    Farm and Fleet

I was thinking Fleet Farm Must be a cow needing an enema sorry, I couldn't resist
  7. Well we could all be looking at much worse things than GottaDeal, right? I too am guilty of checking out this site 3-4 X a day Oh well I don't drink, smoke or gamble, Jeez am I boring or what:gdwow: I apparently have no life either:idea:
  8. Do WM supercenters have Thanksgiving Day specials? Here in Mass due to the archaic blue laws K-mart, Big Lots etc are forbidden to open. However if it is a 24/7 store they are exempt.
  9. Here no specific holiday celebrations (Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc) are allowed in public schools in our area. People were offended, if they were of a different religion, belief etc. They generally have a Winter Solstice party or Snow Party instead, which in all honesty is just a cover-up for a holiday party Sad, same area as no tag at school. God Massachusetts really sucks sometimes It is way too expensive to live here for the average person trust me !
  10. We always go to the movies...there are always new releases on Thanksgiving. Then we go out for Chinese food at night. Its not traditional for sure, but it is our tradition nonetheless. I do love when people give us leftovers however:hungry: There is nothing like that Turkey and stuffing sandwiches after Thanksgiving!!
  11. Pam can I come over to your house on Thanksgiving:confused: You really go all out, I am impressed. We do a movie and chinese food for Thanksgiving, sounds dull compared to your feast
  12. Like I say every year, "If you don't believe, don't hang up your stocking" By God every year they still hang up those stockings:giggle: I know they no longer believe but I think they don't want to take any chances of being able to open their stockings on Christmas night, plus I think they don't want to hurt me
  13. It all depends on the teacher, some are more special than others:angel1: Most teachers I know prefer gifts for the classroom or gifts that the child themselves have made.
  14. I am MaryEllen, 46 and live in SE Mass, am a Mom, love animals, work in the medical field, love new recipes and travel, esp cruises. This will be my first BF and I am psyched. PS I love soccer and am a fanatic about it, more than a regular Soccer Mom. I am a cheapskate and love it when I find a deal/bargain! I love GD and feel like part of a new family I feel empty now when I don't check out GD at least once a day
  15. Jeez I was hoping to give you great info. My neighbor down the road has a llama farm and they sell them too. They are so cute espcially the babies, they sell Emus too which look like a small ostrich. Its a strange site. I am used to seeing a few cows, horses and an occasional deer but Emu's:p ? I will ask me friend who is from Peru and has a ton of stuffed llamas -
  16. I was in Target one day (yes shocking I know) and a kid about 8 yrs old and his sister about 10 were out of control on those things!! Next thing I know the boy smashes into an older woman shopping and sent her flying, she banged her head and I believe hurt her back or hip. I didn't stay to gawk but the ambulance did come to get her. I heard the manager saying "thats it no more of these things in the store"!!! Apparently this was not the first incident. I have no clue where the parent was of these kids but if I was the woman or her family I'd have been very pi$$ed off about it. There is now a sign that no "roller blades or shoes with wheels are allowed in the store". Also they are not allowed at a mall near me.
  17. Wow i have gotten some great deals at T.M. I think it is very hot or miss and sometimes you have to really search. My best deals were on Linens and kitchen electrics, almost steals. I say keep trying, you will find deals at TM for sure:p

    a frugal xmas

If you are not sure why not try some of those "recipes in a jar" or maybe just baking something or making an ornament or gift. I personally wouldn't be offended, hey if someone is nice enough to remember me I would be happy just for the thought. Remember in Xmas Vacation when the old aunt wraps up the cat and jello salad for gifts:sidesplit I love that movie and still laugh whenever I watch it

    Annual Bears

Do the beanie ones count? Do you remember the craze there was about them. I had a friend who was all consumed by finding and collecting them. She was convinced they were a great investment:giggle: Now they are a dime a dozen at yard sales etc! I do have a few beanies I must admit, the angel bear with white iridescent wings, Princess Diana bear, the multicolored bear and the Irish bear. Plus I do have a couple that my DS's got me for gifts when they were younger.
  22. Just FYI (I learned from experience) I bought my son a Toshiba laptop in the thoought of him having it for college. Most colleges that he looked into/got into required you to buy their specific laptop. He needed to buy a specific Dell laptop for his school and it comes with all the required (school software/programs). Just FYI as we learned the hard way:gd_twocen One of his roommates bought his own laptop (an HP) and he is always needing to look at somebody elses with the specific software etc. I know it is a racket but what can you do:confused:
  23. I just sent one to my son at college, he and his buddies loved it!! Of course it was a deal idea from here, with a discount code and all:wizard: I even ordered a Halloween one for him with popcorn, pretzels and candy in it. I am having it delivered on 10/30 for a Halloween present. To each his own I guess:idea: We too use the can afterwards for something, usually a trash can for the bathroom/bedroom
  24. what an awesome idea:gdthums: I can't imagine how excited/happy they will be. You are the only one who can give them back those memories. You are an
