Yep, I just got back! Although signage was up that it was 4/$1.00, I apparently hit Gator Town's before anyone else. I was able to get 200 of the various black dot summer toys (sidewalk chalk, bicycle items, swim goggles, USA activity books, cloth frisbees, etc.) for our next Santa visit and Easter Bunny visit. I usually miss out on these, and with a $50 budget have been very limited on what we can hand out to the resident children. Now I'm set for awhile, and can spend the $50 alloted for the gifts on other items instead. Great find!!

How good is the Clermont store for clearance? I drive right past the new Kohl's on 27 whenever we go visit my FIL near Lake Wales, but we never schedule time for me to perimeter peruse the Target or on 50 or Kohl's on either the trip down or up. I only have the Gator Town Target, with the Ocala one the next closest 45 miles away (not usually worth the gas to drive 90 miles round trip), and neither is a Super Target.

tchubb, where in Central FL are you? More towards Orlando, or up near Ocala?

The One Spot went 75% off today? Waaahhh, I was waiting until Thursday!!

If it goes this week (and it should) I think The One Spot tends to go on Thursdays. But, I could be wrong!!

Very nice!! A Target team member who posts on the AOL board said black dot items in The One Spot went 50% off today. I hope there's some left at 75% off. If so, I'll be buying $50 worth of the toys for Santa gifts for the village residents children.

So, if you buy any items that do not ring up free (or less), the overage is applied to them as well. The cashier will manually adjust the coupons if you are owed money at the end of the transaction. I always give all of my coupons to the cashier after everything has been scanned.

All Super Target coupons can be used at regular Targets, as long as they sell the item. I don't have a Super Target near me, so I don't save any meat or most frozen food Super Target coupons. But, m&ms my Target carries. :) I have an email from Target corporate regarding their coupon policy. I'll find it and post. You can print it out and carry it with you when you shop, in case you get a cashier-nazi.

:) Plus, remember you can also layer a manufacturers coupon as well, and have the amount taken off of the total of other items pretax. It must be on other items, since the candy and the Target coupon cancel each other out.

True, but I've seen stores clearance out items they still carry if the packaging changes as well.

Not RAOS towels, right? If they're part of the Domestics department, the schedule posted in the Newbie Guide (very first post of this thread) says the usual day for Domestics to be marked down is Tuesdays. The length of time between markdowns can vary depending on how sales of the items at the current markdown are going. A Target with slower sales on the towels may mark them down lower two weeks after marking them at a lower pecentage, say 30% off, One where the towels are sellng rapidly at 30% off may stay at the 30% for a good month or more. It's only the seasonal items that follow a holiday type of schedule, or a special temporary department like the Global Bazaar, where all the stores seem to mark the items down at the same time. However, if you know an item has been marked down at one Target, you can be pretty sure the same item will be marked down at all Targets eventually.

At most Targets, the toy department is marked down on Wednesdays. That will vary by store, depending on if the mark down team gets behind in the items they need to get marked down. But generally, you should check toys on Wednesdays.

If I ever make the 90 mile round trip to Ocala, I'll have to remember to see if a coupon is available before I go. I've never been to a Hobby Lobby (and resent their refusal to not be open on Sundays. When is an observant Jew supposed to get to spend time in one? As a rush trip after work M-TH?), but have heard it's a terrific craft and hobby store, and really big.
