need to have them," but she said "ya, these are definitely Christmas!" I got lucky, but you might want to watch closely on scrapbooking stuff.
  15. Okay, so in KC.... the Olathe Super Target and Shawnee Mission Super Target DID NOT go to 75% today? These stores were for sure 75% TODAY: Stanly, State Line Super, Ward Pkwy, OP Super (119th and Metcalf), Mission (Shawnee Miss Pkwy and Metcalf), and Oak Park. I just figured everyone went today in KC. GUESS NOT! More shopping tomorrow maybe?! Does anyone know if the Speedway store went to 75% today?
  16. The thing with Christmas clearance is that stuff gets scattered all over the store. People drag anything with a snowflake or penguin on it to the scanner in hopes that it is 75% off. So lots of stuff ends up where it's not supposed to be. I find that it's always best to catch it at the register. If you return the cups, they might give you the discount. It all depends on the cashier (and whether or not they were supposed to be Christmas or not). Today I had good luck with getting them to change prices on things that (to me) were quite obviously Christmas. Care Bear plush dressed like reindeer and an elf that were ringing up $3.48! The Littlest Pet Shop advent calendar ringing up $6.98 and the Little Pony with the santa hat. I was able to get all of them for 75% off. I just asked, which is about all you can do. The cashiers were very generous with their price overrides. Stores were busy and they just wanted to get ya through the line.
  17. I came across the coolest cashier today. I was buying those car kits for DH and we were talking about cars as he was ringing everything through. it was very quiet early this morning and I was the only one in line. I had 3 Christmas Barbies and he couldn't get one to ring through, so he just threw it in the bag. I also had 2 My Little Pony tubes, which were ringing up $6.99!! (They were wearing Santa hats for goodness sakes!) I pointed it out to him and he just changed them right there to $1.75. It was very quiet at the stores this morning. I suppose, if anyone doesn't follow this forum and just went by what Target did LAST year, than they were expecting things to go either tomorrow or Tuesday. The aisles were very quiet until my LAST Target stop, which was at about 10 am. Then it got kind of crowded. I did 4 Targets in 3 hours. I was on a mission cause we had guests coming over for lunch. Thank goodness there are so many stores close to where I live.
  18. I went to Stanly at 151st, State Line Super, Ward Pkwy and Mission. I scored 11 of the Armor All car packs. I was so excited. My husband goes through that stuff like crazy and there weren't hardly any left at ANY of the stores. Then I went to the Ward Pkwy store and they had a ton. They come in a really nice wood box too. I told him he had to share the boxes with me! He doesn't care. He is just after what's inside for his precious cars. They were $6.24. He says that is about what you'd pay for ONE bottle of all the stuff inside. GOOD DEAL!
  19. Yes, I went to the State Line Super. Stanly and the Mission store had the most left (in my opinion).
  20. I went to 4 stores this morning in Kansas City. All were 75% off!
  21. I think I got very lucky when I bought my batteries at the dollar spot. I saw that they added a sign today that said batteries are excluded. I'm surprised I didn't have any problems buying them since they were ringing up $1. I just told the cashiers that they were supposed to be a quarter and they changed the price on all of them without even checking. Go figure. Now they've added the sign excluding batteries. Glad I stocked up I guess.
  22. Ya, I bought two on Amazon, so if they go to $12.50 than the littlest diva at our house will be lucky and probably get one too. Poor thing, she really only gets stuff brand new if it goes really cheap. Otherwise she is relegated to the thousand and one toys that her two older sisters have laying around the house! I secretly wish that about 1/2 of the Polly Pockets would just rally the Little Pet Shop animals and escape outta the house some night. Nobody would even miss them!
  23. Nope, the Target throne has a special 'bonus' dress... different from the skirt that goes around the chair.
  24. To be honest, I didn't really notice. I wasn't looking for trees and I didn't pay a lot of attention. I was at a Target yesterday though.... I'm trying to think where it was... (I obviously go to way too many!)... it may have been Stanly. Anyway, they were unloading boxes of trees. Maybe it was the State LIne store. UGH. I can't remember. I just remember having to navigate around them cause they were unloading. Shoot, I wish I could be more sure of myself. I'm sorry. (Prolly shouldn'a even mentioned it.)
  25. I made it to Stanly and the OP Super Target late in the afternoon. They were still 50% off. Lots of stuff though. I also just wanted to add that if anyone is contemplating those Barbie Thrones that Amazon was selling so cheap before Christmas. I have seen a TON of them in KC poised to go down to $12.48 if they make it to 75% off. There were so many left at the stores I visited that I can't imagine there won't be some left for the 75% off marks. I was really stunned when I saw them marked to a 1/2 price marking of $24.98 today. I thought Target had those full price of $79.99 before Christmas. I mean, I'm sure they had a special on them at some point, but I really didn't think that they were $50 FULL price. Now I'm wishing I would have waited instead of buying on Amazon. Of course it WAS nice to have it delivered to my door at no charge, and that WAS a great price on them BEFORE Christmas, but it's for my daughter's b-day in Feb., so I wasn't in any hurry. Oh well... what is that about hindsight??
