Countdown to my favorite time of the year!

It's funny, the things we remember. When I was in first grade (or thereabout), my sister was in seventh grade (or thereabout) and she had a Shaun Cassidy album. I can see that album just like it was in front of me now. Anyway, I took that album to school for show & tell (my only defense is I must have thought it was really cool, the way my sisters went on about him). Of course, I didn't tell my sister I took it. And, of course, a little boy made me mad and I hit him with my book bag. The book bag with the Shaun Cassidy album in it. Oops. I guess it's really no wonder she hated me when I was little.

I was just about to say, "we're all warmed up now, bring on Black Friday!" LOL

I picked up a few things yesterday. My best find was a 16 oz bottle of vanilla for $22. Last year it was $16 and I missed it, I'm still kicking myself for that one. But $22 is still a really good deal. Other than that, I picked up a few toys, an Instant Pot, and 2 of my grandkids have been saving their money for a Kindle, so I got those ordered as well.

I just got a letter that they are going to cancel my credit card if I don't use it. I guess this will be a good time to use it .

So, I read that today is Leon Day (Noel, spelled backward). And, apparently, on this day you get to listen to Christmas music as loud and freely as you want. So I didn't go that far, I won't make my coworkers listen, LOL. But I DO have it cranked in the headset right now.

I told my kids the other day that Christmas in July sales and Prime Day are coming up. I need wish lists! Of course, they LOL'd my text and not a one of them has sent me a list. I'll ask again in November, and won't get lists then either. But I'm always hopeful .

OH NO! At least Black Friday is late this year. We'll be sure to save the really fun stuff for when you get back . Enjoy your trip!

I saw pictures of some of the destruction. I hope you and yours are okay. Here in OK, we like to think we are fairly used to it and usually chalk it up to "Springtime in Oklahoma", but man the last 2 weeks have just been non-stop severe weather. Even our TV meteorologists are getting cranky.

I swear I get in the BF mood earlier and earlier every year! I'm already so ready. LOL Christmas in July and Prime day are coming, that oughta tide me over .

I 2nd this. For some reason, I have to buy chapstick every year on BF.

A survival pack sounds like fun. I look forward to new stuff. I'll start thinking of 1st ad predictions, and BF photo captions now!

We had our first tornadoes of the year this week. May is starting off with a bang.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. No matter how old we get, we are never prepared. Prayers for peace and comfort to you and continued recovery for your mom.

March is definitely coming in like a lion around here. Ice expected Saturday and snow Sunday, then the lowest temps we've seen yet this winter on Monday morning. I try not to complain too much though, because we generally get winter a couple days at a time, then nice weather in between . Air fryer - It's good for what it's good for, but some things just need a hot pot of shortening! Now, I make some "fried" potatoes and onions in the AF that always turn out wonderfully. If I want fried chicken breasts (and "crunchies"), shortening it is. "Fried" chicken legs - I use the AF. I will say this: Some people (my sister) put frozen french fries in the oven. That's just gross. If you aren't going to fry them, the AF is at least better than the oven .

Not to wish my life away or anything, but we're one month closer to Black Friday! Did y'all see where Hallmark channel is playing Christmas movies every Friday all year long? For now - Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Black History Month, Happy Heart Health Month, Happy whatever I'm missing!

It's always a little depressing to me when the BF subforums get archived.
