  1. Spend about $75/boy, might seem too little, but we want them to understand Christmas ain't about how much, and how many presents you get.
  2. I'm more prone to this line of thinking. I don't think that layaway makes or breaks a stores profits, despite what folks would say. I'm sure there's numbers one way or the other, I just don't have the time to look for them.
  3. Can't complain, downright balmby here in 56529. Definately jeans and a longsleeve t-shirt weather. Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 41.
  4. Heck, I dig the Gorilla Ladder..... I need that thing, because I dare say the Little Giant isn't coming out on sale anytime soon.
  5. This would be one of the stores I'd drive too. closest we have is about 200 miles away, but it's an absolute must hit every time we go to the Cities.
  6. I think putting it on employees to be better educated is a small part of the solution, the greater part is people showing common sense and respect for others, and that would go a long way towards solving petty disputes like this.
  7. Amen, slowly, a little sanity returning to the world!!
  8. You can have all the line ettiquette in the world, but if the store doesn't help out, what good is it?
  9. In looking at the ads, lots of the doorbusters aren't always the "name brands" that we're all familiar with, but they have the best prices. My question, what kinds of products are you willing to go with an off-brand for because it has the great price, as opposed to a good price on an established brand? Myself, I'd probably be indifferent in terms of DVD and MP3 players, but probably more choosy when it comes to pots/pans, and major appliances.
  10. You are correct sir!! But it still affords me the same explanation as she gives me.... "but it was a great deal!!"
  11. That's what I'd have a hard time with, my one holiday trip to Pompano Beach, FL, it was the wildest thing, people stringing up lights in palm trees and ferns....... Fortunately, by Christmas time, I'm sure we'll have a couple feet of snow to help me get "in the spirit"
  12. So some guys at work and I were talking about a Walmart's early sale (it's a slow Friday here), and we were wondering if this might be what they're using to gauge the marketplace. Like, they put out these good deals right now, and try to draw people in and see what effect it has on the bottom line. Then, at the conclusion of this sale, that's when they determine what goes on sale for BF. That way, if the sales are still lagging, we get awesome deals from them for BF, but if this early sale goes well, we might not see the jaw-dropping sales for BF? You guys decide, are we half baked and bored , or might we be on to something?
  13. 42 degrees.... that's still golfing weather in northern Minnesota ;-)
  14. Up here in Northwestern Minnesota, we're looking at an average low of 15, and average high of 30....
  15. Name? Brad Location? Dilworth, MN People going with you? I think I'm shoppin' alone - the gal's going with her mom How long have you been shopping on BF? er.... not sure? What is the one AD that you really want to see? Menards/Kohls What was that one item you sooo wanted to get, but couldn't get it on BF? Haven't had one Cheapest thing you ever bought on BF? Binoculars at Menards last year $4.99 I think Did you ever get anything for free on BF? Snowglobes/giftcards/hot chocolate
  16. got my wish book.... the 2 year old is THRILLED.... my wallet is shaking with fear....
  17. I can vouch for how good they are, not because I'm an accomplished cook/baker or anything like that, but my wife and I's Grandmothers and mothers constantly bring things over to bake because they like our KA Mixer so well. I figure they know what is good and what isn't.
  18. You'll soon be hooked, I got it last Friday, and Friday night, and Saturday night, we had it in use, had ribs for the hockey game Friday night, and then enjoyed some beef brisquet during the College football games Saturday....
  19. Only as a battering ram..... it's crude, but effective.
  20. Whoohaaa.... finally got a deal that the rest of you all seem to get with regularity... bought one for me, and a buddy, won't be too long before we'd have to go outside in 4' of snow to grill.... this makes it a bit more comfortable.
  21. Dadgummit, waited to get home to get the Kohls card, and the deal is dead..... shoot, I'd have loved this.
  22. Survivor: Black Friday in Fargo, ND it's have all the great elements of the physical challenges, having enough clothes on to withstand the -10 windchill outside, but being nimble enough to evade fallen shoppers, and long checkout lines inside. Probably have to get a little of the Amazing race in there by going from store to store, and to throw a wrench in it, you have to be under a budget (rebates totally allowed).
  23. for a second, I'm thinking.... pimps.... what stores are you guys shopping at that has pimps by it.... cuz I wanna see that store!!! Then... it came a little clearer. Wierdest thing I've seen was a couple years ago, when a couple of StormTroopers (full regalia) were in line to get in at Target. Wanted to ask them so bad what the getups were for, but feared the blaster..... always fear the blaster
  24. Christmas Bonus.... hmm.... I've heard rumors of this phenomenon.... course I've also heard of sasquatch and UFO's.... but never seen those either
