  2. My mailman reads my magazines before I get them, and barely gets my mail into the box all the way. Doesn't shut the box either so if it's raining, all of my mail is soaked, even the mags that HE got to read, but I won't get to until it dries out. Sigh. Not sure what I would get him, if anything.
  3. Sigh. I just drove past this one yesterday when I went to Target. I was kinda excited since it's so close to my house. Oh well, maybe I'll score some good deals as it closes.
  4. They could start it today, tomorrow, or next week.... I don't have a whole lot of faith in Kmart to have in stock what they have advertised.
  5. I wish I could tell you it gets easier with time, and maybe it will. I lost my dad 11 years ago this Dec. It was 1 week before my birthday, and 3 weeks before Christmas. I still have a hard time. Holidays really don't mean much to me anymore. I try to ignore them. I wish you the best though, and send you many hugs to help you through this hard time.
  6. I haven't starting playing it yet, but I did dig out my Christmas CDs. I got 'em ready, just waiting for the mood to strike my fancy.
  7. I'm trying to change the title under my name but I keep getting this: Even when I just try to reset it to the default message I get the same. Is the Anti-Spammer giving me attitude??
  8. Did they build this Target out by the airport? I was reading the SWTR online and saw a pic, and read where they were going to reroute the bus line (I didn't even know FSM had a bus line, LOL--- goes to show how long I've been away). I don't remember all the street names, but from what I gathered this was out near the airport. Edit: Oh wait... they moved the airport, didn't they?? So maybe I mean "is this by the old airport?" I may never find my way around again when I go home to visit. LOL Sorry... threadjack over.
  9. Rum balls?? I've never made them, but here's a recipe from cooks.com RUM OR BOURBON BALLS 1 c. powdered sugar 1/3 c. rum or bourbon 1/4 c. light corn syrup 2 1/2 c. crushed vanilla wafers (food processor makes this step easy!) 1 c. chopped pecans Stir together powdered sugar, alcohol and corn syrup. Then add the crushed wafers and chopped nuts. Mix until evenly moistened and pinch a walnut sized piece and roll it firmly between the palms of your hands, repeat until all balls have been made. Then sift 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon cocoa powder onto a plate, roll the balls in the powder until evenly coated. Store in an airtight tin with doilies or wax paper between layers. Recommend candy sized Christmas cups for serving. Makes about 20 balls.
  10. The chocolate no bake cookies made with oats??? Mmmmmmm those are favorite around here too. You need my address, don't you??? I try to make all kinds of cookies, candy, choc covered this and choc covered that, around the holidays, but Magic Cookie Bars is one of my favs to make (and eat), and I always get requests for more. Magic Rainbow Cookie Bars: Substitute 2 cups plain candy-coated chocolate candies for semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  11. In your area is there a UPS store or a Mailboxes Etc? Sometimes that's an option instead of a PO box. I had a UPS store box in Florida and my address was like a regular address. xxxx S Congress Ave #xxx, City, State, zip Or can you get rural mail delivery? We had those when I lived out in the boonies in Oklahoma.
  12. Really big clear trashbag with leg and arm holes cut out. Fill with colored balloons. Gather the open part with a ribbon, and you can go as a bag of jelly beans. (careful sitting down though, your jelly beans may pop) LOL Edit to add: I also went as a box of popcorn one year too. I'll have to see if I can find that picture. Other ideas: Dalmation- Black felt "spots" stuck to a white sweatsuit. Also cut out white felt ears and attach black spots. Jailbird- Cheap white sweatsuit (or we used one of those white paper "moonsuits" one of the guys at work got for us), spraypaint black stripes
  13. Two years ago at Walmart- got there at 9pm Thursday night, first in line (no one else showed up until after 1am). Doors opened at 5am, I was checking out of there by 5:05am.
  14. I work for a storage company, and I can tell you that I've seen more and more people do this.
  15. *whew* yep that helps. I started counting all those people signed up, and multiplying that by the $5 minimum. I was gettin a little nervous wondering what I had gotten myself in to. Thanks for the info!!
  16. Think ahead about how much room you will need in the vehicle you're driving. You want to make sure you have enough room for any big item you might be getting, but if you're going to multiple stores, you want to make sure you can "stash" your goodies, out of sight. Nothing worse than coming out from a store shopping, only to find that a "smash & grab" has taken place.
  17. Is the Ornament exchange the same as the card exchange (sending an ornament to each person on the list)?
  18. I think I remember Brad posting a few weeks ago that alot of old threads had been purged. The one you're looking for might have been in that bunch. edit: I found the one I was talking about, but it looks like he said old freebies/contests threads had been deleted. http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=117134&highlight=post+count I'll see if I can find some of the cookie ones
  19. I was going to get one for my dogs, but I didn't read very good reviews on it. The reviews that I read mostly said it was poorly constructed or cheaply made. Most said you would get the same results using a regular dremel.
  20. I haven't seen that, but I love shopping TJ Maxx for the name brand purses.
  21. I have to use a vacation day. Since my days off are Sun and Mon I usually take off Fri and Sat so I have a nice long weekend.
  22. I'll participate this year. I'll email you my info tonight. btw... do you know your title says 2007??
