Christmas Eve = traditional Polish stuff...in other words fish, fish, and more fish With boiled potatoes, vegetables, and some kind of thing the name of which I can't spell that has barley, peas, and caramelized onions. Christmas Day = pretty much whatever. Usually a turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, etc, plus lasagna or ziti...heck, pretty much whatever the aunts decide on hehe!

Not til after we get our tree (real) so probably in another 2 weeks?

Coming up on 72 hours and I haven't received a reply to my CS e-mail...what the heck do I do now? I really don't feel like spending another half hour on hold only to have my call dropped (and I'm afraid if I do speak to someone there will be screaming involved).

Well I am super-duper pleased with Kohl's! All of my BF items have now come, including the griddle I was worried about! Their shipping estimate for everything was the 9th-15th, and everything came on or before the 2nd (today)! $%#@ing Best Buy hasn't even responded to my e-mail yet...

Hansie, I won it on eBay. It's not a traditional 'house' building like the rest of the ones we have, but it was one of the nicer ones I considered bidding on :)

No clue on the boat thing, but if the 'snow' is cheap, you could just cut holes in it (just barely big enough to stick the people in) - my mom's are just heavy enough that they don't normally fall over. I hope this thread continues to yield ideas!

Go to tinypic.com and upload the image from wherever you have it stored. Then copy and paste from one of the boxes they give you that says something like 'for message boards' - it will start with [ IMG]. Then just come here and paste that whole code into a message.

Fingers crossed for you! I was pleased that they seemed to understand and acknowledge the problem - I had been afraid they would say something like 'well, you can pay for faster shipping' or something similar.

My mother has a few houses & figures from the Lefton Colonial Village. She used to just put them on the table, then for a while she stopped using them altogether. Recently I've made them part of my decorating but I'm not very creative when it comes to setting them up. Does anyone have photos of such a setup, or know of any resources online? I also need to flesh things out with some trees, lampposts, etc (not CV - since it's discontinued the only place for them is eBay and I'd rather just go to a store) - are there any stores with decent, inexpensive things like that? Any ideas would be appreciated!

It wasn't marked back up; the BF sale was still going on as of yesterday. The sale ended and the prices went back to normal on most things.

The e-mail I just sent to BB customer service: Oh, and I would like to note that Kohl's, which had that insane website debacle on BF, took my call in less than 10 minutes yesterday, and through that and a follow-up e-mail I was told to make, has basically resolved my issue.

Update on the griddle rebate issue: I received a reply to my e-mail stating that, in the event my package doesn't arrive before the rebate has to be postmarked, I should reply to the e-mail and they 'will take further action'. I'm optimistic, though, because supposedly the griddle has already shipped. So, yeah, if you want to send away for the rebate on any of those small appliances ordered online on BF, and your package doesn't arrive by the 11th, e-mail [email protected] for assistance.

Well I feel like I'm a bit behind, but I finally got the go-ahead to purchase a GPS...2 actually, for myself and my father. After comparing a few in our price range I decided I liked the Garmin Nuvi 255W, but was bummed that the price I had seen was from a 3rd party seller. Looked on a few other sites and ooh! I didn't realize the 255W(T) was the 'T' one I had seen when I looked at Best Buy's BF circular a while back. Any reasons I shouldn't get it? My trigger finger is getting itchy!

OK, I called CS about the rebate date issue. [Pleasantly shocked that I was only on hold for about 3 minutes the entire time!] The woman said to email [email protected] with the pertinent information, and that they would respond with what to do. I'm doing that now, and will let everyone here know how it goes!

I decided to do my BF shopping online this year. Kohl's was pretty much the only place I really needed a bunch of stuff from. I started adding stuff to my cart around 11pm EST, thinking the sale would go live at midnight, but it was actually scheduled to start around midnight CST! By 12:40 or so Eastern it was taking forever for pages to load. Not long after that the site started randomly dumping people's entire carts (this happened to me even though I was signed in). It was all downhill after that: the entire site went down a few times and everyone was enraged. As it came back up, I have a feeling everyone was refreshing pages like mad, because it was still another 2 hours' worth of putting my 9 items in my cart over & over, only to have them disappear. I finally checked out at around quarter to 4 Eastern.
