  1. I don't think I'm in any danger with a few of them getting out, after all, I only know of one other GD'er in this outpost of 150,000 people. First, they get their game on with the walkie talkies they got about 4 years ago (imagine my surprise when I saw walkie talkies on all their wish lists!), 2 cars, 2 gals in each, start at the same store, they either pair off, or all 4 go seperate ways in search of what they want (I've never been privy to ALL the secrets:p ) Where it gets comical is when they're giving directions to where the "goods" are. the words for directions are Larry (turn left), Robert (right), Bobby (turn around) and Frank (forward). If they're out of a certain targeted item, the word is "Ice", so they go to the next item on the list and race that way. And that's the proverbial tip of the iceberg. I played quarterback in high school, and reciever in college, and I probably had less trouble understanding the playbook than the code/lingo they use.
  2. And yes, we've all been told about the movie
  3. Watching my wife, mother-in-law, and sister map out their route, is like watching the history channel as the allies plotted their invasion of Normandy, the precision, the detail, the "code words"...... it's comical almost... but if I laugh, I get hit.... that's not fun.
  4. Sweet look - the new trim makes coming back to work after a 3 day weekend at least bearable!
  5. Were you trying to get in on Qwests "bundled" savings? I'm looking into that as well, with my DirecTV setup, and they told me that the price for the DirecTV would transfer over, but I'd save on the landline/DSL charges.
  6. thanks for the input guys, I think I'll go with the Dymo
  7. With the tubs of kids clothes mounting, I'm trying to find an easy, label making solution where I can label the tubs, and put them in storage. Anybody know of some hand-held label makers for under $50 or so that they wouldn't be afraid to reccomend?
  8. Totally a yard sale.... get a big one with neighbors if you can, they draw well, and sell just as well
  9. I'm trying to find a flat screened 32-35" Television, but have been dizzied by the amount of research out there, and pros and cons I've read, so I figured I'd call out to GottaDeal Nation for advice. The when springs from when the old models go out, and the new models come in, anybody know when that might be? I know I should go LCD or Plasma, but cost and kids make that not the best idea just yet - so I'll go with the 'ol non-threatening 150lb TV that could fall on them.....
  10. I just went through DirecTV for signup, and in the online signup. In the signup, you can agree, or decline, a credit check. If you refuse a Credit Check, you'll be assessed a $10 charge on your first bill, but with keeping your account in good standing, you can get the $10 back.
  11. I'll chime in with a definate thumbs up on the seperation!!
  12. That it is, and it's really good, my brother-in-law and I traipsed through the shopping malls/game stores Sunday to find it, but I don't think he's stopped playing it yet (he's on Christmas break), I just get e-mails raving about it during the day.
  13. I'm making an executive decision to start the holiday early here.... course this stupid pager comes with me everywhere, so I'm still tethered to work a bit.
  14. Here's entertainment the Walmart nearest me - Dilworth, MN - has the laptop and desktop for the $488 price A mere 7 miles away in Fargo, ND - the Desktop is $398, and the laptop is $378. I know somewhere I read that the prices were based on competitors location - but the Dilworth Walmart is literally 2 hundred yards away from a Target.... love pricing differences.
  15. Shoot, looks like a great place, course I'm 3+ hours from any of 'em, and I don't see any online sale for 'em.
  16. This is kinda like Fleet Farm in the sense that it's a "Man's Mall". I remember other threads asking "do you buy yourself toys on BF" and I'm thinking.... I will from this list!!!

    Blizzard on BF

I'm guessing folks would trade in cars for Snowmobiles. I know that in blizzards before, I've taken my sled to school, work, and even to the grocery store for supplies. Looks pretty odd in a metro area of 125,000 here, but it's whatever it takes to get the job done right?
  18. So where does one buy this "great idea jar" that you're plucking ideas from? - I could use one or three myself! Well done fellas, well done:groovin:
  19. Hey genoandkiddo, where you at? - this sounds like a great deal, but we don't have anything like that here in Fargo/Moorhead
  20. So.... TMC.... did somebody um.... ya know.... sprinkle something on your cornflakes or crap in your closet?
  21. I'm the 'bulldozer' for my wife and sister, plus, at 6'4" I tend to see things better and reach the top shelf.....
  22. If your newborn's christmas is like my son's 1st christmas, you won't need to worry about him getting things. While the new Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors spoiled him rotten, we just got him an oak toybox and storage containers..... and besides, they don't play with the toys nearly as long as they play with the boxes
  23. After putting on better than 5000 miles in wedding trips alone this summer (my user name should be griswold), I'm thinking a portable DVD player with dual screens would be key for helping to keep the boy entertained.
  24. Oh heck yeah - looking at the BF deals, I find stuff that would be good for me, my wife finds stuff that would be good for everybody else. It's my "reward" to myself for turning over part of my bonus for her shopping addictions.
  25. Last year was the first year I went BF shopping with the wife, never realized the competitive spirit out there in the early morning. Never imagined the mean streak in the wife when somebody came close to "her deals".... I'm appropriately excited, and scared for this years BF.
