  1. I would still go early at 4AMish for sure...in fact, that's what my SIL and I are doing this year! I am well aware that getting "doorbusters" will probably be completely out of the question, but I would imagine that they would have some non-doorbuster items left (esp Target with the 2-day sale stuff). Plus not having to wait in a ridiculous line sounds good to me! Last year we got to Target 30 min after they opened and the checkout line was literally up and down every single aisle through the entire store....not only could you not fit down any aisles in order to get anything, but you had NO idea where the line even started in order to wait!!!!
  2. I usually do Meijer or KMart on T-giving, they usually have a few things I want...last year went to Old Navy on T-giving too, which was nice. All the midnight openings this year are actually sort of working in our favor! Always go on BF with my SIL...last couple years, Target has been a total nightmare, so this year we are planning on doing the same thing as always: up at 3:30AM, to the mall for 4AM opening of The Children's Place for clothes for our kids...then to Bath and Body for our VIP bags and stuff...but this year I think we will hit Target afterward, so prob around 6:30-7 AM, and since that's many hours after the official opening, I am hoping that it will be nice and calm and we will still be able to pick up some deals.
  3. Spending a nice morning with my sister-in-law...joking, talking, drinking massive amounts of coffee, and just getting quality sister-in-law bonding time while shopping!
  4. I was just going to online shop this year, but my Sis in law persuaded me to go out with her this morning...went to Target at 4:45 and OMG what a MADHOUSE, you could not even figure out where the line to checkout began, it literally started in the center of the store and snaked up and down every aisle then spiraled around the whole perimeter of the store. You couldn't even move up and down the aisles because they were just packed full of people waiting in the longest line I have ever seen in my life. And, since no one could find the beginning of the line, people were forming their own lines and waiting in all sorts of directions....well anyhow, since we were only there for a few cheap things, we said forget it and left (we'd probably still be waiting to checkout!). Headed to the mall, which was GREAT! It's only in the 20's and it's an outdoor mall so hardly anyone was there! Got tons of clothes at Children's Place for 30% off plus we had 20% off coupons to stack. Went to Bath and Body and got the VIP tote and tons of other stuff with no wait or crowd. Went to Gap and got the 50% off with no waiting or crowd! By then it was 7AM. Passed by Mejier and the parking lot was EMPTY so we went in, NO ONE in line, got some toys. Then headed to Toys R Us across the street, it was only slightly busy, no waiting in lines, and they still had TONS of doorbusters left! Between the two of us we have 4 kids oldest is 5.5 yrs and youngest is 7 months so we weren't after electronics or anything. Been home for over an hour, relaxing on the couch and drinking coffee!
  5. This is a good deal, but if you order them be warned that the sizing is WAY off in this brand...I just bought some from the store on Sunday since they were on sale for $10 a pair. I am a size 6 in every other store on the planet and I could not fit into any size smaller than an 11!! I
  6. Does anyone know if the deals in the stores will be any better than the ones they have online now? Since the bag is now available, I was going to just buy it online and save the hassle, but they have B3G2F on their body care when I know in store they often have B3G3F. I also have a coupon for a free item but read in another thread that people are having a hard time applying coupon codes to the VIP bag online as there is some fine print that says it is not able to combine with any other offer or discount. I am not sure if I should venture to the store on Fri or not....

    Gap Black Friday?

Their posting on FB says "12AM-10AM" ...I'm going to call my local store and find out exactly what time they are opening....there is a Bath and Body Works right next door to our Gap, and a Children's Place and JCPenney across the mall...looks like maybe I AM venturing out after ALL!
  8. Hope they don't discount the iPad! Well, I hope for that for me, anyhow...I just bought one last Friday from Apple online for DH....figured they wouldn't do anything with the price of it this season. And I was afraid of it being hard to find as it's supposed to be pretty "hot" this year.
  9. Old Navy had deals online last year, but I don't think they were the exact same ones as in the store. I remember $5 fleeces, $5 graphic tees and $5 thermal tops as I stayed up a little late ordering them.

