Check area hotels to see if they sell discounted tickets. When I worked for Best Western, we were 7 miles from Six Flags St Louis, and we sold discounted tickets for right around $20. Ya might check ebay too. They sell everything there.

It's funny this thread popped back up today. I got an email from Blockbuster.com today telling me they're cancelling my membership within 24 hours for "excessive reporting of DVD issues". Yeah, well, when it takes almost 2 weeks for some movies to clear my queue, and of course they wont send the next movie until one clears, you're damn skippy I'm going to report DVD issues. And one was sent out, supposedly to arrive to my around the 14th, still hasnt made it, so I reported that one too. I really liked Blockbuster more than Netflix too, but come on, it shouldn't take 2 weeks for movies to get from me to Ft Lauderdale (22 miles), or Miami (46 miles). I called the number listed in the email, and told them to do what they had to do. I'd just go back to Netflix. Explained that I had even emailed BB a month or so ago with my concerns about the length of time it was taking for them to receive movies. The guy I talked to was sympathetic, and wanted to transfer me to a supervisor so I could tell them of the trouble I was having. I declined. I had already told them in an email, and had just told him. If they want to lose me as a customer, fine. Then at the end of the call, he said I would get a confirmation email, saying whether or not my membership would be cancelled. Hmmm. WTF? maybe they're changing their minds?? I told him that if they didn't cancel, and left my membership alone, I would STILL be reporting any DVD issues I have. Who knows?

I currently use Blockbuster, and not really pleased with them right now. It takes forever for them to receive the movies after I send them back. And I'm only sending them to either Ft Lauderdale (25 miles) or Miami (40-something miles). During the holidays it took them over two weeks to receive it. I finally started just reporting a DVD issue 2 days after I mail the movie. They'll send the next one on my list, and then about a week later I'll get the email that they've received my movies. Thinking about switching back to Netflix.

UGH I was just at Target last night getting the 24 pk of water for $4. Didn't even look at the sodas. Hmm, wait, maybe that's a good thing. LOL

I got some wrapping paper for 39 cents and 3 of those $40 stockings for $3.99 each. No way in would I pay $40 for a stocking, but for $4.... :D

Big Lots closing stores Closeout merchandise retailer Big Lots Inc. announced Thursday that it will close about 85 merchandise and 41 furniture stores. "We are not distributing or releasing the locations of the stores to be closed until our team of associates are notified," said a spokesman for the Columbus, Ohio-based retailer. She added there is not yet a timetable for notifying employees. I got a tree today. 6 1/2 ft. prelit (multicolored) Colorado Pine (I think--I know it's Colorado something) for just under $15!!! I was very pleased with the find. I got it at a Walmart Supercenter in a neighboring town.

A few of my goodies were: Desperate Housewives, Season 1 Kahluha (sp?) gift set Belgian Chocolates a foot soaker/spa/massager thing with vibration Starbucks coffee gift set a few Dale Jr items in my stocking set of Irish coffee mugs just to name a few