    childrens place

Has anyone heard anything further about TCP having a BF sale? I got an e-mail from my local mall saying that their store will be open at 4AM on BF but it didn't say what the deals are. Also got a 20% off coupon from them that is valid on BF as well. My kiddos are little (5 yrs and 7 months) so I really only venture out on BF for good deals on clothing and other stuff like that....I would assume that if I got to TCP at 4AM I wouldn't have to fight with a very big crowd....
  11. If you watch the clip from Youtube, it says girls' adoraboots are $12 and women's are FROM $15. I'm thinking the sweater ones are not going to be $15....but I could be wrong....I would like them just for wearing to the grocery store and such. I guess we will see tomorrow! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E7Q7adWzyE
  12. I have done it while pregnant with both of my kids.....just be prepared. Have a couple helpers to get the "hot stuff" so you don't get pushed around. I found most people to be very polite/courteous to me both times. It wasn't bad at all. Then go out to a big breakfast afterward!
  13. Amazon now has multiple games for Leapster down to $9.99!!!! I have been watching them forever and they were about $24 apiece! http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog%C2%AE-Leapster%C2%AE-Learning-Game-Finding/dp/B00029R6H4/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1260533456&sr=1-13 Finding Nemo, Spongebob Squarepants, Pet Pals (the one DD4.5yrs kept asking for!), and a few other titles are this price.
  14. Awesome! Thanks for posting. Even though I had to pay tax, it still came to cheaper than I would have paid on Amazon for it. I can finally cross this off my list!
  15. I am 4 months pregnant and my "plan" is to follow the same good hygeine habits I always do, whether it's flu season or not. I wash my hands thoroughly and frequently, keep hand sanitizer always available (in my purse, in my car, at my desk, etc) and avoid being anywhere near people who are exhibiting any signs of illness. I always sanitize shopping carts with the wipes, and use hand sanitizer after pumping gas or using a keypad after a credit card swipe at a cashier. I keep my hands away from my face, always wash my hands before I eat, and use paper towels to turn on faucets/open doors, etc in public restrooms, and the first thing I do when I get back to the house is wash my hands. These are things I always do and they have proven to be quite effective for me. While I realize that BF isn't a necessity, being pregnant doesn't mean you can just quit living life...you still have to get out there and be exposed to the public....grocery shopping, shopping for other household necessities, going to work, etc. You could pick up H1N1 or anything else going around simply by going to work and touching a shared surface like the copy machine. I have a child in elementary school in which there have been several instances of H1N1 and the flu. She is also in dance class where several kids have gotten sick. She could bring it home, too...but I can't just stop life and not send my daughter to school based on the fear that she *may* get the flu...or 1000 other bugs out there. Just practice good hygiene, take your vitamins and do what you can.
  16. Well, we have Baby#2 on the way and DD4 has about EVERY TOY available (only grandchild, she's a little bit spoiled ) so I am trying to think more in realm of gifts "for the whole family" instead of a ton more toys that are just going to clog up the playroom even more. My list is: 1. A Wii console and Wii games (particularly Wii Sports Resort - we are wakeboarders and DH is excited to try out the wakeboarding game) 2. An under-the-cabinet iPod player - DH mentioned wanting one and we just gutted our kitchen and got all new everything, so I thought it would be nice. He likes to listen to his iPod Touch while he cooks breakfast on the weekends :) 3. "Boat stuff" - not likely to go on sale but we bought a wakeboard boat last year and this was our first summer with it. Got DD4 up on a ski trainer so thought I'd look for some real trainer skis for her....maybe a new life jacket for the hubby 4. A Roomba for my mom and dad, the two of them built their ginormous dream house last year and I think they could really use one. DH got one for me and I LOVE it! Hoping I can find one on Woot. 5. Books and stuff for DD4. I think books are something that no kid can have too many of (or adult, for that matter!). We should find out the gender of Baby#2 sometime around Thanksgiving so I am sure I will be adding baby bedding and stuff like that to my own personal wish list!
  17. The flip flops with the bottle opener are from Reef. Dh has several pairs (he's a bit obsessive with the Reef sandals). He also has a pair with a flask in the side. I don't know about drinking out of a shoe, but whatever... I agree with the above posters about the iPod Touch. I got DH one for Christmas last year on a whim, because I couldn't find a Wii in time and he had mentioned once that he thought they were cool. He LOVES it. I almost wanted to throw it out the window for the first month he had it, because in his spare time all he did was sit on the couch and play with it. But he takes it everywhere, has lots of aps on it, and uses it to listen to his favorite music while he cooks Sunday breakfast :)
  18. I will be just about 20 weeks this year when BF rolls around....I still plan on going out, but I am not going to go for electronics or anything like that (at least not so far). I already bought the H a Wii online and there are a few other things I might buy online too, just to get them out of the way, but I will likely end up going out for small stuff...I always do, even if it's just to Borders to get my 4yo daughter some books or something!
  19. I saw some Twilight calendars at one of those calendar kiosk things in the mall....people were FLOCKING around it!
  20. I can't find them anywhere around here! DH wants one. I went all over town yesterday. One of the stores I asked at (Best Buy), the sales guy said "Ma'am, you do know that's one of the 'top 3' Christmas gifts this year, so it will be very hard to find...?" He was very sarcastic about it. I figure I will just give up now and get DH the Wii for his birthday or something. I'm not one to spend every extra minute I have out looking for it!
  21. For the first time in 3 years, I didn't go stand in line anywhere. I got up at 3AM to browse through the Amazon and Walmart online sales, and bought DD the Crayola Magic light brush thing she wanted from the Walmart online sale. Found a carpet cleaner for my sister and BIL (they asked for one) on Amazon for under $60. Went back to bed til 6:30, got up and went to Meijer for the Littlest Pet Shop playset - they had TONS left and the store wasn't crowded at all...I walked right up to an empty U-Scan and was in and out of there in under 10 min. Headed to the mall to take advantage of some clothing store sales and got DD some books at Barnes and Noble. I am just about finished with shopping at this point, but I've been shopping for a while now. My "secret storage place" that I stash all the Christmas gifts in is practically packed full of stuff!
  22. Well I looked through all the Lightning Deals that are going on today and nothing for me....no toys that I was after on sale either....guess it's back to bed til 6AM...then I'll get up and go to Meijers and the mall.
  23. I heard on the radio this morning that Meijer is having Black Friday pricing on some items this weekend, Saturday, from 6AM til midnight. I have no idea what items they are, though. Just heard a radio ad!
